TD Bank 1790 Liverpool Rd., City of Pickering,Ontario,Canada
Update: I received an email below from TD Bank, Liverpool, City of Pickering, Ontario as follows:
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for the recent experience and understand the frustration that this has caused. If you wish to discuss this further, and to protect your personal information and privacy, please send us an email to: customer support with "Review" in the subject line along with the details of your review (no account numbers, please). Thanks for taking the time to share your review with us. - Anne, TD"
Of course I followed TD Bank's request and wrote to customer support and copied TD President Bharat Masrani and their Chief Human Resources person, Kenn Lalonde hoping we could resolve this issue. NO RESPONSE from anyone at TD Bank and its been over a month. TD Bank has ZERO respect for customers. They act like they are doing customers a HUGE favour by allowing them to bank.
Remember, through no fault of my own, TD Bank Teller at 1790 Liverpool Rd took money from my account to pay another unrelated and unknown to me customer's account without my knowledge of their mistake until much later. The lack of accountability by TD Bank is worse than the original mistake made by the TD Bank teller. I was hoping TD Bank would right their wrong by helping me restore my credit rating related to their mistake but apparently that is asking too much from an unjust and unethical TD bank located at 1790 Liverpool Rd., City of Pickering L1V 1V9.
Original review:
TD Bank, Liverpool Rd., Pickering employ the most incompetent employees. What makes it worse is that they blatantly lie to cover up their mistakes and then blame the customer. I went to pay my Mastercard a week before due date. I presented my statement and card to TD Bank teller. The TD Bank teller paid another customer’s account unknown to me at the time. After several calls to TD Bank Manager, Ben Piemontese TD Bank said the wrong number was entered. In the meantime, the account went to collections. Prior to this TD Bank error, I had no credit card debt. I reported the matter to TD President and the media. TD’s incompetent investigator, Murtaza Yar Khan, concluded that I should have caught TD Bank teller mistake when a receipt was given to me. A receipt was never provided to me by TD Bank teller who made the mistake. TD Investigator Murtaza Yar Khan never reached out to me or asked me any questions via email during his so called "impartial" investigation. Genius TD Investigator Murtaza Yar Khan concluded that I should have made second payment even though my first payment was not received by my Mastercard account and TD Bank had not realized their mistake. I have incurred tremendous stress because of TD Bank’s incompetence. Again, I did not have any history of credit card debt before this TD Bank error. I do not even have a mortgage on my house. I would think twice before banking at TD Bank and for this branch at TD Bank, 1790 Liverpool Rd., Pickering, I would never advise anyone to bank there. I am a former long term customer having been banking at Liverpool location since it opened over 30 years when it was first located in Pickering Town Centre Mall. I will bank at Royal Bank in the future. If I could give zero stars to TD Bank I would. They should be shut down by their regulatory body for incompetence and blatantly lying about their mistakes. Thank you Trustpilot for providing me with opportunity to warn other customers about poor customer service at TD Bank 1790 Liverpool Rd., Pickering.

My account has been hacked twice in one week by the same piece of garbage and the Fraud Dept. is useless unless you remember your telephone banking code(that you just changed less than a week ago). I was frazzled to see that the same entity that committed fraud on my account less than a week ago gained access to my account again, despite getting a new card, new pin etc??? How???? Well I got told that unless I remembered my telephone banking code they couldn't access my account???? What? The thief can but despite putting in my card number giving you my verbal password and telling you this same thing just happened...the person told me they couldn't help, I had to go to a branch and reset my phone code??? Are you serious???? My money is being stolen from my account (16 Transactions last night while I slept-Apple.COM) and you need a phone code!!!! Get out of here! I am disgusted by TD's lack of urgency for fraud! I want all my money back in my account...I am not willing to wait 10 days for your investigation that has already failed to yield any results because it happened again! Stay away from TD!!!

