Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 47 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people found the facilities overcrowded, making it difficult to enjoy the pools, saunas, and other amenities, often feeling more like a chaotic public swimming pool than a relaxing spa. Customers frequently reported issues with staff, describing them as rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional, particularly concerning inconsistent rule enforcement and lack of assistance. The pricing was also a common point of dissatisfaction, with many feeling that the high costs for entry and additional services did not match the quality of the experience, especially given the overcrowding and lack of free amenities like drinking water. However, some customers also noted that the facilities themselves were modern and well-maintained, with a good variety of pools and saunas, and some even had enjoyable massages and found certain areas to be quiet during off-peak times.

What a fantastic experience all round

What a fantastic experience all round!
I visited on Tuesday with a group of 5 other family members and having read some of the reviews wasn’t sure what to expect, especially as we are a black family. We booked in advance and arrived at opening (10am) on Tuesday. There was no queue, we hired our robes and off we went. It’s advisable to book your treatments/massage immediately as they do get booked quickly and straight after that secure a lounger - Ingrid did my massage which was 10/10 - highly recommend. 2 other family members also had amazing massages. Staff were helpful but Adrian really exceeded all levels of customer service, he was absolutely brilliant and really friendly. - nothing was too much. The place was busy but at no point overcrowded and we were able to experience everything we wanted to do and more. How they illuminate everywhere at night is a beautiful sight.
A big well done to the whole team who keep Therme running as smoothly as possible considering the volumes of people they must see daily. I know there are some negative reviews but really would suggest giving it a go for yourself - perhaps not during peak season or weekends - not everyone’s experience is the same!

Some good, some bad

Can be a cool experience if it isn't overcrowded. The (Romanian) staff can be very rude and the complaint department will ignore it.

Might be a beautiful place, but do not go

Might be a beautiful place, but be aware - is full always. Is full 200% over the capacity. They should be doing something about it. They do know what maximum capacity they have and they should limit selling passes only for that number of people. And yes, we went in a Tuesday. I do not want to know what happens during the weekend. So, you better cross this from your list, not worth it at all.

Cattle market with palm trees

Cattle market with palm trees. Not relaxing at all as it’s overcrowded. Queued for an hour and 15 to book treatments to find they had almost sold out. No lifts, one of our party has mobility issues due to a serious illness, no care or concern for her. Rude rude staff! I think that the company are more interested in packing as many people in as possible than creating a relaxing spa. Would not return.

I had an absolutely amazing experience…

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Therme Bucharest — truly a 5-star visit from start to finish.

The facilities are incredible, spotless, and so well organised, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. What really stood out to me, though, was the exceptional customer service.

I unfortunately lost my wrist band during my visit, which is used for lockers and purchases, another visitor actually used it racking up some costs on my card. However, the team handled the situation brilliantly. The processes and security measures they have in place meant everything was quickly investigated, the key was located, and I was fully refunded without any hassle.

A special thank you to Alina, Ionuț, and Rohima who went above and beyond to help resolve everything — they were professional, calm, and genuinely caring throughout.

Even with the hiccup, it didn’t take away from the experience at all. If anything, it showed how well the spa is managed and how much they care about their guests.

Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brilliant time at Therme Bucharest

We visited Therme 19/03/2026 and we had a brilliant time.
There is plenty to do there to keep you entertained for the whole day. We got the all areas access ticket. The palm thermal pool is lovely and the swim up bar is really handy. We enjoyed the Sauna’s, and the watersides were really fun. We had no issues with crowding, it was fairly quiet but it is out of season. If you are staying in Bucharest it is about 40 minutes in a taxi, but taxi’s are cheap, it cost us about £15 via uber.

NOT RELAXING- Packed with people

I've been at Therme on the 7th of february 2026, and I had only unpleasant surprises. Keep in mind this is not the first time this happens to me at Therme.
I've come all the way from another country to Romania only to be able to RELAX at therme, so I have checked their site everyday for a week to make sure I dont miss anything. I had written down the hours for the saunas, and made a whole schedule for myself, only to find out that I wouldn't get to enjoy any of those things when I got there.

