This company will rape you with fees
This company switched me from paper to digital statements, they did not register my email and imputed my SS # wrong. I was continually locked out of statements requiring hours on the phone. It took weeks to correct the issue. Then over a period of 6 months they dinged my account almost $1000. In fees which I would only see after the fact. I complained, and was then told my account would be reviewed by a "management team for a deeper look". NO ONE REACHED OUT. I switched To Helcuim which costs me 3.5% not the 6 to 10% I was paying. I am small potatoes and ran virtual, one charge back in over 30 years. Stay away from this company
Complex fees, unclear pricing, and disappointing support
Long-time customer (15+ years) who finally dug into the details. What I found was deeply disappointing.
Despite being told our “rates were lowered” and being shown a side-by-side comparison, our effective processing costs remained very high due to layered fees, downgrades, minimums, and fixed charges that were never clearly addressed. The “Client Satisfaction Offer” reduced headline rates but did not change the underlying pricing model, and extended the contract with termination penalties.
I also opened a second company account after being told customers could be easily migrated from my original account. After onboarding and speaking with five different employees, I was told this was not possible, and no help or solution was offered. This was time-consuming, costly, and avoidable.
Nothing illegal — just opaque pricing, poor internal alignment, and a structure that rewards long-term inertia. If you don’t actively audit every line item, you will overpay. I would not recommend this processor to any recurring or subscription-based business that values transparency.

Former customer, awful customer service. Our web designers built them into our website years ago . Payment was automatic draft originally , when we rebuilt our website we went with Shopify. Having no tech knowledge I didn’t realize we were still being charged by them years after rebuilding the website with a totally new company. Noticed an automated draft and called to see what it was, then I learned they were still charging us yearly and even added fees for inactivity. We cancelled the service and asked if we could be refunded at least for the first payment this year and they said no. Even though they’ve gotten thousands from us for doing absolutely nothing. They say we signed a contract, still waiting for that to be produced… they even had the audacity to tell me as a business owner I should keep an eye on automatic drafts, yeah every business owner knows that but we all have so much going out it’s nearly impossible. Maybe don’t set your company up to automatic draft inactive or dead accounts for years ??? Awful predatory experience.

TSYS Global Payments has levied a $499.00 annual fee on 12/31/25 with just a flip of the switch not in our contract which isn't up till 9/2026 they won't remove it TOO BAD FOR US and the fee will be levied again in December of 2026. We are a small business and this is our last year in business and they DO NOT CARE! Pay it or you can drop us! WOW what a way to do business!! UGH

I was with this company stupidly for 26 years. I wasn’t monitoring my statements because they quit sending them to me and I couldn’t access them online. My accountant recently enlightened me that they’ve been charging me well over 10 percent!! Also, I canceled them over two months ago and they just grabbed another $1500 or so out of my bank that I need to dispute with my bank. They never provided anything in writing that I canceled. When I called them I was stuck with AI for long periods. When I finally got through to a human they were reading from a script and clueless. I’m having my accountant do a report and turning them in to the Attornry General’s office and wherever else. I’m now with Square which is great. This is a very unethical company. Do not sign up with them!!!!

I suddenly looked on my bill after 10 years of being with this company and seen a fee of $450 infracture upgrade now once a year. No way ridiculous I said no I want that refunded back into my account. I never signed anything. Oh we had a little message in the mail on your one invoice I said I didn’t see it and I didn’t ok it .. they said they couldn’t take it off. I said then I am going to cancel this company. Well if you cancel there’s a $500 cancellation fee. I can take off the $ 450 but not the $ 500. Then said OK I can take off the 500 and not the 450 and I said cancel and he goes. I’ll work on getting you the 450 back so he canceled my company with them. Then I called today and they said oh we can’t give you the 450 back because you canceled and we can’t put it in your account. Such scammers, ridiculous . I said you will send me a check then ..you stole my money. I said I’ll report you to the Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau and a few other places and I’m gonna see where I can make these complaints that someone might help me get my money back.

We were with TSYS for over fifteen years. No chargebacks. Rates crept up over the time period as they merged first with Heartland and then Global Payments. Got to the point where their rates and surprise hidden fees were just laughably silly (multiples of the contracted rates). It's just such a hassle to change processors that I'm sure customers let them get away with it, but what an awful way to do business. We finally invested the time to leave their orbit and am so glad we did. Our new processor is technologically better and offers the same/better rates than what we were originally contracted with TSYS so many years ago.

Despite being given a case # nothing has happened and they have continued to charge me monthly fees. Never mind that this company goes by at least three names and/or changes their name at least annually. If you are considering them as your POS, run! Run for the hills!!

