Well worth giving them a try
Nice, easy straightforward site. Quick response by telephone when I had to contact them. Some interesting benefits to policyholders as well. I cannot fault them.

Very good and bonus of having 10% off at trade point but the renewal offered was £40 more than i got by not renewing and starting a new policy

They let me down
I have been a loyal customer of Trade Direct Insurance for over 20 years. Both van insurance and public liability. I have never made a claim.
Earlier this year I renewed my van insurance and included brake down cover. 2 weeks after renewing my insurance, my vans slave cylinder went and I was stranded 3 miles from home. When I phoned BD Elite (Trade Direct's breakdown supplier), they told me I wasn't covered because my van was too old, and my cover expired at the same time as my previous insurance, 3 weeks earlier. I spoke to Trade Direct and they just brushed me off.
It cost me £300 to get my van recovered, and putting it mildly I'm not happy.
I will not be renewing any insurance with Trade Direct ever, and a note to Trade Direct, please don't bother writing your customary response to this review, I'm not interested, neither was your customer care team when I phoned.
No I don't recommend, and I'll never use them again.
