I like the fact fact that we could progress through the course at our own pace.

However, there are times where I feel really overwhelmed with the amount of assignments (theory/practical) that I find to be really excessive, and the fact that there's no arranged group / one-on-one help session is making it difficult to complete the course.

This course has been outstanding in every way. I decided to pursue a career change while working full-time in a high-pressure job and juggling the demands of single parenting. The fully online, self-paced format has been a perfect fit for my lifestyle. I’ve learned so much already and have felt genuinely supported throughout the journey. Any questions or concerns I’ve had have been answered promptly and thoughtfully.

Now at the halfway point, I can honestly say I can’t fault the course. The videos and materials are both engaging and informative, and I already feel well-equipped to take on this exciting—if slightly daunting—new path. I also really value that the Diploma provides a strong foundation across all areas of the industry, giving me the flexibility to shape my future in any direction I choose.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this course to anyone considering a career in the field.

Through this course I have learnt lots of new skills that are easy to understand and very effective in helping me create beautiful makeup looks. The feedback given by the tutors after each assignment is constructive and helpful. I would recommend this course to people who have an interest and passion for makeup!

Amazing course with hands on experience on a variety of models.

This course is wonderful, it gives you a foundation for makeup and allows you to be creative.

Instructors are flexible and will allow you to model for assignments if necessary but will require you to have models besides yourself available, and to be successful in this industry you need to be able to have practice on multiple types of canvases.

This is a self paced course, so be prepared for that but also be prepared to have support when you need it. For a general interest course, or to supplement your photography portfolio of just get the basics this course is wonderful building block to get your foot in the door as a MUA.

If you're looking for something more comprehensive, check out a local school with a co-op placement but for someone looking to create, influence, or work on your own - this course ticks all the boxes! :)

This course has been great and very helpful in my journey to learn more about makeup. Some photo demonstrations in the booklet are a little hard to follow and would benefit from having videos for all of them, but otherwise everything has been amazing!

All I can say is Wow, I have learned a lot from you, the video's and all the tips gave me more confidence in my abilities to pursue my career and goals, I also learned a lot more on the finer details on especially stage makeup, and I would like to thank you for the opportunity. I will recommend the company to anyone, who's interested in learning the finer art of makeup, if they want to build a career or just for the fun of doing character makeup.

I'm currently enrolled in the online program at the Institute of Makeup Artistry. I'm very happy with the overall experience. The courses are jam packed with great information and it's a very well thought out and well rounded program. Student's are provided a nice back-end with which to manage their work, a relationship with one of their educators and an online portfolio.

Overall I think IMA is a great opportunity to learn the art of make-up in a structured yet work from home, online setting for a very reasonable price.

The modules are jam-packed. I would recommend "upping" and redoing the videos. It seems to be old fashioned and very long, but it's an essential part of the course. Please make it fun to look at. I would also suggest email reminders and interactions, time goes by so quickly and then you end up having to buy a course extention.

I am currently busy with the MUA course and the past few months have been difficult due to health issues. I love the fact that I can continue at my pace and have a tutor available when I need assistance. The course format is easy to follow and what I love the most is that I am able to download the modules and print. So even if I do not have access to my laptop, I can still read through the material to practice

I love how easy the course was to understand. My only addition I’d add is to make an easier access to a student portal to talk to other students as I wasn’t able to make use of it.

Very good course, it’s very in detail and it teaches a lot of things and different types of makeup applications. It even has a hair module aswell to have an idea in styling!!! The tutors are always kind and help me. Very good course.

The modules are pact with info and the videos are clear and the modules are interesting and fun. This course is teaching me everything I need to know as I have previously done a basic course at another place and they didn't teach me all that I needed to know. This has been a great way to obtain my learning needs at my own pace without undertaking full time study. So much is covered in an understandable and structured way. I have learned so much and am really invested in the process.
The tutors give great constructive feedback and tips when you've done your assignment which is education gold for me, plus have been responsive & helpful when I have got in touch.

I looked everywhere for the right makeup course, and I finally found this one. There are 12 modules in total and they are very in depth and I have learnt so much. Each module has an assignment and you are allocated a tutor who marks them. My tutor is always there when I need any advice and doesn't take long to get back to me. I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to work in the makeup industry. It is by far the best course i have studied and i feel confident now to go out and establish my career as a bridal makeup artist.

This course is excellent. It is online and so you can do it in your own time but it also feels practical due to the videos and the interaction with the tutors. The tutors give great feedback and get back to you very quickly.

This course is amazing, I have learnt so much and will continue with my studies in doing this course I've learnt from all different product to equipments and techniques that is needed in the makeup industry.

The modules are easy to understand and the videos are a fantastic visual guide to assist with the learning process.the aspects covered have allowed me to learn new skills and step outside of my comfort zone. I like the fact that the tutors are only a message away if need be. The feedback provided by my tutor is in depth and constructive. I feel I would like a module on common makeup “issues” and how to overcome e.g separation of makeup on the nose etc.
