My 15" foldaway shelf.
My 15" foldaway shelf arrived this morning.
It took me well over an hour to install and not the "fitted in minutes" as advertised.
My Greenhouse has standard bars, but the bolts provided just spin in the channel, rather than locking into place as the nut is tightened. They are too small.
So with the aid of pliers, the nut shank was held, as the wing nuts, that have replaced the former style of nut, that are sharp, were eventually tightened.
I can see myself having to make modifications with Cable Ties, Wire, Chain & Hooks to be on the safe side.
The last thing I want is for everything to end up on the floor.
What a disappointment.

Excellent quality and value
We ordered our Robinsons Regal greenhouse through Yorkshire Greenhouses & Garden Rooms Ltd, and the service from both companies has been second to none. Delivery was on the day organised, by a very friendly, polite driver.
Our builder laid the foundation and built the wall ready for Chris (Yorkshire Greenhouses) to come and erect it on the day planned. We were very impressed with his work and was a pleasure to meet. The quality of the green house is excellent and am so looking forward to many happy hours in it.

Not brilliant was told delivery was 6/8 weeks but probably around 6,been told today it will be 8wks and 2 days,and only thing I can do about it is cancel,I stupidly believed this company was the best,so the moral of the story is don’t believe them for delivery dates,unless you live in the south you will pay extra delivery not to get it on time.

Hercules Gloucester Greenhouse
I purchased a Hercules Gloucester Greenhouse at Dobbies in Ponteland. Paul Richardson handled the sale and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the various products. Paul informed me about the order's progress, and the process was efficient and professional.
I wanted the greenhouse installed, and Paul provided me with a list of approved installers. I decided to go with ODR Groundworks, who did an excellent job laying a base and building the greenhouse.
The greenhouse is a quality product. I couldn't be more satisfied
Exemplary Customer Service
About 2 months ago I purchased a greenhouse in kit, which I eventually got round assembling. I made the purchase at Dobbies Garden Centre in Milton Keynes where the representative of the company was most helpful and knowledgeable, without any pressure salesmanship. This was a good omen for dealing with the company.
During construction I had some minor problems which I contacted the company about direcectly on 3 separate occasions; each time with a different staff member.
On each occasion I spoke with a human being who immediately understood my problem and provided a fitting result. I can’t remember the last time I have had near perfect service.
What did they do?
1. I accidentally broke one of the large panes of toughened glass. No problem, they replaced it free of charge.
2. The trapezoidal piece of glass In the apex over the door did not appear to fit. They realised I was missing a piece called the glass jack and sent it immediately at no charge.
3. Included in the kit was an autovent roof unit that had the wrong piston fitted. A replacement is being made free of charge and I don’t even need to return the original.
Because the autovent is provided by a third party through the company, I have decided to post the original to the company at my cost, so they can see what the third party provided.
If only all companies could function like The Greenhousepeople, there would be no need for customer relations departments

Will Carter at the Norwich branch was excellent. Long after our initial enquiry he kept us informed of offers. These were personal communications keeping us in touch with what's available, not harassing generic email dumping. Very impressed and would thoroughly recommend Will at Notcutts, Norwich.

The delivery was two packages short. The delivery driver contacted head office and they arrived 7.00 am the next day. Both delivery drivers were very polite & helpful. Excellent greenhouse, Outstanding customer service.

Missing The Vital Fastenings
The shed I ordered came without the set of screws, nails and other fittings needed to erect it. The rep I spoke to said Oh sorry but we are all human and make mistakes. What ever happened to the concept of checking an order before it goes out for delivery. Poor quality control doesn’t cover it. However, the Scottish rep did earn points for phoning me shortly after the delivery and was very helpful. It moved the review from a 1 to a 3

We ordered from the branch at Dobbies and Dave the salesman was fantastic. The shed arrived on the agreed date well packaged with a great driver. Reading the instructions is a must but fantastic little shed.
Great product and excellent customer service.
Great product, good customer service. I ordered the Robinson Regent Greenhouse and was pleased with the helpful attitude of the customer service staff. The delivery was on time and the courier was pleasant and helpful. We opted to put the greenhouse up ourselves because there are no greenhouse installation technicians in our remote area of the UK. We struggled but the team at their head office gave us good advice and we eventually managed to erect it. We damaged a minor component while erecting it but they sent us a replacement part without charge. Good company, however, I would recommend using one of their installers for the toughened glass models as it is a very tricky task best achieved by an expert.

The customer service from this company has been second to none. Not only that their greenhouse product is excellent and includes all the features you would expect and all at a very reasonable price. I cannot rate them high enough.

The salesman at Dobbies outright lied. He said if I paid the deposit on the day he would include the little bistro table and chairs. After I had signed all the forms and paid the deposit he said "oh, that was just a joke". The greenhouse arrived but we were some parts missing, the company did send them out straightaway. The quality of some of the wood was very poor, I'm worried it will not last despite the fact that I have smothered it in linseed oil. There were some huge splits and splinters to deal with. Two of the most shaped pieces of glass were different sizes, warped and had to be bodged in with extra silicon. The cresting doesn't fit and had to be sawn down to make it fit. At the price I paid I just expected a lot better quality than having to bodge it together. I was already unhappy with the saleman, they didn't pull it back with the quality.

The Hercules Gloucester 5x6 Challenge
Firstly, we are really pleased with our Hercules Gloucester 6x5 Greenhouse. We had to wait 6 weeks from order placing to delivery, but that gave us time to prepare the base. Delivery came on the right day which was a Friday, the driver called ahead and was really helpful. It was disappointing that on the first afternoon of construction a key roof support bar was missing which prevented any progress that whole following weekend. I then ordered the missing part which came the following week. It is very frustrating that many of the parts are not numbered in correspondence with the instructions this does leave you guessing somewhat that you have the right part, but after a while you get into the zone or the mindset of whoever wrote the instructions. Be careful not to over tighten the small nuts and bolts as they will shear very easily. You will need two people to help with the glazing. They also seem to deliver the bar capping for the biggest greenhouse in the range, as a result we seem to have lots leftover which seems a waste. A few little finishing touches to blank off end pieces especially at the front roof apex would have been nice, and if the plastic H window connections to the front and rear were the same colour as the Greenhouse rather than black. In summary we’re pleased with the outcome, would I want to do it again …NO. Probably would have given a 2/5 for the building experience then maybe a 4/5 for the end result if there hadn’t been a key missing part. Russ & Fiona Davison.
Bought a shed with an agreed lead time…
Bought a shed with an agreed lead time on delivery of mid April - when chased for confirmation as none was sent - told that sub contractor ‘Malvern’ had changed delivery date to mid May - no excuses nor reasons nor contact. Really very poor comms - and thanks to this I have a garden full of equipment that cannot be stored sitting under tarp!!
