…Funds taken, refund downgraded, and given only ONE MONTH to spend it

I am shocked at how badly The North Face treats its customers when something goes wrong.

I paid cash in-store and was refunded with a gift card valid for 12 months and usable both online and in-store, which I agreed to. After that, the company removed the funds completely without providing the product.

It then took over a month for The North Face to admit the issue was entirely their fault.

Instead of restoring the original gift card, they issued a downgraded replacement that I never agreed to:
• Online-only code
• Only ONE MONTH to use it
• Restrictions on what I can buy (no discounted/sale items)
• Worse terms than the original refund they themselves provided

So my money was taken, no product was supplied, my refund was removed, and then I was given a heavily restricted code with a one-month deadline, as if I was being punished for their mistake.

This is not customer service — it feels like deliberate obstruction designed to make sure customers lose their money. The support process was slow, dismissive, and completely unfair.

For a brand of this size, this behaviour is unacceptable. If anything goes wrong with your purchase, expect delays, downgraded refunds, and arbitrary restrictions.

I strongly recommend avoiding The North Face. There are plenty of brands that respect their customers — this is not one of them.

No communications and no consideration for the customer shown in any way

ordered 3 items from northface, no confirmation emails to confirm my order, without telling me they send my items in 2 packages with 2 different companies, so when I opened the 1st one without knowing about the 2nd, I thought they had forgotten to include all my items, no communications that the items were on there way, UPS couldnt even text me or be bothered to deliver to my house, they left them in the local shop without even telling me, AVOID this company to AVOID stress and hassle and the risk of losing your items, its the first and last order from me

I treated myself to one of your jackets…

I treated myself to one of your jackets in autumn. I needed to wash my jacket so I read the label and care instructions so I didn’t make a mistake. Unfortunately the jacket came out all thinned and the feathers inside clumped together. I had warranty but they are trying to call me a lier and say I did it incorrectly which is not true as why would I waste money and not do it correctly? I am a lier I’m guessing. I can’t use the jacket anymore. They aren’t helping me at all and don’t care.

Haven't refunded returned item after 24 days

Returned item - confirmed as return received by them on Dec 14. I have yet to receive my refund, way past the time frame published on their site. Agents via chat and email apologized for the delay and said they had submitted a request for it to be processed. I made multiple attempts to communicate via PayPal, to no avail. Finally escalated the case through PayPal, with a resolution in my favor.

Scam

I ordered a jacket months ago and it was never sent to me. They still haven’t refunded me. I’ve emailed about 40 times and they’re being so weird about it and dodging the refund. I’ve had to take legal action and get my bank involved in hopes to recover hundreds of pounds stolen by them. I’ve been scammed by them.

Quality is a joke!

We bought two coats in September 2025 for the new school year. The first was a North Face Shayaz Padded Jacket, £150 and a very similar Nike coat £50 both from JD sports.

The Quality of the Nike coat, spot on. No issues and been washed a few times as kids get them messy. The North Face coat, is absolutely shocking! £150 for a coat and all the padding moved to one side so there isn't ant left at the back! what a joke, Temu probably make them better. You're literally paying for the name and it infuriates me that the quality of such an expensive coat is so bad.. utter S***.

North Face = Poorly made junk.

Save money, buy other brands that are made to a higher standard.

Awful

Awful. Bought an expensive jacket , first time washed it followed instructions perfectly and it came out flat and not puffy at all. Appalling quality. Worse still I placed an order for hoodie for Christmas gift, didn’t arrive, yodel lost it and waited nearly two weeks and still no item or refund. Too late for Christmas and I still haven’t got my money back. For a brand like this I am utterly shocked at poor service and quality

If you like receiving soaking wet clothes, get ordering!!!!

Bought a number of clothing items, which arrived unsealed or in any typre of packaging, simply thrown into a box. This might not have been so much of an issue if the box was then placed in another box.

Delivery box was found 36 hours after it was dumped ouitside my back door in the rain, soaking and dropping apart. I had to physically ring the water out of the clothing!!! Contacted customer services, send videos and photos, then offered a pittyful 15% discount. Some of the items were birthday gifts, so I'll just take the labels off and wash them first shall I? If youre going to offer compensation at least make it worthwhile to make up for the significant inconvenience.

The other option was to rebox it all at my own cost, send photos of what I'm returning and send it all back for a refund. It was even suggested I go to a physical store and ask for a box!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Case 'handled' by Giuliano. Nothing from management despite my requests for an escalation and subsequent contact, so called today and re requested a call!

Posting this review in the hope that perhaps it may prompt contact, however, looking at the reviews (which I did not expect to be so horrendous), this is probably unlikely.

I am open to taking this review down if an appropriate resolution is offered. Just wish I could upload the pictures and videos here to show just how bad they were!!!!!

Terrible customer service - disappointment

Honestly - I couldn’t write a worst review for a company. I’m so disappointment and will definitely not buy a single expensive item again! I made an order of 300£ during discounts and the couriering company misdelivered to wrong place… I found it by mistake after a week and it was stolen. I sent million pictures and queries for investigation. They claimed that the investigation was all clear and did not give me any refund or even a coupon. Worst worst worst experience ever!

