I made an appointment with their online…
I made an appointment with their online form. In it I checked the box for my type of phone and that it needed a new battery. I received several texts and email from them to remind me of my appointment. I drove for an hour to make it to my appointment on time, only to have the technician inform me that they didn't have the battery my phone needed. They offered to order it and reschedule a week later. But I'm not inclined to give my money to companies that display that kind of contempt toward their customers.
Do not use this company to fix your devices!
This is the Tapestry Park location in Jacksonville, FL
If I could give this place less than one star I would. I had several issues when leaving my phone such as a snarky attitude from the cashier when I refused to give them my passcode, but the main issue is that my phone no longer works. Ever since I had my screen repaired here a few weeks ago, my phone has never been the same. The screen wouldn't turn on properly and if I was talking on the phone and the screen turned off, I couldn't get it back on until the person hung up the phone. I was unable to hang up on the call. Tonight I had to turn the phone off to reboot and the screen just never turned back on. The phone is on because if someone calls, it rings, but the screen is black and won't activate. I have no way to answer the call or to get to anything on the phone. Do not take your phone or other devices here to be fixed.
Free diagnostics?-Beware!
Took google pixel6a in for free diagnostics to determine issue. The tech (professional?) Looked at the charging port and stated that there was a significant amount of dust/lint likely causing the charging issue, and if we wanted that cleaned, which should correct the issue. We agreed with their recommendation and paid for the cleaning. Afterwards (10 min) they stated that the issue was a motherboard, and wouldnt be worth investing that cost into the phone. So I requested a refund for their recommendation to perform a cleaning of the charging port. THEY REFUSED. So now we have a clean non working device. Will be reporting them to BBB, google customer service, and their home office. Would love to understand their definition of free diagnostics. This was experienced at the Pittsford, NY location.
I had these folks replace the battery…
I had these folks replace the battery on my iPhone 6s Plus. After just over a year I started having problems with my battery again. It got to the point where I had to get a used phone to replace my iPhone 6s plus. After about a month or so without charging it the battery in my iPhone 6s started bloating up. I had kept that phone because I have files that I wanted and hoped to replace the battery at some point but now that phone is ruined. I don’t know where these guys buy their batteries but they are worse than the ones they are replacing. I will never trust these guys to work on any of my devices again.
waste of money and time
The claim process is so complicated that it becomes overwhelming and time-consuming. After completing the paperwork and submitting pictures, you may feel like you shouldn't have started the process in the first place. To make matters worse, they often reject claims without a valid reason. When you call to inquire about the status of your claim, they ask for a lot of personal information, including a copy of your ID, which seems unnecessary given that you already have an account with multiple authentication measures in place.
It almost feels like a scam and not worth the money or time invested.
Fast and inexpensive.
I've dealt with them a couple of times, and in both cases the repairs where done quickly and for less than I expected. I hope I don't need anything fixed like that again, but if I do I'll be going to their business.
I came here today to get my screen repaired
I came here today to get my screen repaired. The technician told me that I would have to leave the phone unlocked to do the repair. That was fine as long as he did the repair in my presence. He said that he could not because of "new Samsung standards." Listen, it's 2024. Nobody needs to "go to the back" to repair a screen. They used to come to your house and do the repair there. Any "machine" needed for a screen repair can be placed out front so that the public can view your repair. I have a strong feeling of what these guys do in the back with female phones...and maybe males too. Do better! Make the process more transparent. Fix the device behind a clear plastic or glass barrier so that the public can observe as you make a quality repair. I had to factory reset my device to hand to them to protect both me and my clients' private information. Now I've had to go through the tedious process of restoring the phone and apps including banking information. Again, I'm not cynical, I'm a realist. I would encourage everyone to back up your phone thoroughly, then hand them a factory reset phone, afterwards, restore your phone to its previous settings. That is best practices when you have both private and confidential information.
No 'uBreakiFix' ever again.
Pass 'uBreakiFix' by. Chances are your phone will come back with more problems than brought you to them for a repair in the first place. Yes, they are that bad.
Went to "Jet City" for a proper fix after 'UbreakIFix' caused further damage and tried to get me to pay for it. Remember: The "Better Business Bureau' is your friend...
Nintendo Switch failed to work
Tried to get my Nintendo Switch to get fixed (Card reader) and my vent cover. Got back home with it, and turned it on, but the battery was dead, tried to charge it, NEVER CHARGED AT ALL, I haven't even touched that thing in a while I hope I can get it to work again somewhere else.
BEWARE!! Joel Scott (owner Ubreakifix Sarasota, FL) is a SCAMMER.
BEWARE!!! My experience with ubreakifix.
1) Called about laptop cleaning/repaste service due to fans being bit louder than usual. (Routine maintenance)
2) Bring fully functioning device in for service.
3) Received voicemail 2 days later stating "DiD yOu KnOw yOuR ScReEn iS bRoKeN"?
