Lovely pack received. Well targeted phonics books and activities for each stage. Only cancelled as family circumstances are different now.

I think I get as excited for this to arrive as my 3.5 Yr old daughter. The subscription is excellently tailored to her ability and interest level. She can't read yet, but the Bear subscription is building an excellent foundation as well as teaching her about the world around her.

I highly recommend this reading program. After receiving just 1 pack my daughter has already been moved up a reading band and complimented by her Teacher on the improvement.

I initially stumbled across The Bear Can Read as an advert on social media. I was a bit skeptical about it at first because a lot of the time the businesses advertised have hidden costs. However, I decided to have a proper look around the website and decided to chance a box and see what it actually contained.
My reason for wanting to try it - my 4 year old was sad that she couldn’t yet read but hadn’t gathered enough skills to enable her to. I thought this would support her.
When the box arrived I was quite pleased by the contents. There were books and worksheets that were age appropriate for my child and full of good content. I carried on my subscription (which can be cancelled at any time) and each month the box was consistently full with great items. At the same time, my 4 year old was excited when the box arrived through the letterbox with her name on. Alongside her phonics lessons at school, she was able to use her newfound knowledge to decode and blend the phonics items, complete worksheets, and enjoy books from both fiction and non fiction categories.
I’m glad I trialled this subscription and have continued to get the boxes. I particularly like how you can select a reading level appropriate to your child and if you wish to move up or down a level then you can. For me this is great as all kids progress at different levels so they’re being looked at by their individual capabilities.
I have recently gone on to move my 4 year old up to the next level. I figured if it was too much I could go back down a level as you have complete control of this, but she proved ready for the challenge and looks forward to her next box every month.
Would I recommend? Yes. A passion for reading is a great thing to have!

Good selection of books and always something different to keep their interest each time. Just had the first box for my youngest who has been trying to steal her older brothers books for a while now!

Delightful boxes with fun activities, lovely books, and nice little treats.

Great service, speedy delivery c but most importantly my son loves the books and activities they set every month. Reason for not having 5 stars is mainly that we received books from a series of books which we already have, and there aren’t enough activity sheets to last the whole month. Otherwise, it’s amazing and definitely broadens our reading journey at home.

My girl loves to recieve her pack in the post, she loves opening up to see what new books and activities she has got this time. We started during lockdown and has kept her interested in reading 😊

Great box to encourage reading. Varying topics keep it interesting for child and parent. We always look forward for the box to arrive. Would recommend.

I think the concept is a brilliant idea, it’s made my little boy look forward to reading new books and learning activities. He absolutely loves the little surprises he gets every month along side his books. A great way to encourage reading while being fun.

We have recently received our second boxes for both of our children. We love the contents and especially love the selection in my sons box being a mix of fiction and non fiction. My daughter really engages and enjoys the different activities supplied. I really like how the levels follow alongside levels at school which has really helped us to keep track as we recently decided to home educate our son as he has additional needs but our daughter attends nursery and plans to attend school. I look forward to receiving the boxes myself just to see the excitement in my children’s faces. Also had recent interaction with customer service which has been really helpful and easy to get in touch. Really pleased with The Bear Can Read

Great books a lovely variety and lots of activities to make reading fun

Absolutely lovely product- everything is well thought out and presents the stages of reading in a really fun way. It's also all beautifully designed.

This is a fantastic initiative and one that really is thoughtful and effective in its intent to support families in the quest to help children with their reading.

My little girl loves the book boxes and the books are high quality and enjoyable. As someone who wanted to learn more about how to teach my little girl to read, the texts that are phonics based have been superb.

I also want to add that the company itself is refreshingly personable. I’ve emailed a few times with queries and they’ve always responded within 24 hours. And when I say queries, I don’t mean complaints - I’ve simply wanted to know more and they’ve always helped. Likewise, they are keen for feedback and have an impressive desire to help all to make reading an easy, accessible and enjoyable part of life.

Really great, realised I couldn’t get through the box activities each month so I cancelled it. Received lovely email asking for feedback and offering a whole range of options to suit my needs with zero pressure. Chose to move to but monthly, and got a discount. Really love the contents of the box as does my little girl!
