Best amongst them all

I've been a guardian with LOWE for more than 6 years. LOWE is a very good company amongst a generally dodgy landscape (from what I hear from various sources). They are very good at reacting quickly to maintenance issues which is truly the most important thing you need as electricity, water, a working kitchen and shower are really what matters most. As an example, in one instance on Christmas eve, the founder of the company himself helped with an urgent electrical issue - this was 5 years ago and the company has grown a lot since then. They have, in the past, also been effective at reacting quickly to conflict resolution and truly trying to make things work. Other than these aspects, your experience will most likely depend on the building/area you are a guardian in.

A top notch guardian company

I am just coming up to a year with Lowe, as a guardian in a Grade II listed building and I cannot say enough good things about the company. From the start of the process with Joseph to the moving in and working with Teresa living here so far has been a breeze! Teresa has always been very professional and responsive to emails and very helpful.

To address a few of the negative reviews I can confirm that - in accordance with our License Agreements - we are always notified of property inspection at least 24 hours in advance, and attendance cards are left in each room. Maintenance requests have been attended to quickly and professionally and we always know when a contractor is attending.

As to the comment about "market rent" being charged, that could not be further from the truth in my area. My license fee is almost £500 a month less than what my previous private landlord was charging. True I do not have a private kitchen or bath but it is well worth it to save on rent, utilities and council tax.

We have a very good group of licensees, thanks to the solid vetting process used. This includes all the standard checks including employment verification, right to rent, etc.

I hope to remain in this property a long time, but if not then I know there are a number of other wonderful Lowe properties and I will not hesitate to moving to a different building just to remain with Lowe!

Mark and avoid

My experience with Lowe Group Guardianship has been deeply concerning. The company frequently disregarded residents' privacy by entering the property while people were in the shower, demonstrating a lack of respect for personal space. Additionally, they often brought unknown individuals into the flat without any record of who these people were, raising serious security and safety concerns.

The property was also plagued by clear signs of drug use, which was not adequately addressed by the guardianship company. Furthermore, the location was used as a forwarding address for a limited company, which added to the chaos and lack of oversight. Overall, the management was exploitative and neglectful, failing to provide a safe or respectful living environment.

This is now the third negative review you have left us since moving out in July 2024, and while we understand that not every experience will be perfect, we do want to ensure the facts are represented accurately.

Firstly, you are not our CEO, Tim Lowe, despite the name used on this review. Secondly, any post received at the property was addressed to the owner, not LOWE, and we have no control over external mail services.

Regarding property visits, we always maintain a clear and recorded log of who enters any of our sites. These site visits are outlined in our licence agreements, which every guardian acknowledges before moving into a LOWE-managed property. Additionally, we have no record of any guardian from the flats in question raising concerns about drug use, and had this been reported, we would have taken appropriate action.

We take all concerns seriously and remain committed to providing safe, well-managed spaces for our guardians. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, we would be happy to speak with you directly.

The company looked out for me big time

The company looked out for me big time. They really helped me when I was in a sort of negative place after a break up, and needed a place to live without fuss. It was very swift. Easy to apply, easy to get housed. I felt supported, and for a housing organisation, that’s kind of wild. I’m super grateful. I can see that they work hard and try to be as supportive as they have the capacity to be.

First time, great experience

I'd never considered living in a Guardian property before, but with LOWE, I've been able to live in a huge and very much out-of-the-ordinary building in an amazing location with great housemates at a very low cost compared to renting in the same area. This has given me the flexibility to work on my own projects in theatre and tech and focus on my career.

Reliable and caring

I've been a guardian with Lowe for about 1.5 years and I have to say it's been fantastic!

The flat I look after was in great conditions when I got in (they had really taken care of it!) and I didn't have problems with it during my staying. Bathroom and kitchen fully working, pipes in good conditions, windows are double glazed, heating fully working in every room, kitchen very clean (very clean!!), and cooker and fridge were provided! I wanted some work to be done on it and they completed it in the first weeks.
Lowe provides an excellent service, both customer service and maintenance. They have an online platform to report issues which works very efficiently! Teresa and Isaac from head office have always answered quickly to all my requests and worked hard to satisfy them! The maintenance team is great too, they are all very nice and promptly get to the property (based on priority) to fix any type of issue. They also do 1 monthly check every time, all very nice when they get in.
Lowe always looked to me a solid and serious company that you can trust and make sure you have an enjoyable and authentic guardianship.
I would definitely recommend it and remain with them till my next step!

Amazing communication and quick to sort any issues

I have lived in a Lowe property for just over 2 years. My experience has been fantastic so far and they are without a doubt better than any landlord or rental agency I have had! A big shout out to Teresa, who manages Lowe's help desk. Any maintenance issue is dealt with very quickly and Teresa's communication is always fast and friendly.

I regularly recommend being a licensee with Lowe to anyone I meet who is interested in the idea of living in a guardianship.

If you're looking to live in a guardianship I would recommend LOWE

I've lived in three LOWE properties and have had a great experience so far. The properties are well maintained and communication about visits and work being carried out is usually very good. The procedure for reporting faults and maintenance issues is simple and issues usually get resolved quickly.

As with any guardianship arrangement there's always a bit of anxiety when the agreement comes to an end but Lauren and the team were really helpful in relocating us when it did happen and made the process of moving quick and easy.

If you ever have to pop into their office you will be greeted with a smile and good vibes all round which I always appreciate!

a guardianship experience rooted in empathy and kindness

The Lowe Group has been absolutely incredible! Thanks to them, we have the privilege of living in a beautiful property near Battersea Park, where we've been able to create our own little green oasis in the back garden. Our home, a former office space, was already in great condition, but what truly sets Lowe apart is their warmth and flexibility—they allow us to make the space feel like home, something many other guardianship companies simply don’t offer.

From the moment we moved in, it was clear that Lowe operates with empathy and kindness above profit. They genuinely care about the well-being of their guardians, and that care extends beyond just providing housing. We've felt so welcomed—not only by the Lowe team but also by the local community. The neighbors seem relieved to have people living here who truly take care of the property, and we've already joined several neighborhood groups, making it feel like home.

What stands out the most is how Lowe treats people—not as numbers, but as valued members of their community. They take the time to check in, build real relationships, and make sure their guardians feel heard and supported. Unlike other guardianship companies, where interactions can feel purely transactional, Lowe fosters a sense of trust and respect. Even when things must get stressful in their office, their team remains kind, approachable, and ready to listen.

Their property inspectors are respectful and don’t impose unnecessary visits, creating a far more comfortable experience. And the maintenance team is not only skilled but also patient—especially when listening to my many (unsolicited!) suggestions inspired by YouTube plumbing tutorials.

I can’t recommend Lowe highly enough. They put people first, creating a guardianship experience rooted in empathy, kindness, and community. If you’re looking for a company that truly values and respects its guardians, Lowe is the best choice.

Great guardianship company

I’ve had such a good and easy time moving to the ATS building with Lowe. I contacted them, viewed and moved in under 2 weeks and it’s honestly been a breeze. It’s incredibly affordable for what I got and I’ve been responded to promptly and humanely with every aspect of it.