4) Upon receiving the device, it was no longer functional, and it was quickly determined ubreakifix has destroyed the laptop. The sales guy (low life drug head gauges in ears tattoo freakshow) suggests I falsely report the "broken screen" to Asurion insurance, and qoute "be very vauge about damages" in order to try to cover their ass on damging my device. (This was audio recorded in store). Should also note ubreakifix failed to even reconnect my laptop battery and lost 1 of the screws upon returning my device to me. (See picture)
5) I mail device to manufacturer for further repair (disgusted with ubreakifix), which determines ubreakifix has "bricked" my motherboard, causing over 2,000 dollars in damages.
6) The Asurion resolutions team, (slimey snake "Kris R.") puts me in contact with ubreakifix franchise store owner, "Joel Scott" to discuss "further inspection".
7) Owner Joel Scott, as expected, gave me a generic, bs response suggesting that the device was non-functioning before I brought it in. He even refuses to share surveillance video footage of the attempted repairs made to my device.
8) I have received my device back today (Jan. 2024) after "further inspection" at ubreakifix, in non-functional condition.
Beware of DISHONEST companies that prey on consumers, and refuse to admit liability when accidently damaging the customers property while attempting to repair.
This particular franchise location is corupt, beware of fake reviews and JOEL SCOTT, i would advise to use a corporate location at best for ubreakifix repairs, as Joel Scott is a crook, a liar, and a THIEF.
Very Bad Service
On 10/27/23, I took my wife's laptop in to be repaired as it would not boot up. I was informed that they were overloaded with repairs and would get back to me in a couple days. On 10/30, I had not received any type of notification and emailed the Kapolei store where the computer was dropped off at. I received a message from Matthew Kane, lead technician, who apologized for the delay, that he would check on it and get back to me. On 10/31/23. I again received no notification and e-mailed Matthew Kane directly. (FYI, I tried calling but their phone would not put a call through. I was on hold with the auto system, then it would hang up.) Matthew responded by saying he could see I brought the laptop in on 10/27/23 and that it had to be sent to the Depot Team and it would take 3-4 days for them to tear down the computer and troubleshoot the problem, however he had not been able to get ahold of a tech to confirm any status, but to rest assured he had it covered. I heard nothing more until 11/9/23.
On 11/9/23, I got an email from Jose, the Kapolei Team and a Voice Mail to contact him regarding the device. I called the number to the Kapolei store and asked for Jose. They said they would have to send him a message so he could call me back. When he called back, he again apologized for the long wait, but the laptop was going to have to be sent to the Mainland, (I live in Hawaii) as it appears to be a mother board problem. The mainland technician would repair the bad component and the price would be $299.00 and that since it had taken so long, they were waiving the labor. He said it takes at least a month, but he was going to send a message to attempt to expedite it. I agreed to the information, and he advised he would call me regularly to keep me updated. I waited and waited but never received any type of call.
Around Christmas, I tried again to contact the company and again was told they would have to check with the tech on the mainland, that they were extremely busy. I didnt receive any type of call until 1/2/24 and that was from a female with an extreme accent. I believe her name was Nadia. She left a message requesting a call back. I called back on 1/3/24 and the male who answered the call stated she was busy upfront and to hold until she could take the call. A few minutes later she came on and stated the Mainland tech advised that the component that wasn't working could not be replaced as they did not have the part and that a new mother board would have to be done. She said that it would now cost $399.00. I advised I would have to speak to my wife. I called that evening and advised her that the price was now too high and that we did not want the computer repaired and to have it sent back to the Kapolei store. I also requested a refund of the deposit of $82.00 be made per the store agreement. She said ok, but it would take a few days to get it back and that she would send a message when it came in. I agreed.
On January 11, this female called and stated that the mainland tech advised he would replace the mother board, now at the price of the $299.00. I called her back on 1/13/24, as I had to speak to my wife to determine if we wanted to get it fixed. I informed her that we had decided not to get the work done and again requested the laptop be returned and a refund issued. She stated that was it ok that she had already contacted the mainland tech and refused the service because I never called her back. She stated the laptop was being returned and should be back in her store by 1/16/24. On 1/17/24, she called leaving another voice message, that the laptop was back in her store and I could come pick it up. Later that same day I received a text message from Scott wanting to confirm that I had declined the $399.00 replacement of the mother board. I called in, getting Scott, and advised him that it had already be declined and that the laptop was already back in Hawaii. He said I know but want to know if I wanted to decline the repair. I again told him that I had declined it and it was ready for pick up by me. He said, Oh, ok. I told him that there seems to be some type of communication problem in their office. He stammered, then I said never mind, I will come in and pick it up. The laptop was picked up on 1/18/24 and a refund was issued.
I want to say that this has to be one of the worst experiences I have had with a business. Apparently, the woman with the accent is the owner. I felt that they were playing the shell game and fluctuating the payment to create confusion. They were never true to their words concerning call backs and hard to get hold of. The time involved, was unacceptable. I was extremely disgusted with the events and how it took from 10/27/23 to 1/19/24 to finish this transaction and be back at square one concerning the laptop. I will never recommend this company, UBREAKIFIX, or use Asurian insurance. Really a bad company. Stay away from them!!!!!
