It works well, I guess. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have to learn how to type for a very important reason, because it is a fairly long (about 3 hours) course for just the 'basics'. However, it did show me how to type correctly, so it technically works. Be ready for long, repetitive exercises without any offers of a certificate!

Age restrictions

Our class teacher made us do all of the lessons on this website. It's not that the website is horrible or whatever, but I personally think that it should specify somewhere that the website is made, for example, for ages in between 8 to 13, so high schoolers that have basically been living on the internet aren't forced to waste 5 hours of their life on "learning" how to write.

I was required to take a typing test for a job on indeed and for the past 45 minutes it has forced my hand to create an account, etc. etc. and there is no place to request a certificate be printed. If you want someone to take a test find another web site and make sure your would be employee understands what they have to do before lthey will be allowed to print their test.

Bad Experience Overall

This website is honestly sucks, the lesson are very laggy and also it tends to log you out at random times half way through a lesson. And sometimes it even completely freezes.

What typing.com says is a lie

Typing.com says it can help me learn to touch type, and increase my typing speed. Both of them are lies. I can type at 40 wpm when I started using typing.com. it didn't even help at all. at the end my speed because 45 wpm. Now, I can type at 90 wpm, and typing.com didn't help increase my speed at all. And for the touch typing, I only used my index fingers to type when I started. now I can type using all 10 fingers and typing.com did not help at all

Huge latencies

It’s a good platform overall, but there are noticeable latencies, especially when handling videos (such as scrolling up). It takes over 2 seconds for input to reflect on the UI after typing.

Don't waste your money

Where do I begin? First, there isn't a lot of content for students to engage with during a semester-long class, and the lessons are very short. Second, when creating a custom tying lesson, you are limited to only 2,000 characters, which is frustrating. Third, there is no option to call and speak to a human; all communication must be done through email. As a teacher who teaches multiple subjects, I don't have the time to type a lengthy email, wait for a response, and then reply again when they haven't addressed my question or their solution didn’t work.

This has been a HORRIBLE experience, and I will not be renewing the licenses, as it has been a waste of money. In the past, I used edutyping.com, which offered much more content and better lessons, but it didn’t sync with Google Classroom, which was the only reason I switched to typing.com.

Additionally, I am disappointed with how it integrates with Google Classroom. It doesn’t allow you to set up assignments for multiple classes at once; instead, you have to go into each class individually to set them up, which is a hassle. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this platform for semester-long high school classes or high school in general.
