Ubreakifix doesn't stand behind their work

Went to 7610 LYNDALE AVENUE S.
SUITE 700
RICHFIELD, MN 55423 and had the cell phone charger replaced (was unable to plug in my charging cable). The repair seemed to work, but the phone charger was still grabbing when the charging cable was inserted. The ubreakitifix store rep said the phone still can charge. What type of response is that!!! 2 days later, the same problem reoccurred (was unable to plug in my charging cable). I went to the 3401 W Frye Rd #8, Chandler, AZ 85226 location to have it replaced. They said the charger in the phone is broken and was most likely not replaced, not covered under warranty and the ubreakitifix store I went to is independently owned and not a franchise. The rep didn't care at all about my concern and just "recited the company policy" like a programmed robot. This is totally unexpectable and ridiculous. I paid $120 for a repair that wasn't performed correctly, the same concern reoccurred 2 days later, which ubreakifix refused to stand up to correctly fix due to a faulty repair.
I just askwd to fix my phone properly. Though ubreakifix customer service did an investigation with both locations, ubreakifix claimed moisture caused the phone charger and refused to repair. Moisture in 2 days??? I live in Phoenix; a dry desert climate!!! Totally unexpectable and ridiculous!!! I never go back to ubreakifix again!!!

They broke my 9th generation iPad…

I use my 9th generation iPad professionally in my musical act. It had a slight undisplaced crack near the top of the screen from a fall, but otherwise worked perfectly. In my vanity, I decided to get the screen replaced. I checked out the cost of a screen replacement vs. buying a new 9th generation iPad; UbreakIfix (Del Mar, CA) quote was good, so I went for it. After 3 screen replacements – first the new screen didn’t respond to touch, then the home button failed to work – they said they couldn’t fix it any better. Home button still doesn’t work. Three trips to the store, and each time they told me that it worked perfectly. They didn’t charge me – but now I have had to pay $249 for a new one, and can no longer sell or trade in the old one, though Best Buy would have given me $82 in trade in with the crack. Do not go to these guys!

They are the worst

They are the worst. I arrive at the Union NJ AT&T store, they help me make an appointment to get my iPhone 14 glass and back fixed. At&t are requesting for a full replacement of the phone, but aurison refused. They make an appointment for one of their techs to come to my home. The tech cancels the appointment 30mins after arrival time, because he did not have the supplies. So I requested for a full replacement, because I requested I was told I had to pay $279. What is the point of having the insurance?

Hermitage, TN franchise

This is my original review followed by updates every two weeks for the Hermitage, TN store, and it will continue to be updated on Google maps as well as other review sites going forward.

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with the the UbreakIfix Franchise store in Hermitage, which I feel compelled to share. Initially, I took my iPad Pro in for a charging port replacement. However, during the repair process, the screen was broken. When I returned to the store, I was informed that fixing the screen would cost an additional $549, and the charging port still had not been replaced. From my perspective, this situation reflects a lack of professionalism and accountability. I declined any further service and retrieved my iPad without any repairs completed. Given the circumstances, I am not confident in the store’s ability to perform the repairs correctly. I am now forced to take my iPad elsewhere and bear the cost of a screen repair for damage I did not cause.

Updates

Update: 7/13/24
Unfortunately, there is still no resolution. Earlier this week, I brought my iPad Pro to the UbreakiFix store in downtown Nashville because it seems that the Hermitage franchise is uninterested in serving our community responsibly. The Nashville store, which is not a franchise, intends to contact the Hermitage location to discuss covering some of the screen repair costs. Their words were, "They should cover some of the cost." I hope they step up as responsible business owners, but I will continue to update this review to ensure transparency.

Update: 7/1/24
Regrettably, there is still no resolution. This review will continue to be updated every two weeks to provide a clear view of how this store appears to neglect its responsibilities to the community and its patrons.

Update: 6/17/24
So far, the only response I have received is a standard, canned reply from the store, which does not address my concerns. They have my phone number yet the franchisee has not called to seek a resolution. This lack of genuine engagement seems indicative of their approach to customer service.