This company is an absolutely horrible. Our fee % slowly creeped up over the years until the last few months they've gouged 9.6% of all of our revenue coming in from CCs. We've been with them since 6 years and it started out reasonable enough. They do it very sneakily and steadily until they are gouging from you. I concur with all of these other negative reviews. They should be put out of business.

If I could give a zero, I would. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!! They promise one thing and then give you something totally else. I told them I was closing my business and they are charging me a $500 fee to do so. Their fees keep going up and up. They promised to lower my fees instead they went up. Now they are saying because they told me 2 years ago that they would and I told her I would be closing my business in less than 3 years, she told me at the time, my fees would be waived and not to be worried about it. Well.... now I have a $500 fee for a business that went out of business. Was told I won't owe it, then I was told I did, then I was told I didn't and now I was told I would. What a deceptive company.
Global Payments-Tsys is the WORST…
Global Payments-Tsys is the WORST credit card processing I've used. When I called about questions regarding their contract that I had to sign, I was told, "Ma'am, you are the ONLY one I've ever know to have read the contract. I will have to get back to you on this."
When I wanted to end the service i tried calling 90 days in advance per the agreement I downloaded from their site. I was told there was no such need.
So, when I went to cancel, they billed me for an EARLY cancellation fee! When I called to request my money back and READ THEM THE AGREEMENT, they told me that was not their agreement - bait & switch or what?
Also, I was told at the onset, they would help with PCI compliance, which they did at first. Then, I couldn't get help with PCI compliance. I called their number, they transferred me to another number, who put me on hold and eventually had me call the first number that I called. If that isn't run-around, I don't know what is. BTW - both times, it cost me over 2 hours of my time on hold.
Unless you are rich beyond measure and have LOTS of time to burn, seek another credit card processor!

I spoke to Kurt in the technical support department and we were on a 3 way call with the merchant to assist them with a duplicate batch issue and honestly this was my best experience with a TSYS rep. Kurt went above and beyond and was very thorough and patient with me and the merchant. He provided excellent advice and was a delight. Give that man a promotion!

I wish I could give these grifter scumbags a -1000 stars. This company is such a rip off it can be hardly comprehended. I agree with every one of these negative reviews and had the same experience and even worse. TSYS overcharges, swindle, increase rates, gouge your checking account and justify it. If you try and cancel your account they try to charge you $500 and say it was in the contract. When I asked for the contract to see it they would not send it to me unless I called one of their scumbags because the information in my contract was very "sensitive" which is total BS. They hit my checking account with an additional "mandatory" $800 at the end of 2024 saying they needed it to keep their systems up to date with changes in regulatory laws and it was "absolutely necessary." NO other cc processing company ever has done this to my corporation.
As for customer service.... it is a NIGHTMARE. They switch you to 10 different departments with 10 different rude, arrogant, condescending, dismissive smug shills. I can't go backwards and reclaim the massive money they screwed me out of and overcharged me out of with their endless rate increases and surcharges.....but I hope this review saves a person from ever doing business with TSYS, USAEPAY, Global Payments etc.
When I finally stopped using this HORRIBLE TSYS service and they withdrew my last fees...then I blocked them from my checking account and told my bank about them and showed them the reviews on Trust Pilot. Then the scumbags of TSYS switched their name slightly under a different heading and still withdrew more money. I had to close my account ( what a hassle) to finally stop the bleeding. My accountant and myself have reported them to the BBB.

I was with them for 9 years. Started out reasonable enough. Most of my payments are over the phone, so I understood the above average rate of about 5%. However the last few years they had continued to really raise the rates and then add extra fees. By last year my monthly fees totalled about 10% of my monthly processing. They did a 1-time charge last year for Infrastructure Upgrade Fee of about $179.00, Now this year was a Technology Fee of $499.00 to be posted on March 31, 2025. They said if you object to the Fee you can cancel. I sent them an on March 28 and told them to cancel my service and NOT to take out the Fee because I objected. On April 7 I got my statement and they took out the fee. I called and they said that they ignored my email "Because you have to call in to cancel service, you can't just email it in". I told them that there was no way for me to know that because I had never cancelled my service before. They did finally cancel my service but They told me that they would not refund my 499.00. I escalated to Supv over the next few days and they finally sent me to the Legal team, and told me to have my Attorney talk to their Legal Team.
These People suck and we need to do a CLASS ACTION Lawsuit. These rates are ridiculous and The Customer Service is Not Helpful. Also a few months ago I got a chargeback for $1290. and they told me that my business would just have to eat it!
