I have recently received our first 'Mountain Bear' box and I am delighted.
We have received boxes intended for younger children in the past, which was appropriate to the children's ability at the time, but it is wonderful to see that the range has been expanded to include an offer for older children, with an appropriate level of challenge fitting for this age group.
The box I received, along with activities linked to the National Curriculum and appropriately-challenging reading material, contained a Daily Journal with prompts to support children with mindfulness and positive thinking. I thought this was such a thoughtful touch given that SATS preparation and all of the pressure that brings plays such a big role in the lives of older primary children.
This didn't detract at all from the rigour of the academic activities and books provided, so I am really pleased with this month's offering.

A really lovely pack, with three excellent books and some great activities around a fourth short story. My daughter has really enjoyed the activities and we can't wait for her second box to arrive.

Its good, but not enough. It took my son to finish bag 2 hours. I was expecting month worth weekly activities. Not sure to continue my subscription. Its not enough for such a money especially nowadays every penny is valuable.

My daughters (2 and 5) were very excited to receive their boxes - the personal touch with their names printed on it made the package even more special.

The content of the boxes were very age-appropriate and tailored to their interests and reading levels. Both daughters were fascinated by the books and activity sheets and throughly enjoyed completing and reading them.

The customer service is just outstanding - I got in touch over the weekend to ask for support in selecting the correct reading level for my 5 year old as her school uses a different book scheme. I have received a reply and advice quickly on the same evening. The suggested reading level was spot on - my daughter did not want to put down her books and activity sheets all day long.

Brilliant subscription service - I will definitely recommend them to fellow mums and dads!

My daughter gets so excited every month when her box comes. The books are fantastic and she loves them so much. The worksheets are fun and so good at helping with Phonics. The customer service is amazing and I will be signing up my younger daughter in the new year also.

We look forward to our package arriving every month and I often look excitedly before my toddler so I know what we are doing. My little one (aged 2) is a lover of books and the activities are fantastic for giving ne some structure to work with him and aid learning with an idea of what my expectations should be for his development.

The only downside for me is the cost. I understand the need to price as it is but in the current climate it is on the extravagant side (at least for this household)

Regular email updates and seasonal reminders. Book package always arrives regularly. We always look forward to receiving the package and to see what is inside. Excellent quality. Variety. Encouragement. Tips on reading and improving enjoyment of books and reading.

One of the activities was the same as we got in the previous one three little pigs story it would have been nice this time to have something different

Tailoring is easy and starlight forward process. Pausing and restarting the subscription same so easy and fast.
Yes it is monthly subscription but it well worth it.

While our school have been brilliant in providing us with lots of reading resources, I’ve found receiving a monthly box has provided a bit of variety, and children love getting things through the post right?!

Each box includes a selection of age-appropriate books, flashcards of new sounds and tricky words for that month, activity sheets to practise the sounds, a reward chart, stickers and a bookmark which my daughter loves to write her name on as soon as we open the box. Boxes range from as young as two right up to age eight and there’s a different bear club for each age bracket.

I’ve been blown away by how spot on every box has been for my daughter’s ability, for example the box we received last month included the common exception words which were exactly what she has been learning at school.

The best thing is she asks to do the sheets and books from her box without me having to prompt her. I think because she knows it’s her box which has been sent especially for her through the post, and the materials are engaging, not too difficult yet still challenging - she loves earning a sticker after each activity or book read 📚.

Plus (yes, another one!) their customer service is 5⭐️, our box went missing in the chaos of the Christmas rush last year and they put another one in the post straight away, no questions asked 😊.

Quick delivery, great quality box and quick response to query from customer services

Been with the bear cam read for about 18 months and it has been great. Last month I got in contact with customer services as an item was missing from the box. I got a reply in 24 hours and it was included in my next box. Brilliant service and my daughter has progressed soo much. It is wonderful to see.

Sophie loved getting the books to read. Even tried reading some of the adult bits. It was lovely to sit with her and listen to her read.
