The company's approved garages can't actually fix your car. I have a Mercedes GLA which had a gearbox failure. I was relived knowing I purchased a warranty that "covered the full cost of my car + courtesy car". I made a claim and then waited two weeks until the company's approved garage could look at my car, I was not allowed to hire a courtesy car in this time as the mechanics have to actually be working on your car for over 8 hours for you to be eligible. After my car was seen I was told I would need to wait a week to have the window wiper motor replaced as they didn't have the parts. I was still not eligible for a courtesy car. The second issue was with the gear box and the garage simply said they "DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX MERCEDES" gearboxes and that I would need to take it to the dealer. I took the car to Mercedes and phoned the warranty company to ask what the next steps would be and they informed me that they can't cover work done by Mercedes as they only cover £50ph worth of labour. I am now having to pay for the repairs (£3,650) to be carried out by myself. ZERO point in having a warranty and the system is essentially a modern day scam!!!

Another poor experience with TWG … car in the garage with sudden mechanical failure for over 2 months , independent assessor sent out to identify the fault and lists a variety of considerations around the cause of failure , all
Of which amount to sudden mechanical failure . Yet TWG have denied the claim stating the faults were prior to the policy inception despite the assessor report stating the opposite

Customer service was really good when I rang to make my claim and get updated. Really clear communication of timescales for repair/replacement and different possible outcomes.

Disappointed with the service received
, no garage really wanted to accept the job as it takes them too long to get paid with one even saying they will do it if customer pays and claims it back themselves, but unable to investigate as it’s not a who fixes my car garage. Helpline gave conflicting details when part of claim was not approved, garage want to charge £20 an hour extra than the warranty covers but you don’t know that until they have the car, do the diagnostic and the claim is made the complaint handling is not very customer focused and missing detail. Over all not impressed with what is already a stressful situation breaking down on a motorway.

RAC cover doesn’t give you peace of mind, more of a headache. Trying to find an approved garage in its self is an headache! When I found a garage I realised that was the easy part!! When it comes to getting the work approved second problem! Then they start using all the excuses not to do the work. Absolutely appalling would never take out another warranty, it is not fit for purpose!!

This was my first time using the warranty and I found it very easy to use. The staff that I spoke to was very helpful, and the claim went through with no problems.

Out of a total bill for around £2,500 the warranty covered only £1,400. So make your own mind up.

I have had to use my warranty 4 times now over the last 2 years due to various problems with my Q7. In all they have been helpful in most instances although it has become more difficult to get any payment returned the last 2 times I have used the policy. Overall I would still recommend them and customer service has been good.

Purchased a 3yr warranty with my Vauxhall mokka I recently had a problem with a noise coming from the heater so took to an approved RAC garage had to have diagnostic test which they only cover up to £50 so was told I needed a new motor for the heater which was over £500 so new motor installed but the noise is still there! Not happy at all some of the garages they use are absolute rubbish.

I purchased a 3 year warranty cover with RAC recovery when I purchased my vehicle on 2022.
In November 23 I had an issue with a flat tyre. RAC first of all offered me a tyre company to come out to me, but I would need to pay £192.00 - I only had my phone with me and no ay of paying for this, so declined. I asked to be recovered instead, at which point RAC said I wasn't covered.
I then had to get a tyre fitter out to me, and unfortunately it wasn't the tyre that was the issue, but the wheel itself. I had to pay a call out fee for the tyre fitter, then arrange for a private recovery vehicle to get me home (£250).
Having complained to the RAC, they said I wasn't covered as it was accidental damage - i may have hit a brick on the motorway while driving, which may have caused the issue.
The total recovery time was 6 hours in total.
My initial call to RAC was at 10pm - I had my two children with me who have special needs. Fortunately I was able to get a relative to come and fetch them, from me (45 minute drive away from home). But this is not acceptable, and I need to ensure I am covered for events such as this, and this policy just doesn't give that.
I would really like to cancel the policy ad get a refund. There is still over a year to run.
Oh and it's taken RAC 9 weeks to respond to my complaint!!!

I bought my car from Fords of Winsford and took out three year RAC warranty. The park brake on my car was stuck on the rear wheels were locked the car parked on my drive. The RAC mechanic attended couldnt fix it and really just wanted to go home.I arranged for the car to go to an RAC approved garage who couldn't take the car for ten days because they were busy so it was on my driveway. After loads of phone calls a recovery turned up the day before the car was due in the garage. The bloke was there for10 minutes before he told me he couldn't take the car and to contact the RAC. To cut a very long story short I contacted a recovery company myself who turned up in the same recovery vehicle as the RAC vehicle and managed to take the car away. I had to pay for this. The car was at the RAC garage for three weeks and when I collected it they told the mate who took me to collect it that they would refuse to take any similar cars as they were too complicated for them. They had to get someone to reset the computer. I had to pay just short of £550 for the repair and £165 for the recovery. I did a complaint email to the RAC but surprise I haven't heard anything back. If I could have given the RAC no stars I would have done. Buyer beware if taking out a warranty read the small print

Having purchased my RAC Warranty with my Evoque it was something that I never wanted to call upon but with the need for an AdBlue tank Red Lion Garages implemented the claim and everything was resulted in a couple of days. Can’t ask for a better policy or a better garage 👌

Absolutely awful.
Firstly they ask you to use their approved garage which is fine unless the garage that's approved is a con man. Over two months later I still have no car as they refuse to pay for some of the claim which I wasn't informed about at any stage of the repair. Infact I was told on a call from these guys it was all covered. Yet here I am with a huge repair bill for something I didn't agree to! I've made a complaint but still yet to hear anything constructive.