Firstly,
When I got there, it was full. The average waiting time to get in was 90 minutes, nd the waiting line was all the way outside the buliding, on the street. They DID NOT warn us whatsoever, anywhere on the site, on their social pages etc, about the current situation. I just got there and had to wait 2 hours to get in, I was waiting outside in the cold (it was 0 degrees Celsius).
Earlier that day I had a problem with my swimming suit, so I had to change it, and since it was Saturdat afternoon and all the accesible shops were closed, I figured I would buy one at Therme. I knew it was going to be expensive, but I didn't expect it to be THAT expensive. Therme is outside of Bucharest, in an industrial zone, in the middle of nowhere, so there are absolutely no shops to buy a swimming suit. Being left without option, I had to buy a swimming suit from Therme, and since they have no respect for their clients, they priced it as high as they could, around 60 euros to be exact. What does that say about Therme? They advertise their establishement as a relaxing spa, meant to take care of its clients and offer them a peaceful experience. However, they only see us as money bags, knowing there's no other place to go and buy a swimsuit (returning to the city would mean losing another 2 hours on the road, since it's around an hour away from the center of the capital), they overprice their products, but are not able to justify those prices. Absolutely no respect for their clients.
They also went way over capacity, when I finally got inside, there was no place to swim, we were like sardines in the pool. And obviously no more places for the massages or the saunas....horrible experience. They should have at least posted about the situation online, but of course they didn't, since they only think about money and not our comfort or well-being or TIME.

1 star because of the towels that…

1 star because of the towels that others lay down on the bed and nobody there , they should do a policy about this , when I found a bed , I sit there for hours , and nobody came , they came at the end to take back the towels ! And be careful with the food , I ve been 11 h to Therme and I had lunch , dinner and desert, after Therme I stopped directly to hospital! Rest of experience is amazing ! But not for a full day , you don’t have where to sit and the food seems to be poisoned! 🤮

Carmen is an asset to Therme

Queued for a massage. Waited ages missing several scheduled saunas, only to be told there were no spaces left. Many of the staff were rude, however, one member of staff stood out among the rest for being pleasant and always smiling throughout the whole day. Her name is Carmen, and she is an asset to Therme. Thank you Carmen for always smiling and working hard to give everyone a lovely experience. I hope you are rewarded for your excellent attitude.

Very disappointing experience/unprofessional

I bought an expensive pair of swimming shorts for my son, and they were damaged after only about two hours of normal use. When we returned to the store to ask for understanding and some form of compensation, Karina and a male staff member were extremely unprofessional and dismissive. They simply said it was not their problem and refused to help.
Poor quality products and even worse customer service. I would not recommend this store .

Bad experience, wouldn’t go again

The place is extremely overcrowded, to the point that you constantly bump into other people while moving around, seriously affecting comfort and relaxation. They should limit the number of visitors allowed inside at the same time.

Many of the facilities included in the ticket price are simply unavailable because they are constantly occupied — such as the infrared beds, massage beds, and thermal pools, which are so crowded that you are constantly bumping into other people. Essentially, most of what you pay a high price for cannot actually be used.

Finding a sunbed is almost impossible, as people reserve them for hours by leaving towels on them. If you don’t get a sunbed, towels are supposed to be placed on hangers, but there are far too few. As a result, towels are left on plants or improvised spots, where they easily fall. We even found our towels on the floor.

Flip-flops and drinks are left everywhere, adding to the general feeling of chaos. The environment is noisy and crowded, making it very hard to relax. Instead of a spa or wellness experience, it feels more like a very busy public swimming pool — just much more expensive.

Overall, the experience felt more like a money-making attraction than a place designed for relaxation. While I understand and accept the zero tolerance policy, the way it is enforced by the staff felt unreasonable and overly rigid, reinforcing the impression that strict rules and profit matter more than guest comfort.

Wouldn’t go back!