Joke of a company, avoid

Dropped my parcel at the door with no one in, had to knock all doors in the street to find out someone took it in walking past, customer service washed their hand with it making you feel like an idiot for just wanting to receive something you paid for, appalling company to deal with.

Delivery is unacceptably slow

Delivery is unacceptably slow. Unless a customer lives in the Outer Hebrides, I believe that any company should be able to pick, dispatch and get the order to their customer within five working days. The North Face however say 5-7 working days, and they can’t even achieve that. They have absolutely zero communication after you place the order. What’s worse if you use the order tracking link found on your order confirmation email it forces you to create a loyalty program account and to divulge a lot more personal information than is appropriate just to find out where you order is (I don’t know how they get this past GDPR). Only to find out after you have given your grandmother shoe size and your first goldfish’s name that after all that, it doesn’t actually have your order on the order history page. You realise that you were just conned into signing up and giving all your personal information on the premise that you could track your order, which North Face knew wasn’t true. So then you Google and find a hidden tracking page, where you appropriately just need to enter your order number and email address, but guess what? You then discover that there’s no status update beyond “processing” so you try and contact them. You eventually get the contact us page to work, then low and behold there’s a message that says don’t contact us if your order is running late because everyone order is as we decided to upgrade on logistics during the busiest period of the year. So I guess you just need to sit back and 1. hopes that it eventually arrives. 2 hope that it arrives before the end of the year (perhaps the end of winter is more realistic). 3. Pray that you don’t need to return it.

This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with.
They sent my delivery to the wrong door number, and then edited the door number on the invoice to cover up their mistake, all so they can refuse a refund. Now they’re refusing to send a replacement or give me my money back.
Absolutely unacceptable. AVOID this company at all costs! Judging from the bad reviews this is a normal way if how they treat customers

North face accepted returned goods, but then kept my money!

I cannot believe how badly North Face handled my return. I posted my coat on the 6th of November, they received it on the 8th, I have full proof of postage and tracking, and I still haven't been refunded. Their investigation team refused the refund, claiming the coat was delivered fine, which makes no sense since they received it themselves.

Customer service has been absolutely awful, slow, unhelpful, and nonexistent. I asked to speak with a manger and nobody ever got back to me. I've been ignored and left chasing them with zero progress.

I had no choice but to go through my bank just to try to get my money back, and now I am waiting 45 days plus another 30 while they "investigate" something North Face should have handled immediately.

This experience had been infuriating. Ordering from North face has been one of the most stressful ridiculous retail experiences I've ever had. I will never buy from them again. If you're returning goods online, be warned if anything goes wrong, you'll be the one fighting for your own refund with no help from them.

Warranty is a Lie

First time I was north face chillkat boots for a 5 days in bad weather and they split across the front. Contacted them and despite the website saying you don’t need a receipt to make a warranty claim it turns out you do. Appalling considering the are expensive boots and a fault not something I did or wear and tear. Sent them photos but they wouldn’t do anything.

Love my coat but it smells musty

Love my coat! Because I am a small lady, I can order a teens coat. However, when I received it, it smells like IKEA cushions, you know that musty smell that you can't get rid of. So it did make me think if it was a return and didn't get steamed properly.

Absolutely Appalling Experience – Northern Face Failed Miserably!

I am furious with my recent “delivery” experience with Northern Face. I placed an order, paid for home delivery, and waited in all day. Instead of receiving my parcel, I got a pathetic message from their chosen courier, DPD, claiming I “wasn’t at home.” That is an outright lie—I was at home the ENTIRE DAY. No one knocked, no one rang the bell. DPD made no genuine attempt to deliver. When I called DPD directly, their excuse changed to the driver being “lost” or “disoriented.” So which is it—am I not home, or is your courier just utterly incompetent? Either way, someone is lying.

Now, instead of Northern Face fixing the mess, I’m told to pick up my parcel myself from an Argos TWO MILES from my house. This is an absolute disgrace. I paid for HOME DELIVERY. I didn’t order click-and-collect. Northern Face—this is YOUR responsibility, not DPD’s. You chose the courier. Passing off the blame is just cowardly and shows how little you care about your customers once you’ve taken their money.

Northern Face, step up and fix this. Either get DPD to deliver what I paid for, or send a replacement via a courier who can actually find an address and won’t LIE to cover up their failures. Don’t send me the usual “we can’t control the courier” rubbish. Own your mistakes and sort out your customer service if you ever want loyal customers again.

Shocking, shameful, and utterly unacceptable! Avoid Northern Face if you value honesty and basic service.

Do not buy a gift card - big scam!!

I have a digital gift card and was about to purchase two coats. The voucher code/PIN is showing up as invalid. This was gifted to me two years ago but the voucher is valid until August 2026. I got in touch with the ‘customer care’ team… just wow! The most useless interaction I have ever had with an online retailer. They are so incredibly unhelpful, and the tone of this will leave a sour taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. I have proof of purchase, date of the purchase, the code and password, the email address for the purchase. I don’t have the order number - it’s a gift! Without this, they will do absolutely nothing for me. They don’t have an email address for complaints and were not forthcoming on helping me make one.

So, in short, that’s £100 wasted. I have never shopped at the North Face before and I was about to spend quite a bit of money, even with the voucher. I won’t be buying from them now or in the future. I’ll strongly advise everyone else not to either. Absolutely shameful.
