I enjoyed my trip to Montenegro a lot. The hikes were very nice, pretty, nice views, and to me, they meant a demanding effort, but not so much, as a I expected. I enjoyed the rafting too. Vera was a great guide.
The hotel was very confortable, and the town had a good offer of places to go to for dinner.
I can't really think of any improvements.
I' ll join you some other time, after this amusing good first enrichening experience with an international group

Had a great time hiking the alps in Albania!

I joined a hike with Trailmates Adventures in Albania and had a positive experience. The organisational side was excellent from start to finish. Communication was clear, everything was well-coordinated, and the logistics ran smoothly.

The guide, Saimir, was friendly, knowledgeable, and created a welcoming atmosphere throughout the hike. I also appreciated the focus on safety while still allowing everyone to enjoy personal preferences for pace, pictures etc.

The only aspect I think could be improved is the meal arrangements. Since only breakfast is included in the price, having to think about where to organise both lunch and dinner during the trip took away a little from what was otherwise a seamless experience. Including the meals in the price as part of the package, would make the whole experience even smoother and more relaxing for guests.

I’m back in Barcelona and still dreaming of Mestia! 😀 The trip to Svaneti in Georgia exceeded all my expectations. It was my first group travel experience, and it couldn’t have gone better.

Georgi was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable, organized, and made the whole experience enjoyable. The group was amazing, and being only six people made it so easy to connect and bond quickly. I really appreciated the small group size; I think a larger group would have changed the dynamic.

The hiking routes were absolutely spectacular, the hotel was excellent, and the organization from start to finish was top-notch. Everything ran smoothly, and I always felt well taken care of.

I also really appreciate that traimatesadventures is a small company, working with local guides, rather than a large organisation. The price was also very fair.

I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. I’d happily travel with them again!

Just finished an amazing hike in the Scottish highlands! Trailmates adventure did a spectacular job! The guide Scott wasn’t just a guide, the in-depth knowledge of the history and of the wildlife, plants and rock formations was above and beyond! Our group had the pleasure of Garry being there for our adventure. He went out of his way to make sure all reasonable needs were met! There attention to detail and making sure the group had a safe but great time was spot on! I have already booked my second adventure and can’t wait!

I just returned from the trip to the Slovenian Alps 🇸🇮 and I would highly recommend Trailmates.

Our local guide was very knowledgable, adapted to fit the group and always had a plan B and C incase of weather. The hikes were well paced, with varying levels during the week and the guide was also great at giving us confidence.

Everything was very well organised and Garry is always available to contact with any questions.

Of course the scenery was amazing and it was great to find a trip with a focus on hiking!

I will definitely book again for next summer, I just have to decide where!

I’ve just gotten back from a week in Slovenia and couldn’t have had a better time. The tour was well organised, with the guide very knowledgable on the area and the conditions so that they could be adapted with the weather. The hotel was also lovely, with a good breakfast and facilities to be used when we weren’t hiking.

It was my first group trip and I was nervous about going solo, but there was no need to worry. My roommate was lovely and the people 10/10. Would definitely do another trip with Trailmates.

This was my first ever hiking trip and the trip to Madeira did not disappoint at all. Our guides Paulo and Eliza were absolutely amazing, they knew all the routes and kept to the different paces within the group. The communication every day was amazing so we always knew what to expect the next day. The day off was great so we could take it easy if needed or take a stroll around Madeira to see the other sites. I would recommend if your thinking of a hiking holiday and amazing views.

I absolutely loved my hiking holiday with Trailmates. We went to Slovenia and were rewarded with the most breathtaking views. Our guide was fantastic and everything was well organised. I have a fear of exposed edges and paths but I felt that the group were supportive and the guide ensured I was safe and in good hands. Our accommodation was comfortable and our guide kept us updated about the plan for the day ahead. Would definitely book again with Trailmates Adventures 😊

One small suggestion: it would be great to include a short group stretch before and after each hike, and encourage hikers to build some fitness beforehand so everyone can enjoy the experience even more.

The Maderia trip was fantastic. The hikes were well organised and varied. Everything ran smoothly. Spectacular scenery. Good central accomodation. Met some great new people. The communication and customer care from the team was brilliant. I would definitely book again with this company. Garry is brilliant and responds to all queries quickly and really cares about your experience.

