Loved everything about this trip
Loved everything about this trip! The booking process was very smooth and informative, the travel agents were very responsive and made sure all details were considered. At the local level, the guide and the driver did all possible to make s feel comfortable in spite of the currently adverse conditions in the country (Cuba).
Well organised and a lovely guide!
I was really lucky that all the other group members were lovely people! Our guide Paula was amazingly organised- sending us hand drawn illustrations of our daily itineraries 🥺 She always had recommendations for places to go and helped to cater for the groups dietary requirements. She even got a card for the whole group to sign for my birthday which was going above and beyond
Costa rica is a lovely country and I especially liked the lake arenal boat trip, this was a great way to commute to la fortuna
The host ronnie was very good
The host ronnie was very good, he made everyone feel included and the best out of the group with his fun, friendly personality, the tour was brilliant, no time wasted lounging around as we were got up early morning to do fun activities all day and bond with the group.
My Inca Trail trek with Adventure…
My Inca Trail trek with Adventure People was fantastic! Such a great experience, from the office personnel to porters, chef, and especially, our guide Julio. I highly recommend this trek!
I would not recommend booking with The Adventure People
I would not recommend booking through this company.
The first time I booked, a customer service agent gave me incorrect pricing information. I relied on those figures when planning the trip and was later presented with a bill several hundred pounds higher than what I had been told.
I overlooked it because the trip itself was good (though that’s run by local providers, not this company).
Unfortunately the exact same thing happened when I booked again. Because of work I had to change my dates twice, and on both occasions I was given incorrect pricing information and then later sent a bill roughly four times higher than the amount quoted.
When I raised this, customer service did not apologise. Instead they asked whether I had checked the prices myself and suggested the booking had not been “confirmed”. The incorrect figures were provided in writing, and I relied on that information when making plans with others.
Given that they do not run the tours themselves and communication is very limited once you’ve paid, I would recommend booking directly with local providers instead.
Fantastic!
Fantastic! Start to finish was very well organised. Guide (Pooja) ensured we made it to Everest Base Camp by keeping a steady pace and ensuring we kept hydrated. Excellent balance of hike time and rest time. Would definitely recommend this trip with this company 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Clarify who you are travelling with
I was disappointed that I wasn’t travelling as The Adventure People. I only found out at last minute I was with Explore. I would not have chosen to travel with Explore. I would prefer a smaller company
India foodie tour
Communication with company was timely and detailed. Tour ran smoothly and provided a good range of experiences. Tour guide was first-class.
Very well organised trip
Very well organised trip. Great support from the adventure people. Very quick to respond to queries. A lot of bus travel on the trip but we did get to see and do a lot

Excellent fun packed with great people and an excellent local guide.
Excellent organisation, clear communication and brilliant quality tour and team
I completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek with local operator Icicles Adventures, organised through the Adventure People.
From the early process of choosing a tour to book, through to the very end, I was incredibly impressed with their professionalism and quality of service. TAP customer service was excellent, and then the team on the ground was wonderful in making sure I was safe and happy throughout the 9 days on the mountain, as well as the days before and after the trek in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
Puja is an outstanding guide, and any other travellers would be lucky to find themselves in one of her tour groups. From the start, she took the time to get to know me, what I am interested in, and how I like to travel, and she went out of his way to try to maintain that. The trekking days were organised meticulously, from timing the walks each day, arranging meals and guesthouse bookings, and ensuring I knew what to expect from day to day. I was given plenty of time to adjust to each new altitude, and each day of hiking was not overly strenuous. During my trek I came across others who were attempting the hike in less time, and most were showing some symptoms of altitude sickness, but thankfully with this careful planning, I was able to avoid this.
Throughout the trek Puja was able to provide interesting history and anecdotes about where we were or other places in Nepal, adding to my experience. She also took the time to take photos along the trail and share these with me as extra momentos of our time. We had one day of bad weather towards the top of the trail, and Puja was able to adjust our itinerary slightly to ensure we didn't get caught in the snow storm.
My porter was also professional and friendly, and I felt like I had a very supportive team behind me, which was nice as I was the only person booked in to this particular tour.
The guesthouses were basic, but with the sleeping bag and down jacket provided by the tour company, I was able to get warm enough at night. Food along the trail was simple, but nutritious. I brought snacks along with me, but barely needed these, as I felt the three meals provided daily were adequate for my energy output.
Overall, this was a wonderful tour, a great experience, and I hope to be able to return to Nepal to complete more treks with this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a fantastic and safe journey to Annapurna Base Camp.

