Poor manufacturing tolerances, poor customer support
Does not respond to customers wanting help with their products. I have a rear hub v3 where the axle is out of spec, as in too thick on the drive side. Which makes the driver not spin freely, and causes the bearing to be squashed due to interference fit from both the hub and the axle. They sent me a new axle some time ago, but this one too suffers the same problem: Drive side is too thick. I can't even slide the bearing on it. I then reached out over a week ago to get help, but no response since.
Is Tree out of business?
I'd love to love their products. The design is great, I love how sturdy a straight pull wheel is. But with poor manufacturing tolerances their stuff do not work as they are supposed to. Maybe I've been very unlucky here. On the other hand, how hard is it to QA an axle? "Can I slide a bearing and a driver on it without using a hammer or a bearing press? Yes: Pass. No: Throw away or machine off more material.".
If Tree gets back to me within reasonable time, and we manage to get my hub working as intended once and for all, I'd be happy.
Edit: They're also deleting reviews on their web page if they don't like the rating. Nice. Gave the rear hub a two star review because of the problems mentioned here, it got deleted. So reviews are only accepted if Tree agrees to them.
