Absolutely First Class
I'm only part way through my DAW training course but I'm really enjoying it. It certainly is great value for money. The presenters are knowledgeable and present the subject in an uncomplicated way which makes it easy to understand. What also helps is that I can choose my own pace at which to learn meaning that I don't have to worry when other commitments increase. It also helps that I can revisit the modules at any time and that there is no time limit on the course. An added bonus is the chance to access other courses or free tutorials on subjects related to music, composing and recording. I would recommend ThinkSpace Education to anyone who wishes too learn more about musical composition and recording whatever they are doing it for.
My experience with ThinkSpace.
Before buying courses on orchestration, I was self-educating for a long time. I was not satisfied with the result because I was going around in the same circle. I accidentally found several videos by Guy and in one of them he talked about the importance of investing in education and not in plugins and libraries. I decided to try free courses, I liked it and I bought Sampled Orchestration. Then more courses on mixing.
And this really gave a powerful impetus to development and understanding of how the process works. I had learned a lot before the courses, but now everything has become structured and logical.
I like Guy's approach to teaching. He teaches as if playing with the student. My big disadvantage is poor knowledge of English. But I have a subtitle translator, which simplifies the learning process.
I will be honest and say that I bought other courses on orchestration. Of course, I also watch free videos on the Internet, by the way, Guy and the team make a lot of such content. For which I am very grateful to him. I just think it's a good way to see things from different perspectives and it doesn't make the ThinkSpace courses any less important to me.
Also a request to the ThinkSpace team, if possible. There was a Taster Week Assignment Feedback and Wrap-Up event at Postgraduate Taster Week on April 17th. It was the only event that wasn't posted in the course as a recording. Could you post it for students? They analyzed two of my compositions, Guy gave feedback, but I not understood quite a bit. And I can watch the recording with a translator. It would be very useful and important for me. Students' compositions were analyzed at other events as well. It's very valuable for us. Thanks to all the members of the ThinkSpace team! In my case, especially Guy Michelmore, Arhynn Descy, Ella Walker and Chris Rockall for the analysis.
I watch your lessons and I start writing better almost every day!
And if you find any mistakes, forgive my English)
See you at the Grammys)
Yours, Igor.

The Courses from Thinkspace Education are the best. I have 9 courses some free and some I have bought, I now have a library of music lessons I can keep going back to. Guy and the team are fantastic and I just love Guys enthusiasm he makes learning so much fun.

I recommend ThinkSpace courses
I have now signed up to several ThinkSpace courses and will probably be working through them for the rest of the year. What I like about this approach to learning is that I can start and stop at any time, and go back and repeat the more difficult parts. I am thoroughly enjoying this musical adventure.
Great style, huge knowledge and inspiration
I have several ThinkSpace courses and I not just enjoy them, but find them really really great and useful. Moreover when I completed the first ones a year ago they inspired me (and gave me also some confidence) to release my music ideas and compositions on Spotify (and all major services). I really love the style combined with the deep knowledge they teach.
The course gave me insights I would not…
The course gave me insights I would not have discovered on my own. It was both educational and entertaining. I will revisit the course over and over as my go to reference. Will be signing up for another course soon.
Great courses
Great courses, well structured and delivered with passion and empathy. Completed the Music Theory and Sampled Orchestration courses. Would 100% recommend Thinkspace to everybody interested in composition.
I needed a crash course in Cubase…
I needed a crash course in Cubase before a week-long music production session. This was a great course and broke down some barriers for me that has demotivated my recording efforts. I love this course and will go back over it several times to get even more from it. One complaint is that they substituted some Cubase 14 updates for the Cubase 13 ones. I have not upgraded and requested they give both options by reinstating the Cubase 13 modules as well, but I got no reply. It's still a great course though and I thoroughly recommend it! Having succinct course notes would also improve the impact of this course - no one remembers everything that was taught.
Enjoyable and informative
Really comprehensive courses presented well and full of interesting and applicable content
Awesome learning platform👍👍
You can only learn in ThinkSpace Education all of these unique music courses in Cinematic Music, Film Scoring, Orchestral Mixing, plus Learning your DAW especially Cubase!!
Thinkspace courses are very well laid…
Thinkspace courses are very well laid out, very easy to follow, and Guy always makes them fun! I feel if you are having fun learning that you tend to retain the information better, plus it doesn't feel like you are actually studying, but hanging out with a friend doing something you both enjoy.
Excellent course, great mix of theory & practical elements
I've completed several of the Thinkspace Education short courses and I recommend this one highly.
It is a very engaging course and I'm enjoying the mix of the practical and theory aspects.
Highly recommended!
Great practical course
I really enjoy all of the course offerings by Thinkspace. Guy Michelmore is a great teacher and his style and great sense of humour are a bonus. Lucy Hackett, Bradley Jordan and Tom Janes bring the practical part of this course to life and this is really helpful. There's supposed to be a part 2 to this course, eventually, and I intend to register to it as well.
Don't buy another piece of gear - invest in yourself and your future instead.
An excellent and well structured course with a design that makes it feel quite interactive.
The promotional material gives you an accurate idea of the course content and how well it's pitched for you.
There were a few odd chapters I could skip, but for a course with no formal entry requirements I think they have done really well designing and delivering it.
I will definitely be investing in more courses.
The bottom line - Don't buy another sample Library, invest in yourself.
Thinkspace Education a rewarding experience
I’ve been doing the short ThinkSpace courses now for about year now.
All of them have proved to be invaluable tools to further my skills in orchestration.
The organisation has been very helpful and approachable and with their lifetime access to the courses and webinars they are always there as a reference for future.
I can thoroughly recommend Thinkspace Education
Fantastic value!
Learning music theory or a new bit of software can be daunting, but Guy and the team excel at explaining things in simple terms. I've bought a number of their courses and they never disappoint!
Left to your own devices...
While the information is helpful and IS about the subject matter (Cinematic Composition), there is actually no direct feedback from the course tutors throughout. Instead, it relies rather on comments and opinions of fellow students with greater or lesser experience than yourself, just bunched together in a Discord chat group. It simply seemed to lack the personal touch.
I just love courses from thinkspace
I just love courses from thinkspace. All teachers explains everything very well and you also get practise tasks. If you have any problem, just send email and they respond quickly. I have bought several courses and it´s going to be more.
Happy Student!
I am very happy with the courses that I have started thus far. I have a limited amount of time to dedicate to my musical studies but the system is up and running and I am into my course in a flash.
I also really like the teaching style of the instructors that I have encountered.