Hendri is the best guide
I did the 5 week Bangkok to Gili T and I had Hendri as my tour guide and I must say he was absolutely OUTSTANDING. He was such a funny character and also such a shoulder to lean on - especially when it was me and 4 guys in a group :( He really listened and gave us advice on all sorts of things including culture, food, and activities. He is genuinely one of the loveliest people I have ever met and if you have a chance to visit his hometown in Indonesia - do it! It’s so worth it. I really hope he’s my tour guide for a future trip because he not only loves his job but he loves the people along the way ❤️

This was my first experience with The Adventure People and it was a great success from my point of view.
Brilliant
Brilliant - couldn’t fault anything !!!
Customer services helped out independent travel agent massively when we had to do some changes to the team. Livvy at The Adventure People was amazing!!
The tour itself was brilliant - the guide was so knowledgeable and fun, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide!!!
There is nothing I would have changed about the whole adventure and can’t wait to book the next one!

The whole trip was brilliant fun and showed you a lot of Costa Rica, the animals are great and beaches amazing particularly the sun set
Very disappointing experience would not recommend
This was honestly one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had, and I would not recommend this tour to anyone.
I paid an extra £700 overall, including £60 for a private room on the first night, yet I was placed in a shared room without being told in advance. I specifically paid for privacy, so this was unacceptable. Someone turned up into my room at 01.30am and woke me up.
The trip was overfilled and poorly organised. There was no real group atmosphere at all, it felt less like a tour and more like being shuttled around on a bus from place to place. I booked this trip to meet new people, but I was advised it would be for people in their 40s. In reality, almost everyone was retired and no younger than 70, which made the experience feel completely mis-sold. It honestly felt like an old people’s week trip, not what was advertised.
The hotel on the first night was in very poor condition, especially considering the extra money paid. On top of that, we had to pay for transportation for multiple trips, which should have been included.
Only one trip was included, and even that was badly handled. There was a mix-up with dates the tour guide said the trip was on Friday, while the itinerary said Thursday. Because of this confusion, we missed the trip entirely.
Even worse, a night walk went ahead without us, despite the tour guide knowing we were eating our evening meal. As a result, we missed the Friday night walk, which is completely unacceptable. During the day, we then had to pay £40 ourselves for a walk in the cloud forest. The bus waited for everyone else, but the walk itself was rushed and we saw very little — overall, not worth the money at all.
This trip was not good enough, poorly organised, misleading in its marketing, and absolutely not worth the extra costs. It was a waste of money, and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed.
Worst experience of my life. I would never book this tour again.

Very enjoyable & well organised tour
Very enjoyable & well organised tour. Don, the tour leader was excellent, as was his crew.
Had a great time in Sri Lanka
Had a great time in Sri Lanka. Our tour guide Don was lovely, we also had a mini bus driver and assistant who came with us for the whole trip. The accommodation was mixed in quality, however for the price it was as expected. Each hotel had a lovely pool, however the first hotel was a bit disappointing. A lot of the hotels are remote and it can be difficult to eat out , the hotel restaurants were generally good and not very expensive. I think the physical rating stated is a bit low, I think it’s at least a 3. There were quite a lot of steep uneven walks and can be hard in the heat. I would recommend good trainers and sports wear as you will be very sweaty.
It was quite a full on tour and didn’t get much chance of any free time, although we did do a lot in the time frame. The safari was brilliant, some of the group went on a safari in Dambulla, they said that the one included was much better and less stressful for the animals.
The Itinerary mentioned you need an overnight bag for the safari, this wasn’t the case, as the mini bus brought our bags with us.
Overall this was a great tour and would recommend.
I did the Everest Base Camp trek in December
I did the Everest Base Camp trek in December and it was amazing. The Adventure People made it easy to book and provided advice on kit and also booked my flights and additional nights accommodation. I was met by my guide Raj, who was experienced and made the trek a safe and fulfilling experience. The tour company in Nepal was Icicles Adventure Treks and Tours and nothing was too much trouble with organising additional activities around Kathmandu. Our porters, Brabin and Gopal were also amazing, we all felt very looked after. Thank you!
