TruGreen - Cincinnati South Reviews 6

As of 6/11/2026 still waiting for someone to reach out and communicate the status of resolving our issue.

We've been TruGreen customers for a couple of years and up until this issue we've had great success with our lawn care.

On 5/6/2026 we had the TruShrub Bark and Foliage Protection service completed. Within 12hrs or less, our beautiful Dogwood of over 4 years died. Both my husband and I have made numerous phone calls, email requests and were told that someone would be getting back with us. I was told just yesterday this issue still had an open ticket and would be escalated. The lack of communication is beyond unprofessional. We are at 16 days with our dead tree, and no communication from anyone. My husband was told that he would hear back from Ryan on 5/18 and still nothing.
We sent a section of a branch to the Kenton County Agricultural Extension Office and they confirmed it died due to leaf scorch from a chemical.
I will take this as far up as it needs to go in order to have our beautiful tree replaced.
We continue to receives bills for this service, unreal.

I feel sure this company is a sham! I would give this company no zero's if it were possible. I requested service after spring seasons so my treatments would be post-season for weeds in my lawn. I agreed to this and opened an account. The 1st treatment smelled strong and possibly contains green dye because when I called, their tech asked if my lawn looked greener!? Well, it was already green so... I have outdoor cameras and was able to look at where the tech had applied treatment and the tech didn't spray my backyard at all. I called about this and a tech returned and somewhat sprayed the area. The weeds did not die. I called Truegreen and complained and was told a 2nd treatment was necessary to kill stubborn weeds. But when the tech came back for the 2nd treatment, the note he left me stated he had actually fertilized lawn and didn't apply anymore broad weed killer and that didn't even work! So, I called and cancelled my account, I paid for the 2nd application, (fool me twice, my expense) and I requested my payment information be removed from their system. What a farse!

We signed up for TruGreen in the Cincinnati area to come service our lawn and spray for mosquitos. They had a tech come 3 times and lie about servicing our lawn. My wife caught them through the window pulling up to the house, walking to the front yard to put a sign up, and then again to the back before just getting back in the car and leaving and marking us as “completed service”.

This caused us to look back at the other two services and sure enough, same thing. They were charging us hundreds of dollars to put a sign in our front yard. Naturally, I called to speak to a manager to cancel service and he convinced us to stay under the promise that they would redo the services free of charge, and even threw in a few extras to keep us as customers.

The very next time they serviced us, they double charged us. I called them to discuss the double charge and remind them of the deal we had made, and they said “No such deal was ever made” and then refused to give us our money back. This company stole from us in every sense of the word, and have been very untrustworthy every step of the way. I have never witnessed anything more unethical and slimy in my entire life. Save yourself a headache and save your cash, and look somewhere else.

If I could give them no stars I would. I have one of those video doorbells. They said they did the yard but they didn’t. When I called their customer service they said they left paperwork on my door knob they didn’t. I told them I wanted to speak to a supervisor no call back. If anyone has one of those video doorbells it also goes off to the distance you set it for if anyone is there, which our goes out to the street, it will ring.No ring.

After spending over $900, our yard looks worse than ever. Their customer service is also some of the absolute worst I've ever encountered in my life. Do not spend a single penny with this company.

I have had numerous issues with this company.
I requested aeration last year and they indicated they would be here within the next week. A month and a half later we are on the patio at 630pm and a young man comes through the yard with the machine (actually there were two of them). Single pass, done in about 25 minutes. No call prior to arriving and after they had departed there were very few “plugs” in the lawn. I called and the young lady said the manager would get back to me… did not.
Recently we had our service and the technician indicated everything looked good continue watering and cutting as we had. We had large brown spots, the next day we had numerous birds feasting in the yard, we discovered we had an army worm infestation.
Price keeps increasing…
Bottom line we discontinued service.