I really enjoyed the week in the Dolomites, the mix of longer and shorter hikes was well planned out, our guide Luca was great and we had a lovely group. The hotel was very nice too. My personal preference would be to have had another day with something like the day 2 lake.. that was really striking and I loved it, the one on the last day was not so exciting! A few more ideas and suggestions of places that could fairly easily be reached by bus etc on the rest day would have been good as well.

Garry and the team made my trip hiking in Dolomites unbelievable. He has carefully curated a hiking experience for the advanced to the beginner. You are in hands that care!

Dolomites

It was my first time hiking in the Dolomites, so I decided to book with a group, and I'm so glad I did. It was a great way to meet interesting people. Everyone was friendly and supportive. It was a memorable trip – the hikes, routes, and overall experience were fantastic.

The trails were beautiful and thoughtfully planned, with a great balance of moderate and more challenging hikes. It was also nice to have a rest day in between, which gave everyone a chance to recover and enjoy the town.

Our local guide Luca was excellent. I loved his passion for the mountains and his dedication to his profession. I always felt safe under his leadership and never once felt that the group was put in a risky situation.

The pick-up and drop-off transfers were well organised, always punctual, professional, and comfortable. The hotel was a lovely family-run place with very clean rooms, and the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.

I would happily book another trip and would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to hike with a well organised group.

I had a wonderful week in Theth, Albania travelling with Trailmates Adventures and would highly recommend. This is the first time using Trailmates and wouldn't hesitate in recommending and using myself again. The guide we had for this trip was Saimir, who was very likeable and knowledgable on all the hikes included, always going out of his way to make sure everyone is the group was comfortable, and the pacing was right. The hotel we stayed in as a base for the trip was equally comfortable, owned by a lovely family, where nothing was too much trouble.

Highly recommend Trailmates Adventures for group tours. Just completed my first ever group tour in Albania and it was well organised and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The hikes were great and the local tour guide was very knowledgeable. A fantastic experience!

Just back from a great adventure in the dolomites, actually I can’t think of anything to complain about, one thing for myself, maybe I didn’t bring the ideal boots, and further should have guessed the possibility of some snow which for me means bring crampons, but overall the advice, transfers, hotel and guide all done perfectly, and of course the gang was absolutely brilliant, plenty of laughs, not to mention the star of the show: the dolomites alps, jaw dropping.

I went on my first group hiking holiday and chose Trailmates and the Dolomites. I am a beginner when it comes to hiking and this trip was so worth it on a personal and fitness level.

Our guide was from the local area and that brought brilliant experience and knowledge.

Overall, I had a great time.

A few bits of feedback that might be useful (and a few reminders for myself too!):
1. Fitness levels – I underestimated the level of fitness needed. Don’t underestimate the endurance and leg strength that’s required to tackle these mountains safely!
2. Hiking boots – Definitely needed and wear them in for safety. Trainers don’t really cut it
3. The itinerary – I thought the split worked really well: three hiking days, a rest day, then another two hiking days. It felt like a good balance.
4. The hikes and Luca – It was obvious that the routes had been chosen carefully, avoiding the really overcrowded Instagram-famous spots. Luca was brilliant throughout. We were probably a bit cheeky with him at times, but he was always patient, gave great safety advice, and shared plenty of useful hiking tips.
5. The hotel – The hotel was excellent. Breakfast was great, and although the dinner menu was a little limited, there were plenty of good restaurants nearby, so it was nice to have some variety. The staff were fantastic and genuinely cared about making sure everyone had a good stay.

A well organised trip to the Dolomites. Had the best time as a solo traveller and made friends for life on the trip. Will book through them again in future.

I just finished up a week long hike with Trailmates through the Julian Alps of Slovenia and had an amazing time. This was the fourth company I’ve used to do hikes and Trailmates was by far the best. We had a really fun group of similar ages, the guide was extremely informative, the trails were challenging but doable, and the accommodation provided was nice and good value for money.

I would particularly recommend this company to solo travelers since it’s going to cost you more to do it yourself; while also missing out on the fun group dynamic. Trailmates conducts dozens of hikes in different countries and I am already planning on signing up for another one because I had such a great time.