Terrible experience with Asurion & U-break I-Fix

Asurion sent is to U-break I-fix because we had coverage & our phone was not working because of a cracked screen. We went to the location in Austin Texas on Parmer Dr. They were very disorganized and we had to show up three different times because each time it was not ready as promised. The last time when we went to pick it up they had it ready with the new screen, but proceeded to say that Apple had not sent the calibration approval. They couldn’t even really explain what that was, but they said they couldn’t release the phone without it. They then proceeded to take the phone to the back and remove the new screen and put back on the broken one. This was after we had spent literally hours of dealing them with them about the pick up time. And also after Apple had already approved the repair. We had to leave town the next day so we quickly had to find a place to replace the screen. This cost us $160 that should have been covered under Asurion. Asurion did not take any responsibility to rectify this for us nor did U-break I-fix. Such a racket!

Bad customer service and a total ripoff

Went in there today at their niles location to see if they can get this small shard of metal removed from the charging port of a switch lite I bought. The man who sold it to me said his daughter might’ve broken a piece of the charger in there causing the charger to not fit. So it was simple just use whatever tools they have to get that little piece out but instead of doing that the lady was kind of rude and ignorant she barely looked in there and quoted me 190 dollars to replace it but said it wasn’t worth it for a switch lite. I then repeated to her that it’s not broken it just needs to have that tiny metal piece plucked out of there and she just kept brushing me off and saying that’s the only way and it’s not worth it. So I left, the man at T-Mobile was better and almost got it out yesterday but said he doesn’t have the special tweezers tech stores use so he recommended I take it here but man was he wrong they’re absolutely useless! Not wasting my time and money so I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. That’s ridiculous that for a little shard of metal they won’t help me and instead would charge me almost what the system is worth in retail.

Worst Customer Service Ever

On 5-6-2024 I drove my grandson to Gainesville Ga store to have the HDMI port repaired or replaced. The repair sheet quote stated $100 for cleaning which customer refused and $140 for HDMI repair. The Estimated turnaround May 21. After several calls over several weeks talking to Chris and Alex they said they would investigate. Never, I repeat never, did either Chris or Alex call me back. Alex even told me Chris was going out of his way to help me by trying to find out why my unit was late. I mistakenly thought that was his job. I asked several times to give me the owners name and phone number. He told me it was against company policy and refused. I then asked for the corporate franchise contact and was again told it was against company to give that information. I research who owned UBreakifix and Asurian is the parent company. Got a hold of complaint department and in no time at all they researched and found the Xbox was lost or stolen and sent a check for the price of a used unit through Amazon or GameStop. When we put in the order they required a $70 deposit. It was paid. After getting the settlement I called the store and Alex said he would contact Chris about a refund of the deposit and he would be in touch. Of course he never called. I called again and Chris said he tried to get refund but system would not allow because the $70 was listed as a diagnostic charge. We were not told there would be a diagnostic charge. We were quoted $140 to fix HDMI port, period. They did not fix anything. They want to charge $70 for something that was never fixed on a console that was lost. This is wrong on so many levels. I would recommend this establishment be avoided at all costs.

Even their own website says free diagnostic, no obligation statement. They are simply dishonest people.

Broken Promises, Money lost and Uncaring Staff

I Dropped off a PS5 on June 2nd at the Pensacola store after they assured me it could be fixed and that it was only requiring a new HDMI port. I got the phone call july 3rd that it would be ready for pick up so I used my lunch hour from work to go pick it up. I asked if they were sure it was working properly and would be tested before I left and the gentleman assured me that it would be in great condition and work. I get home and ask my husband to hook it up only to discover that who ever took the covers off the console and put them back on snapped a wire inside of it now it is completely broken. I’m out roughly ($400 console $200 they charged to fix console) $600, an entire month of waiting for it to not actually be fixed, nor was it checked to be in working condition before I left that store.

Dropped off a working phone, picked up a dead one.

I brought my Pixel 8 pro in for a cracked screen. It was working without issues when I dropped it off. They removed the glass, replaced it with new and the phone no longer worked. They put the old glass back on and returned the phone and, according to their tracking system, no repair was attempted. I have an email from them stating exactly what they did. Now, as a result, I have to pay an additional $100 for a replacement. Yes, mistakes happen, just own up to them!