Banking in general can be stressful especially when you have a problem.Mostly when interacting with humans it's because there's a problem that a machine cannot assist with.Enter TD Parkdale.I can say with all honesty these people are very well trained.I have only good experiences with this company and branch. They have some star players ie, Jerome M for example. This man gives old school services and was knowledgeable, affable and very professional..He stayed with me and process until completed and this was over a few weeks.Remember folks, you get what you give at the end of the day.If you're rude and demanding you will get what you get but if we remember that these are people who have feelings too and appreciate being treated as such, we will have a positive experience.Keeping this in mind when dealing with all services and 99% of the time you will be taken care of... properly.
TD Bank really wants the World to know Who you are!!
Been Banking with TD Canada Trust in Oakville,ON for 25 years. I have accounts with 3 other Bank but my bank of choice was always TD bank until last few times I visited their branch. My most recent Visit to their Prince Michael Drive in Oakville, ON because my debit card stopped working. This was my worst experience ever. I went to teller and told her my card is giving chip error if this could be replaced. she started fiddling with keyboard for few min then went to the Guy who I suppose was the Branch manager. He came and asked me for ID and gave my Driver licence to him and then he started asking my question for "My security"...my name, address, phone number, where I work, what is my job title and last 5 transactions...to confirm my Identity!!. I refused to give all those and told him you have my License in front of you, read it and confirm it on your screen. His reply was, How can he trust my Driver License it could be fake....So, I refused to give him all those information and he said "I need all this to confirm your identity and if you have any problem with it you can go Bank somewhere else!!"
Now I may not be the smartest guy, but whenever I get calls from Scammers in India somehow they have the the information this guy was asking me except my SIN number and they too want me to tell them my SIN number to confirm my Identity...strange, isn't it
Now we know how all my information required for identity theft gets in the hands of scammers. All they have to do is stand in TD Canada Trust Bank line and Record conversations between Bank tellers and Clients... and wallah you have 20 Identities in 20 mins.
Good going TD...now we know our money is in safe hands.
Terrible!
Terrible!! never open an account with this bank. Customer support is simply useless! No matter where in the world you are, you need to personally resolve issues at a bank branch.

Title: Beware: TD Canada Travel Insurance Falls Short on Coverage and Customer Service
As a traveler who relies on insurance for peace of mind, my recent experience with TD Canada's travel insurance has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. Despite purchasing coverage explicitly for flight interruption and cancellation, when I fell ill and was unable to travel, TD Canada's insurance provider, Global Excel, failed to honor their commitment fully.
Submitting my claim should have been a straightforward process, but instead, I encountered obstacle after obstacle. While they begrudgingly covered my medical expenses, they outright denied reimbursement for my missed flight, citing vague and arbitrary reasons that seemed to conveniently contradict the very wording of their own insurance policy.
Dealing with Global Excel proved to be an exercise in frustration. Their customer service was unhelpful and, at times, downright dismissive. It felt like they were more interested in finding reasons not to fulfill their obligations rather than genuinely assisting a customer in need.
This experience has left me questioning the integrity of TD Canada's travel insurance and their chosen provider, Global Excel. As travelers, we rely on insurance to provide a safety net during unforeseen circumstances, but when that safety net proves to be unreliable and unsupportive, it defeats the purpose entirely.
I urge fellow travelers to exercise caution when considering TD Canada's travel insurance and to thoroughly research their options before entrusting their well-being to a company that seems more interested in finding loopholes than providing genuine coverage and support.

