Something just clicked

Sonny's coaching for Clean and Jerk was exceptional! Despite feeling a bit nervous initially, Sonny's welcoming demeanor quickly put me at ease. Unreal and insightful session

Unreal session with Sonny today! His coaching cues were very easy to understand and implement, a master of his craft! Within just two hours he tweaked my snatch technique, stripping it right back to the basics before building it back up to ensure my lifts look and feel a lot slicker.

Cleaned up my cleans in record time

Sonny helped tidy up my cleans SO MUCH in just a couple of short hours. His pointers were concise and effective - you can really tell he knows his stuff when it comes to Olympic lifting, but moreover knows how to convey information in a simple way to make a really good coach. I’ve got more confidence in my abilities than I have in a very long time and it’s thanks to his help. He’s also a great hype man, and that counts for heaps when you’re going for a PB. If you want a professional but fun coaching experience, I cannot recommend him enough!!

The Lifting Zone is the place to go if…

The Lifting Zone is the place to go if you are looking to improve your Olympic weightlifting skills. I was personally struggling with heavy snatches for a long time and thanks to The Lifting Zone I finally understood why. My issues were spotted straight away and I was told exactly what to do to fix them. Awesome experience!

The best coaching

It’s amazing to be taught by someone who has so much experience, and really does know the ins and outs of lifting. Even minor issues are picked up and fixed, making for a really beneficial experience

Poetry in motion

Poetry in motion, amazing watching Sonny giving feedback and teaching how the smallest adjustments can make the biggest impact, he gave me confidence going into the movement with the adjustments and I PB’D by 25kg

Injured But Supported

6 week squat protocol

Amazing
Can’t fault anything!
Programmes are easy to follow and have good videos explaining what to do
Completed the 6 week squat protocol alongside the mobility manual and smashed my pb
Previous 120 with not great depth
New pb 140 great depth and moved very comfortably (could have gone higher)
Would highly recommend to everyone

Completed 12 week program

I recently completed a 12 week Olympic weightlifting program and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The program focused on the classic clean and jerk and snatch lifts, and gave me the structure and coaching that I needed to increase my strength and power. I’ve increased my one rep maxes for these lifts and have developed a greater awareness of my body and the importance of proper technique. I feel more empowered and confident in and out of the gym, and I attribute that directly to the knowledge and guidance I’ve gained from this program. The program broke down complex movements and put them into achievable components, allowing me to get out of my head and focus on getting into my power. I’d highly recommend this program to anyone looking to develop their strength, technique, and confidence

Best decision I made

I started working with Sonny and the TLZ team shortly after his seminar in August, and I can honestly say it was the best decision. I began in CrossFit when I was 16, and after moving to London for uni, I realised it was Oly lifting that I was genuinely interested in. I was self-taught for a year and then signed on with TLZ to achieve my goals for self-improvement and gain confidence in the lifts (especially the Snatch), and Sonny and the team have done just this for me.
At the end of our first 12 weeks on the Ultimate Guide to Olympic Lifting, I refined my technique, acquired much more knowledge to develop as a coach myself and saw the progress not only by hitting PB after PB but also through developing my confidence as a lifter and a coach. So much so that I’ve signed up to continue with TLZ and make amazing progress as these guys have allowed me to! 🤗 I look forward to continuing on working with this lovely team and seeing where it’ll all go next!

Definitely give these guys a go!

Good keeps getting better

I have been working with Sonny and the TLZ team for a few months now, starting out as a complete newbie to Olympic weightlifting I was fearful that I’d be well out of my depth and being slightly older with physical limitations that I’d struggle. However the reality has been very different: Sonny tailors the programme to your needs and capability; he provides advice on ancillary exercises and recovery / nutrition. The weekly online reviews always leave me feeling more motivated to improve with precise things to work on, the comments are critical but constructive. These continue to get better with the addition of world class coaches, guest speakers and new tools. I couldn’t recommend the TLZ VIP service anymore!

Unreal results!

This 6 week squat program was like magic!
After having several injuries this year, spraining my ankle and breaking my wrist, I wanted to get back into a program and work towards some goals. I set a realistic 1RM for the squat program of 87kg as I hadn't squatted regularly since January 22 (1RM was 92 back then). The sessions weren't exhausting, I had done the hatch program before and it was ALOT of volume but this one felt manageable and I really enjoyed how varied it was and how you can do it alongside other things. I PB'ed my front squat from 77.5 to 85kg (with arms crossed due to my wrist still healing) and Pb'ed my back squat from 92 to 100kg!!! Absolutely dream! I never thought I could have done it so easily (more in the tank), this had been a goal of mine for the last 3 years so it was a huge achievement. This squat program is unreal and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to increase their 1rm while also enjoying their own training. Thanks Sonny and the lifting zone!

I have finished Sonny’s 6 week squat…

I have finished Sonny’s 6 week squat plan and went from 185kg to 200kg back squat and 160 - 170kg front squat. Couldn’t recommend Sonny and his programs more if I tried. Since working with Sonny my Technique and strength has improved dramatically. I have done many programs over the years - this is the best I have found.

PR snatch, c&j, front and back squat

Not only have I PRed my snatch, Clean & Jerk, front and back squat during my training with the lifting zone but my technique and mobility has improved tremendously. I also enjoy the continual feedback and access to a supportive community. Love my experience and I’m excited to continue to grow my skills in OLY lifting with The Lifting Zone.

Overall Amazing Experience

I’ve been working with the team at The Lifting Zone for about 10 month. I’ve PB’d every major lift (which was the goal). However, what I’ve learned from the team has made me such a better coach and reignited my passion for Olympic lifting and CrossFit. Lastly, the community is great. Lots of participation from your peers just ramps everything up for me.

Sonny’s 6 week squat program is…

Sonny’s 6 week squat program is amazing! My back squat went from 190kg to 205kg and my front squat went from 170kg to 180kg! Sonny and the team were awesome, so helpful assisting me as much as I needed along the way. Highly recommend this program to anyone looking to improve their front squat, back squat or gain strength to help them with their Olympic lifts. It’s a 10 out of 10 for me.

This program is beyond amazing

This program is amazing! Sonny and his team were there to help walk you through everything and if you have any issues or questions their response is fast. When I started this journey I wasn't that confident being under the bar. Now that I'm coming to the end of the program, I'm more confident under the bar and my form has improved greatly. All while hitting personal bests. The best part is, if you miss a workout and still want to do it, Sonny and the team can rearrange the weekly schedule to fit that missed day. This is my first time using online coaching or coaching in general and I can say it was the best experience! I highly recommend this program if your looking to improve your form and hit some awesome pr’s.

Excellent coaching

Excellent coaching
Exceptionally well setup coaching program which includes weekly face to face called with Sonny and training plan customised to your personal needs and adapted as needed.
My Olympic lifting technique improved over the 12 weeks and culminated in PBs in both lifts and passing previous sticking points.

Legendary Coaching

Sonny is such a pro, not only in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting, but also as a coach. This is the first time in five years of lifting that I can actually see tangible progress. The entire team at the Lifting Zone is very helpful and professional too. If you’re wondering whether or not to sign up, just do it. This was the best decision I’ve made for my lifting journey.

TLZ listens to what you want as a lifter and makes a well structured plan where they also go through OLY from the basics to more advanced explanations The learning experience is huge. With ton of information available for yourself to dig through as well as an individual consultation with Sonny to really dig into what you're doing every week. Love that he's no trying to be too nice about certain things and tells you what and how to improve as well as pointing out when you make progress.