Phone fix

My phone would not charge. I took it to Nate at the Davenport, IA store. He had it diagnosed and fixed in less than 15 minutes. Also showed me how to try to reboot and correct before having to bring it back if it happens again. No charge for this repair/fix. I am very happy.

I had my screen changed out

I had my screen changed out. It took two hours. Every time I would use it it glitched to the right. I went in. It took three hours to fix it. New screen glitches up and down. I took it in requesting refund. They said they would have to find a way to re-create my original screen for me to have a refund and I would have to leave my phone there again for three hours. Avoid this repair store

Store closed

I drove from Port Townsend WA to the closest UBREAKIFIX in Silverdale WA for an appt to fix my cracked screen. I made the appt through my Samsung phone acct on June 19th, '24 @ 4:00pm. Another customer was waiting to pick up her phone. The store was CLOSED for June teeth Day. No notice, no reschedule. Completely unacceptable as it took me over an hour through vacation traffic to get there. Needless to say, I will not be using this service again.

Customer service very lacking

I am a disabled elderly lady who had to make
3 trips to the shop. First tech was nice and said she would put me down for a 1:30 ready
So at 1:45 I was there only to be told it wasn’t ready by a different tech. I needed a new screen. I hobbled back to my car and the tech ran after me that it was in fact ready. But then another problem came up. The system went down so I couldn’t pay. They kept my phone and took my husbands phone number to call when the system to pay was available. But I didn’t get a call. I had to call them. At 4:30 I went back. Paid for the repair and left. Only to see later that there was a text message on my repaired phone. How was I supposed to get that message. Very lacking in customer service. They treated me like I was a bother. Which isn’t very nice when you’re disabled and a little slow

Go someplace else to get it fixed

My pixel 6 touch screen stopped working, (no physical damage) and it was after Google's warranty period so I paid them $220 to replace the screen. It came with 1 year warranty. After only 7 months, the screen stopped working again. I went back there to get it replaced. They didn't have the parts so I had to wait for a week (I wrote what I needed when I made the appt. No one bothered to check or let me know that they didn't have the parts. I drove there for no reason. They never followed up either. I found out they got the parts only because I call them). Now I'm there for the second time and this time, they're having trouble creating warranty claim. It was taking too long so I went out to eat at a restaurant and still no progress. I call them back the next day, the same story. Can't create the claim. I'm starting to think their warranties are never meant to claim it.

Update:
After following up tirelessly, I was able to get the screen replaced at no cost.

Don't take your old hardware to these people

My fraternal twin sister got myself, my brother-in-law and her a Surface Pro 4 when it came out. Fast forward 5 or so years later my battery started to swell so I looked for places that could change out my Surface 4 Pro battery and this place came up.
I took my Surface Pro 4 in and it took them a little over 2 weeks to do. When I got it back my charging port wouldn't charge and my Stylus wasn't working so I took it back. Three and a half weeks later I get my Surface Pro 4 back. My charging port works but my Stylus is still dead. I use this instead of my mouse most of the time. These people told me they can't fix it but will offer me $240 to get a used one.......My Surface Pro cost way more than that. My sister had custom programs installed on there and even purchased a backlit keyboard along with my Stylus equaling to over $1500. I can still use my Surface Pro 4 but it still gets extremely hot within a few minutes of usage but I can't get my Stylus to work. I think they tried to get the cheapest battery for my unit when the most compatible one only cost around $60-$70 and then offered to fund me the cheapest used Surface Pro 4 that's still available.
They were nice enough to offer me something but I will never go back to these people again.

phone problem?

I had a Samsung phone that was locked because the phone wouldnt accept my password for what ever reason. i just needed a factory reset and i talked to a man at ubreakifix and explained that the factory reset was the best that they could do and estimated because i didnt know the password or the original passcode that it would cost $100. it weas close to thier closing time so i decided not to go and see what i could do on my own. i was able to perform a hard reset and had a workable phone in front of me in about 10 minutes. the actual reset only really took about 3 minuites after i watched the right video.

Courteous but Lacking Solutions

Although the few tech persons I have spoken with over the phone when trying to file a claim online have been courteous and gracious, something always goes wrong, and I end up having to go into the store with my equipment. I try to avoid this as I am visually impaired and must haul my equipment in a ride share car. I wish someone could successfully help me fill out claims online.