The best bank in Canada has become the worst...I could write a novel on all the bad things that are now standard at TD. If I could give 0 zeros I would. Run from this bank. Sending emails is a waste of time.
Get ready for broken telephone
If you have investments with TD get ready for a game of broken telephone.
The people on the phone have very limited knowledge of investing and the people who do the work do not talk to customers. I have been stuck in a loop of "I don't knows" for 2 months trying to withdraw money from a LIFF. One perso even said he didnt know what a LIFF was.
Do not bank with TD
Avoid TD. They are a disappointment as a banking institution. They will steal your money.
We had a mortgage with TD but when it came time to renew we decided to use another institution. That bank sent notice to TD who decided to ignore the notice for weeks. TD then took it upon themselves to renew our mortgage instead of following the rules. Eventually they did accept the change in banks but not before taking a mortgage payment at their increased rate from us when we technically no longer had a mortgage with them. As if out of spite for changing banks. We contacted them but heard nothing back from them about this issue.
Please do your research about your bank. For us TD was a horrendous experience. Good luck
Broken system
Never trust any banks,FIAT currency is a scam, they are printing everyday millions of worthless unbacked currency. Definitely not the future !
Only one chance to get your PIN right
I use my Visa card on my iPhone almost always.
I had a large sale that tap would not work. I slide my plastic in and key in my PIN, it was wrong. Did not get another change to correct the PIN.
Unfortunately this abject customer service is the rule not the exception. I am convinced that since my card got hacked they are trying to get me to switch banks. Unfortunately I do contract work and it would be difficult to switch banks at the moment. RRSPs long term investments. Its going to cost me over $1000 to switch everything over, but piece of mind is priceless. I have no words to describe how bad TD customer service is, one would think with so many employees some would be good. Perhaps they save all their good customer service for Americans because they do more business in the USA. I worked a 18 month contract for TD in IT security, I should have switched all my banking then, cause their IT security is not even close to another bank I worked at.

Made my daughter cry when she alerted the bank to a deposit made into her account by their error. Closed her account and accused her of doing something illegal.
Not commit what they promise the rate…
Not commit what they promise the rate of mortgage.I have been pre approved the mortgage at the rate 4.74% for 3 years fixed for my another house on my son's name on May 23, 2023,. When comes to final approval after one months, they first taking time close to closing time about 2 weeks before closing and then when asked they said we can only give you at 5.53% rate. that's ridiculous and cheating. The branch manager also promised me to honor the pre approval rate, but she also helpless and saying our back office not agree. I have back up plan with BMO, and I go with BMO with pre approval rate they promised. So, Don't trust TD untrust.

Lies! Lies! Lies!
Horrific experience going on 2 years now.
They closed my line of credit after 15 years and increased my rate from TD Prime +2% to TD Prime +10% citing I had missed my Jan & Feb 2022 payments. When I produced proof of payment they hung up!
Another rep cited my credit score was the problem (was 835 down from 850). He told me it was the credit bureaus who set the rate. When I called them they told me they don't set rates they merely report your credit score.
Another rep told me because there was still a balance transfer on the account after the promotional period had expired. This caused the rate on my ENTIRE ACCOUNT BALANCE to increase to TD Prime +10% (not just the loss of the time limited rate on the remaining transfer balance).
Another rep told me they increased my rate because I did not migrate the closed account to a new TD Visa credit card. At the very start of all this a rep told me that if I did not migrate the account that it would close and I would not be able to use the card anymore but could continue to make payments as normal. That was the route I went as I wanted to pay this card off.
I just received another 'annual' review and my rate is going up again to TD Prime +15%. All told my preferential rate has gone up ~750%. I haven't even bothered to call them this time. Been there. Done that.
I went the ombudsman route but that was also a complete waste of time as 'interest rates' are outside of their purview. The conduct of the staff? Not even mentioned by them.
15 years I never missed a payment and I usually payed well over the minimum.
This is how TD Canada Trust rewards you for making your payments on time and maintaining an excellent credit score. Lying parasites. Avoid them at all costs.

Blocked my account and credit card on a long weekend. No one will help. I haven’t had access to my account since Saturday morning. It’s now Monday. I have spent over 5 hours on hold. I can’t get through to anyone. I have no money for food or gas. Td does not care about their customers. I am switching banks. So unacceptable.
Lately TD has been awful
I've been a loyal customer of TD Canada Trust for over 10 years now and throughout those years they've been nothing but great. Even going as far as letting my monthly account payment slide a few times when I was beyond broke which really helped a lot. But recently, I've been getting extremely frustrated mostly because our main TD branch downtown in the town I reside in, is almost always closed. I have noticed it's only open on certain weekends but majority of the time it's been closed Saturday & Sunday. I can tell a lot of customers are becoming fed up with this inconvenience as well. They need to work on that because even though it's the weekend, a lot of people like to get their banking done on the weekend but they're ultimately denied due to the ridiculous bank hours. Please, TD North Bay, fix that $hit, like right away. Thanks 😄
