They were actually there when I needed them and were very reassuring. Their prices are competitive and the service is actually good.

Thankfully I’ve not needed to make use of their services, so perhaps I can’t give you a comprehensive appreciation of the insurance itself. However, from a customer service viewpoint, George initially, and now Leah have always been helpful, recognised my specialty (other insurers lumped me in under a surgeon’s heading, when I’m a physician, which was at the best disconcerting), have been responsive to queries and always helpful. So great from a customer service viewpoint and also have come in at a very competitive price.

I moved from one of the "usual" protection firms to Themis because of the cost, I stayed because of the excellent service I received. Nothing but an excellent experience for a service I need.

It's so unusual to be able to call someone who knows you, immediately 'gets it' and is there to help, understanding the stressful situation you may be in. Themis is a breath of fresh air, and a totally different experience to my previous indemnity provider (MPS) that exercised their discretion and withdrew cover the first time I ever needed them in 25 years. It's nice to have an insurer!

THEMIS Clinical Defence is a leading provider of indemnity assurance for consultants. It moves away from the discretionary cover of older defence organisations, where the provider can decline to cover consultants, and instead provides professional insurance cover. As a longstanding customer I recommend them regularly to other colleagues.

I have been using Themis for several years for my malpractice insurance and highly recommend them. Fortunately I have not needed to make a claim, but have found them very accessible and straightforward to deal with when needing to make policy adjustments and to answer questions.

The premiums remain competitive and renewal is straight forward. The rationale behind their detailed risk profiling makes good sense and leaves me confident that my premiums are not being used to subsidise less careful surgeons. I foresee no reason to change going forward.
