I had to get a muzzle for my Staffie after he became reactive to another dog and started with a shop bought muzzle. Not good for my dog as he couldn't pant properly and he would shake when it went on. It was suggested I get a basket muzzle to allow panting. I went on the Muzzle Shop site and they have great explanations for measuring, a wealth of choice and if you are contacting them for advice as I did, replies are prompt and helpful. The muzzle fits well (I had ordered the nose band addition) and whilst my dog would rather not wear a muzzle, this is nearest he will get to that again. He can pant, he doesn't stop in the middle of his walk to try to take it off and he is sniffing his surroundings again. It's very quickly becoming his new normal and he's adapting really well. I bought a muzzle for my greyhound/saluki cross from Amazon. From the description, it seemed to be suitable but when it arrived, it did not appear deep enough to allow my dog to pant properly after a run.
I Googled muzzles and found the Muzzle Shop. The site gave detailed information on how to measure your dog. I followed the instructions and was still unsure as to which muzzle best suited my dog. Now this is where a small business like the Muzzle Shop score massively over a “big box” company like Amazon - there is a form! Fill in the measurements, describe what your dog will be doing whilst wearing the muzzle, attach a photo if you choose and email it to them.
I received a reply within a few days giving several options of muzzles for my dog. A quick check on the website and a muzzle was ordered. It arrived in good time and my dog has been wearing it on her exercise outings for over a week now. It is a great fit all round, especially the depth which allows her to pant easily after a run, which makes me happy, and she can chew treats better (I’m working on her recall), which I am certain pleases her.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Muzzle Shop. I received first rate service.

Very helpful advice on style of muzzle. Good range of colours and the muzzle itself is very lightweight and my dog has taken to it with no problem giving me extra confidence when we’re out walking.

Great muzzles, lightweight and doesn't bothered my dog and he's never had muzzle on before. Also sizing was a spot on for his long face. Beautiful vibrant colours, exactly matching with his gears.

I ordered a long line lead. Delivery was really speedy and the lead is excellent. Really good value for money too, and lots of updates about my order, which was nice.

Quick delivery, good quality. Dog seems happy while wearing it and gives that small piece of mind when meeting other dogs and especially cats that I haven’t seen. Dog is an ex-racer greyhound and any small furry is fair game in his eyes - this gives the small furry a chance to get away

Really great customer service and help with sizing. We finally found a muzzle that fits our Labrador, and it's pink! Great fit and the material is much more flexible and comfortable than alot of other muzzles out there!

Fiona takes enormous care in providing advice. It is clear her priority is the dog’s comfort and safety of all. I am so grateful for her help and I’m sure my dog is too - if only she (my dog - not Fiona!) knew.