Such a lovely idea and the spa itself is beautiful. It is just ruined by the amount of people they let in! We pre-booked tickets and when we arrived we had to queue for 90 minutes because the spa was at capacity- I don’t understand how it can be at capacity when they sell tickets, surely there should be a max amount of tickets sold per day or time slots- but apparently not.

There were no loungers, couldn’t use the thermal light beds because there’s way too many people in the spa and they’d all been claimed. Couldn’t use the hot tubs again due to the amount of people.

It’s terribly organised, there are no systems for anything and no clear signs anywhere.

Finally staff are unbelievably rude, the lifeguards especially, one of them spat at us, swore and made out we were stupid because we are English. After this we left!

Food was okay and I think it’s reasonably priced, along with drinks and robe hire. It’s just so disappointing, we ended up leaving after 2 hours and coming back to our accommodation as there is nothing relaxing about that place! Would be lovely if it wasn’t over sold, just a shame!

Not Relaxing. Not Premium. Just Overcrowded.

What happens when you build a gorgeous spa with amazing amenities, then pack in four times its capacity? The resulting image captures our experience at the Therme Spa in Bucharest. The online promo shows a serene, premium escape. The real experience is anything but: it is massive and stressful, as you find yourself in a "survival-of-the-fittest" mode, competing for everything (from sunbeds to showers or even chairs). The contrast hits you the moment you step in, as you watch a massive crowd trying to maneuver their way to the entrance without any semblance of order.

Day 2 was marginally better, but only because we'd learned the rules: arrive before opening, sprint to claim your sunbed (or else you'll spend the day perched on decorative planters), and rush to book a massage slot (which sold out for the whole day less than two hours after opening time). If you decide to go, avoid weekends or holidays; you might actually get to experience the relaxing spa they advertise. Overall, we had some fun moments, but I would not go back, nor recommend it.

Unique experience Incredible Spa, But Crowds and Inconsistent Rules Matter

Therme Spa Bucharest – Honest Review (2 Visits)

Unsponsored review after visiting twice (summer & winter; half-day and full-day).

Pros:
Great value for the entry price, very unique experience, easy to spend a full day here without getting bored. Timed experiences are included and unique (especially sauna Aufguss). Food is good and clearly designed for international tastes. Cashless wristband system is very convenient.

Cons:
Very crowded (up to ~10,000 people/day), which means long lines—half-day passes are not enough. Food and drinks are expensive, no outside food or water allowed, and no free drinking water provided. Towels and sandals must be brought or rented. Lounge chairs are often “reserved” with towels all day. Phones not allowed in pools. Location is ~1 hour from central Bucharest, with limited transport options late at night.

Important experience to note:
During our second visit, we had full-day Elysium (highest-tier) access. Our group was 3 young women, majority non-white, English-only speakers, and among the only non-Europeans in line. We queued for a free, included head & shoulders massage (advertised as 10 minutes).

Early in the wait, multiple groups (including us) briefly stepped out for toilets/drinks and returned. Staff later warned the group in front of us (four white European guests) that leaving the line was not allowed but did not remove them. From that point on, we and the rest of the line stayed continuously in place.

After ~90 minutes, when we were second from the front, staff removed only our group for having left earlier. Management reviewed cameras, confirmed we had stepped away briefly, but declined to review or address the same behavior by others. During this, the group in front verbally confronted us (including threats to call police and handcuff gestures), which staff did not intervene in. We were told our only option was to rejoin at the back after ~2 hours of waiting, so we left.

A separate couple later told us they witnessed the same behavior and left the line as well.

Key Takeaways from the Incident
* Rules around leaving the line were not clearly communicated (only one small sign at the front of the line, tiny English font)
* Enforcement appeared inconsistent across groups
* For a premium-tier experience, requiring guests to stand for ~2 hours in high heat without access to water, restrooms, or seating is unreasonable
* Guest harassment occurred without staff intervention

Bottom line:
Therme can be an amazing experience, but crowd management, unclear rules, and inconsistent enforcement—especially for a premium-tier ticket—were disappointing. If returning, I’d avoid long queues for “extras” entirely and stick to less crowded areas.

