Driver came to the wrong destination
Driver came to the wrong destination, rang him and he didn’t care, just cancelled the trip on me. Uber then charged me £8 because of this, which I complained about and it was refunded, but only as credit against a future journey. I don’t want a future journey, I want my money back.
Uber (AKA UnreliaBlE Rides)
Booked a trip to the airport the day before (Gatwick airport) and a driver was assigned for the trip as per notification from the app. Pick up time 6.10 on a Sunday morning. No driver showed up and at 6.21 the trip was canceled by the company. No help from Uber support. We almost missed our flight because of this. Nothing illegal was made according to the terms and conditions (and yes, I did read them before making the booking), but the level of nonchalance by Uber is amazing.
I know my review is representative only of experience. But whenever you need a ride to the airport, a business meeting, appointment with a caregiver or even dinner with your in-laws ask yourself, do you want to risk it with Uber?
Drivers are given way too much power
Drivers are given way too much power, cancel the trip constantly even after waiting 20mins+, drivers will park miles away (literally) from pick up points and then charge you for the time they spend waiting for you to run to the taxi, they cancel and then wait for the price to increase before they pick up your fair (mainly when it's peak times) and i've had drivers speed off and cancel when i'm about to get into the car. Use other companies and NOT uber...1* out of 5* speaks for itself.

If it had 0 stars I would give that rating ordered an Uber from Chester le street train station today 18/09/2023 I had to ring him after saying my taxi is outside couldn’t care less where I was I was on the north side didn’t realise car park was in the other side of the tracks. I only know this because when I rang blueline taxis they actually asked me which side of the track I’m on so lost £7.97 on an Uber that never took me anywhere disgusting

UBER RIPS YOU OFF!!
They are desperately trying to rip their customers off! I was traveling by tube to Tottenham Hale to discover that all overground rail was cancelled due to a fault. So I thought let’s get Uber to Waltham Abbey which it should be no more than £15-£16. The cheapest one available was £33, there were plenty around in the area and most of them were quoting into the £40 bracket!! The message that came up in the app was the the ‘price is higher due to high demand’!!
Anyway I chose the cheapest one at £33 and when I mentioned it to the driver (who was a nice guy btw) he wasn’t even aware this was happening and told me that they don’t get even a penny more from this increase! So all the money by ripping off customers goes to Uber but not the drivers. What a f. joke of a company!
Absolute Disgrace
I have only given them a 1 star as there isn’t a minus star review. I ordered from McDonalds app which is delivered by Uber Direct and what an absolute joke I was missing a burger and the rest of the food was stone cold. I called to ask for a refund and was told that I could only get a refund for the missing burger, even tho the rest was inedible. What an absolute joke of a company I will NEVER use this company again. Nor will I order from mcDonalds again.
I forgot my mobile phone in a UBER car
I forgot my mobile phone in a UBER car. Just when I left the car, I phoned the driver who didn't answer. I left a message at the "forgotten items" on UBER's website and they said my mobile wasn't in that car, when I could indeed track the way the car drove because MY MOBILE WAS THERE and I know where and when my mobile phone was seen for the last time. I'M SO UPSET. It's not just for the mobile phone but for all the pictures I took after a week family vacation.

If I could leave a zero star review I absolutely would !
We ordered a MacDonald’s meal yesterday via the Macdonalds app.
I soon had messages via Uber direct the company delivering saying that the driver ( Ionel F.) had our order and that it was on its way, he then said that he’d contacted us and he hadn’t, I tracked him and he was streets away. I then had a message from Uber direct saying our order had been delivered, it hadn’t. I rang the driver, he didn’t pick up, I text him he ignored it. Customer services at MacDonald’s was a virtual one who were no help. We rang Uber customer services number who said because we’d been contacted (we still hadn’t) that our food had been delivered (it never was) and they wouldn’t help us. Eventually a nice young man in the Malvern MacDonald’s branch has said he would help, he very kindly replaced our meal for free, he didn’t have to but luckily he believed us. My husband showed him the screen shots of the driver I’d taken from the tracking we were given, he said he knew who he was. Nothing will be done obviously as it’s our word against his. I am beyond angry and extremely upset as this has been so stressful. I’m disgusted at the way we’ve been treated. This man is a thief and should be sacked as he gave our meal worth £30+ to someone else! He obviously is getting paid by the recipient to do so.
This type of thing could so easily be rectified just by the drivers taking a photo on delivery of the customers house number with them holding the delivery just like other company’s do. This has to stop!
Customer service is no help with this…
Customer service is no help with this company. Ordered McDonald’s online. The driver couldn’t find the address. Didn’t even bother to call to find out where my address was. I tried calling the driver and it’s the 3rd time he picked up the phone. All the driver was saying to me was “No English!!” my burger was crushed at the bottom of the bag. The ice cream was melted. All Uber said to me was sorry and will try better. 😡

Booked an UBER 3 weeks in advance and clearly specified the address/post code of the pick up point. Car was sent but never arrived at the specified pick-up point. Had to order a second Uber who had trouble finding us but using mobile found him 2 streets away. UBER charged me for both cars - £100 for an 8 mile journey. Despite efforts to get a refund for first Uber, they refused to refund. I am closing my account and would advise anyone NOT to use UBER.
Unauthorised ‘Tip’ charged to credit card
FURTHER UPDATE: After continuously saying that it would be impossible to refund me the unauthorised payment of £5, as they had 'already passed it on to the driver', they have now seen sense and have refunded the illegally taken money to my credit card account (but only just this once as a "gesture of good will" - REALLY??) .. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM PEOPLE!!! I WILL NEVER EVER USE UBER AGAIN NOW I KNOW THEY ARE DOING THIS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!
UPDATE: Uber have said they are unable to refund the unauthorised 'tip' they charged to my credit card without my permission - as this has already been passed on to their driver! UNACCEPTABLE Uber - it is up to YOU to get your money back from YOUR driver if YOU have paid this to him (we have already paid the driver £5 cash tip from US personally). YOU need to refund the unauthorised money YOU have taken from MY account - and sort your situation out with your driver yourselves. That is NOT my problem.
Used Uber today at quoted price of £16.98 - gave the driver £5 cash tip at the end of the journey which he seemed pleased with. However, have now seen that I have been charged £21.98 on my credit card, which includes a £5 tip!!! I DID NOT authorise this payment as had already paid a tip in cash!! WATCH OUT PEOPLE … looks like this is a new unauthorised charge by drivers …
Shocking experience with Uber
Shocking experience with Uber on trip to Bristol. First driver insisted in drop off 10 mins walk from destination. Second suggested a virtually impossible to find pick-up point (I had my location enabled) and when I finally found him, he charged me a waiting fee. Finally, when I needed to get to the station to return home, the Uber network crashed.
£15 for a 4 minute drive!!!
£15 for a 4 minute drive! It was just over a mile. Only got a taxi because the weather was soo bad.
We were also charged a waiting fee even though the driver had gone to the wrong place.
