Very helpful …

Spoke with them about my skylight and they were so helpful. They sent a link for the item I needed and was posted out that day for next day delivery.

Beware of the warranty conditions

Thinking we were saving £300 we bought a Thermo Technica replacement for our Truma motorhome boiler. Within a few months it leaked and was eventually replaced. Unfortunately the replacement also leaked after less than 6 months. This time the company did not want to know, blaming us for allowing it to freeze. They also pointed to their warranty conditions that it must be fitted by a gas safe engineer. It is only a legal requirement to have a gas safe engineer if the motorhome or caravan is going to be used for hire or reward.
Motorhome engineers are part of the Approved Workshop Scheme, which my engineer was.
I resorted to claiming from my credit card company under S75 of the consumer credit act. An independent gas safe engineer proved that it was faulty metal that caused the leak.
We now have a Truma boiler.

In trying to disparage us, the disgruntled reviewer ends up providing information that is extremely unhelpful for anyone considering buying a combi. The focus in the title is - ‘beware of the warranty’ – with the implication being that we are being unreasonable in ours and it will be different elsewhere. The reviewer appears to state that it is good enough for an Approved Workshop Scheme engineer to fit a combi rather than a gas safe engineer and the warranty should/will be valid from most companies. This is not the case and misleading. While it is not a legal requirement, it is an industry standard followed by pretty much all our competitors - and for the very good reason that gas is extremely dangerous if it is not installed properly. It is even the case for some campsites to insist on RVs/campervans to have a certificate to confirm that it was installed by a gas safe engineer. At ThermoTechnica, we are all avid motorhome users, and besides the safety issues with not using a gas safe engineer, we don’t want to see people out of pocket due to invaliding their warranties from false information. Considering the reviewer readily admits in his review that he previously owned a Truma and had bought another, it seems unlikely he didn’t know that!?
We hope to be able to move on from this now and would encourage anyone to look at the strength of our reviews or give us a call if you have any questions.