Do not go in the evenings

We went to Elisyum for the Aufgus, and you could not get a spot in the sauna because it was overcrowded. The staff, instead of fixing the problem, squeezed a few more people in.

When we wanted to go, there was no shower gel in most of the showers, and someone stole my flip-flops.
Therme entered an era of valuing profits over experience, and it sucked.

First visit, I'll be back

Visited on a Thursday with no complaints. I booked my ticket online, when I arrived they had signposted 2 queues with security directing you, plus the computer monitors were clear with where you needed to be.
Once booked in you receive your bracelet which has your locker number on it, you also use this for all your purchases while there.
Behind the check in desk, is where you can hire bathrobes, and towels, and purchase flip flops. You'll need a towel to sit on in the sauna and the beds.
They have monitors around that let's you know what's going on in each area at different times, you can also get this info on the app under activity schedule. I went to several different sauna/steam room sessions, I'd advise to arrive 5 mins before the start time to get your seat, they do close the area off once its the start time or full capacity has been met. Yes people will be opening the doors alot, its a busy place, you have to be patient they do get hot again.
Lots of different food options, you order on the monitors and then collect your food once your number is called, there is also a sit down restaurant where robes are mandatory. There is no water fountains around, you'll have to purchase it everywhere. I enjoyed all the areas, and made the most of my time there, I'd definitely return.

Hungry owner hoping my 10 euros is his salvation

Even though it was a wednesday, not holiday, we couldn t find a spot where to lay our stuff. We paid the moat expensive all day ticket and drank non alcoholic cocktails and ate there, basically the type of customers I business would like. Still, we were trated horribly by the staff and they cheated us out of our money. We had barely arrived and entered the pool at palm area and a girl shouted at me that I am wearing some type of bra???? I told her it s swimsuit from h&m...she didn t want to believe me until she inspected it and saw what it waa made of. Meanwhile a lot of people were filiming everywhere and bog built men were wearing and even entering with normal underwear and shorts and t shirt, no stress. Then they lied to us that some body scan was free and only some advance scanning would cost 99 lei. We told her no, we want only the free part as we don t know how it will be, maybe if we like it we will go to more detail and pay. She said sure and then asked me to pay for scannig my body. I told her: why did you tell us this was free then? She said oh haha I thought you were joking??? I will tell my boss to cancel the cost. Surprise surprise, when trying to leave I get a bigger bill with this cost included. The girl of course lied and did not tell anyone about her mistake and probablyhoped I would just pay. In the end the situation was not solved, me and my friend tried talking to every persona imaginable from staff to manager, but they all ganged up on us suggesting we were lieing😂 I told them, just check the cameras and call the police! They refused and said they need to go home and can t close the business id I don t pay...that I should just complain on the company portal if I really feel I was wronged. I will do more thab that of course. The audacity of these people and the lack of common sense is incrwdible. Their staff is young untrained people that are even lacking common decency. I would NOT pay money to come especially from a different country here. Oh and they bullied us and madw us feel poor just because we wouldn t pay somwthing they lied about. Brothers and sisters, have you ever heard about just having a sense of justice and standing up for yourself? Someone cheap would not spend over 100 euros a day at a lame facility as this one has proven, just to cheat you ot of 10 euros. Grow up

Crowded and upleasant

Crowded and upleasant. Now even on weekdays they have contracts with tourism agencies that bring coaches full of people in order to scam them out of their money for empty promises, lowering the quality of the experience for everyone. It has never been a Thermal SPA and the name itself is a marketing gimmick since the complex is in a village in Ilfov county and definitely NOT in Bucharest as they claim in the advertisements. With public transport it can take up to 90 minutes to get there unless you live in the north of Bucharest which is the expensive part of town. The parking lot is full of scam taxis, and the personel is of very bad quality, considering the big commute and the salaries they get no one really wants to work there. Most of the food is scammy as well, little meat and full of cheap low quality carbs, salads mostly lettuce and little else on top. This company pays Google to delete the bad reviews and keep the rating high.
