VCS USED TO carry high-quality-products that mirrored their exuberant prices. While their prices are now much higher, the quality of items is much lower. Ordered a simple bedspread for about $300 in cream color. It arrived promptly but color was jet-black. I can get 'imported' (code for made-in-china) items of same quality for 1/3 the price on ebay.

Have always gotten great products and quick service with my on-lines orders. Well satisified.

I ordered 2 pair of cotton pajamas. On one pair the "cotton" was so scratchy it's irritating. Cheap cotton contains "nano plastics" and really shouldn't be sold as 100%cotton. I wrote a review on those particular pajamas to inform vermont country store to check their quality. Customer service reached out then closed my account. So I'm warning people to be suspicious of ordering. Some stores work out, however, this one was a huge disappointment

I have been ordering from Vermont Country Store for years. I have loved their merchandise. But lately I can't login. I have called them; the person I talked to couldn't tell why and couldn't fix the problem. Needless to say, I won't be ordering from them in the future.

You’re familiar with the expression “pull the wool over one’s eyes”… Well, attempting a transaction with Vermont Country Store feels like having a whole sheep thrown in one’s face.

You can read in the comments here about the sorts of nonsense VCS does in order to enrich themselves at the expense of their abused customers. Horrible defective products, long telephone wait times, non-responsive live chat, customer service representatives ill equipped to actually resolve problems, ridiculous charges (i.e. to return defective products), no accountability, the absence of truthful answers… Yes, they did it to me too.

That “Customer Bill of Rights” they post on their website along with that “aw shucks” photo of their generational owners — it’s complete nonsense, as fictional as your favorite dime-store novel.

Once they’ve taken your money, VCS does not care about you, or their reputation. So, if you like donating your money to a corporation disguised as a homey country store, by all means, bring your business to VCS. If you actually want customer service, accountability, truthfulness and top notch products, you really should look at a different vendor. These folks are absolutely not the “real deal” and in time, you will regret your association with them.

Bad folks who demonstrate daily that they do not care. Do yourself a favor, stay away from them.

I called to cancel the catalog that come to my new residence. Her first question was do I have the new address for the person who moved. I responded no. Her next question was "well did she die?" I replied that that was a very insensitive question. Her next statement was "well you have to appreciate my point of view, I don't know who you are..." I responded that I did not have to appreciate her point of view and asked again to cancel the catalog.She was more interested in business and in the process of being rude has lost this customer and my family and friends.

I recently ordered an item of clothing from the Vermont Country Store. The clothing in question is a cargo coat which I ordered from this company and purchased on or about 1 February 2024. The Vermont Country Store supposedly used the United Parcel Service to send me the cargo coat. It was supposed to have arrived within about a week or so, but it never arrived. I finally called the Vermont Country Store a week ago. The employees of this company could not account for the whereabouts of the cargo coat. I reordered the cargo coat last week, but it still has not arrived. At this rate, I have no idea when or if the cargo coat will ever arrive. This is the first time that I have ever purchased a product from this particular company. I have absolutely no idea whether or not I will ever receive the cargo coat in question via a UPS delivery from the Vermont Country Store. This company should bolster it's quality control protocols. Perhaps I should have bought a cargo coat from Amazon. I would rather not use a Chinese-owned company like Amazon to buy products. However, if the Vermont Country Store is going to be this inefficient, then I will never again purchase anything from this company which thus far has had a dubious quality control record in its dealings with me. When I finally received the cargo coat, the zipper malfunctioned badly. I had to try numerous times to zip up the coat. It is a high quality coat, but the zipper does malfunction frequently, and the Vermont Company should bolster its logistical systems and its protocols for mailing out its products via the mail system.

Gee your hair smells terrific shampoo and conditioner is not a legitimate product! I use to buy it all the time so I was so happy to see it available! When I Finally recieved it after many delays, due to an incorrect address, which I called and spoke with a woman to make sure was correct I recieved a bogus product that smelt like hand soap with a slight amonia smell! Gross! I called to get a refund and spent far too long on hold with Chris, only to be jerked around!

I ordered a rug and at check out was told the item would arrive in one week. A week later a representative called me to confirm my order, this conversation took over 20 minutes. Then a week later the rug finally shipped out. The rug has still not arrived.

I asked for return slip on Monday wait till Thursday no return slip. Wednesday morning I went to the USPS sent my item for exchange for a bigger size. The box got there Friday morning according to USPS tracking.I called Friday afternoon 4:00 pm this idiot told it would take a couple of weeks before they would be able to tell me if they got my package.They did sent return slip Friday at 3:26 PM after the fact.How can business be in business with these no nothing lamebrain morons!

I placed an order on December 1st and 19 days later nothing has arrived. Tried to no avail to get a live person to speak with me. Finally, after waiting on hold for over 30 minutes, got a representative who had no ability to help me and said "someone would call back within 24 hours." I then used the online chat, which disconnected me twice. Finally, someone on the other end typed "we shipped it, check with UPS" then they promptly disconnected the chat. Why is the onus on me? It's been over 20 days. Nothing is coming. I'm out over $100. Customer service is horrible. Not sure about the product as it was never received. I would never recommend this store. Scam.

I had the exact same issue as the last customer. I found out that I ordered the wrong size within hours of ordering. I ordered last night after hours and I sent a message through the company chat hours before they opened today. They also told me the order was packaged and they couldn't replace the correct sizes and couldn't even just cancel the order. She offered to send me a return label even though the order hasn't even shipped. I decided to pay a higher price for items from this seller because it's marketed like it's an American company with good service. I might has well just order cheap things from China if the customer service is going to be the same.

Gee my hair really smells terrific and I love this shampoo since way back when also enjoying the marzipan ordered, its soft and very good as well as pretty last item I got was wind song talc powder it also reminds me of the days back in the 1980's loved it all so ill be back thanks Vermont country store, great products great easy ordering and package was perfect in tact

I realized that I bought the wrong size ironing board cover as I have a wall ironing board. I cancelled within an hour by email and called right after they opened on Sunday. The customer service rep said that the people who handle cancelations would not answer the phone and sent a message. I called again this morning, Monday, and was told the same thing. I was told no action had been taken on the order. Then at 12:30 Monday, I got a call from Kristie, who said that it had already been packaged. I asked why no one answered the phone calls or messages from Sunday and this morning and why was told no action was taken on the order. I was told that they get to the calls and emails and messages when they can. Now, I have to send it back before getting a credit. There is no cancellation button. I will never order from them again.

I was a longtime customer of Vermont Country store. Every year I would by Christmas presents for family members, even though I always thought they were a bit overpriced. That changed a year ago when I called to return some slippers which came apart. Even though the Country Store advertises their guarantee of complete satisfaction with their products, it became clear that this was false advertising.Their customer service representative was as unpleasant as could be and refused to take the damaged slippers back. My wife and I no longer shop at Vermont Country store. I would not recommend them!

The Fuller brush carpet Sweeper that I bought from Vermont Country Store was easy to assemble and works perfectly.

I ordered a robe for my wife's birthday on January 14. I thought 12 days would be sufficient to process the order and mail it. Not! Still don't have the item and if the tracking information is correct, I won't get the item until January 31. This package traveled from VT to CT, NC, MA, NJ, OH, PA, NC, SC, NC. Anyone see a problem. I live in NC! I've had stuff come from China quicker than this. Called the store's customer service but got no real help. They should have sent me another via priority mail. Called USPS and I think that is why the package is back on track for delivery to me. I won't order again from this store. I should have read the other reviews before ordering. Lesson learned.

Done with VCS. They sell very cheap low quality items these days. Not the same store that it used to be. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!

I called CS about the ship date prior to ordering-and she assured me delivery prior to Christmas! I wouldn't have ordered otherwise so that's really bad customer service to lie to get a customer to purchase! I am thoroughly disgusted by being lied to-like the lie in the email that I had emailed them when I had in fact spoken with CS prior to ordering.