Fantastic!!!
I have used this company twice, and both times have been great! The service techs are very quick and there WAS NO CHARGE for their service.
Brought my phone to replace LCD and…
Brought my phone to replace LCD and they exchanged the inside components as well. 2 weeks later the microphone stopped working. They adjust and it worked for another 2 weeks than stopped. I brought i back and they told me everything worked and to reset the phone. Microphone still didn't work. I asked for a refund and they said no. They said to send it to Samsung under warranty. I paid $149 for nothing.
READ BEFORE YOU GO
READ BEFORE YOU GO
The main reason why I prefer UbreakIfix is because you can fix your phone and it will still be eligible for a trade in because they use preparatory parts. So I want to make a clear distinction. The company is NOT a problem.. Unfortunately great companies, without their knowledge, hire unprofessional and forgive me for saying this (inadequate staff/management). I would suggest still using UBreakIfix, but possibly taking the trip to another location.
I brought in my phone on December 22nd. Told them what kind of phone it was and what problem I was experiencing. Almost immediately was met with unnecessary sarchasm. His exact response was "Cool" After asking about pricing and I was told that a diagnostics test would be performed and I should expect a call, just in case they need to order parts, either by the end of day or the next day the 23rd.
I waited until the 26th ,No Call)
So I decided to call. Spoke to a lady ..she was polite, she apologized and informed me that the tech called out and that I should receive a call by the next day the latest.
Unfortunately I did not receive a call..
So I waited until Thursday to call Dec. 28th to call . Asked for an update and told them that I am still waiting a week for a diagnostics and was met with an extreme cavalier response suggesting that there is nothing that they can do about it. (His exact words were Im sorry YOU FEEL that way.) After confronting him about his response and reminding him that I'm still waiting for a diagnostics he ifinally admits that my phone still has yet to be TOUCHED.. and made a promise that it would be done at the end of day. I then ask how can you make a claim when you guys have to order parts.. He becomes unraveled and says " we have plenty of parts we might have it." And tells me a technician will call me by End of day.
Later that day I received a cal informing me that they need to order parts.
12 days Later I receive a call informing me that they have received the parts and are ready to start.
When I asked when it will be ready they refused to give a specific date.
Instead of calling they emailed me telling me it was ready. which btw they only had a record of my email because my girl used their services years ago. MEANING after it was completed they did NOT make an effort to call.
In Conclusion brought in the phone December 22nd..
Received my diagnostic 6 days later.
Took a TOTAL of 20 DAYS to complete
Every time I asked for an update was either met with scarshasm or was given responses that insinuated that I was inconveniencing them.
Outcome: Despite it taking 20 Days the phone was fixed.. Fortunately enough for me this was my back up phone that I travel with. So it didn't have an impact on my life. However. They were unaware of that. Taking 20 days with very little to no Communication is unacceptable. I would STRONLY recommend to still use UBREAKIFIX but to go to a different location. Completely unprofessional. Even if the commute inconveniences you. Do yourself the favor and USE a DIFFERENT location. that slight inconvenience potentially may save you DAYS if NOT WEEKS of your time.
worse experience
worse experience, will not recommend anyone to waste their time here.
Useless Guarantee
I used the University Drive Coral Springs, FL location.
Had my laptop “fixed” at this location in November. The one year guarantee they gave on the $212 repair is bogus because when I returned for the same reason weeks later they told me the guarantee is invalidated. They claim the palm rest was struck or something spilled on it which is causing the same issue I had originally. They offered a new part at a discount. If this business can just invalidate their one year repair warantees with any bogus statement, then their guarantees are useless.
Don’t use this place. They are unethical.
UBREAKIFIX IN SCARSDALE
UBREAKIFIX IN SCARSDALE, NY, ON CENTRAL PARK AVENUE, HAS A STAFF THAT IS POLITE, EFFICIENT AND HELPED ME OVERCOME A GALAXY PHONE ISSUE WITH A CONNECTIVITY PROBLEM. MALIK DID THE JOB AT THE SNAP OF HIS FINGERS BY PUSHING A FEW BUTTONS ON THE PHONE! BRAVO!,
Very bad experience
They took a brand-new Samsung Watch under warranty, still they asked 120$ to fix it but were even after 6 weeks they were not able to ... then they asked more money to fix it... I had to leave the watch with them and bought a new one for 200$. Very bad experience. Be careful.
Not Unhelpful at all
I had a problem with a gaming laptop and did not help at all.
Never take your phone here
The only reason I'm giving one star is that zero is not an option. I took my phone with a cracked screen to the Evansville Indiana location. They fixed it and it worked fine until it got wet. It never occurred to me to check their work. This was 7 months ago. After it got wet, the battery stopped holding a charge so I put it away and got a new phone. This weekend, I decided to put a new battery in myself since it's old. When I opened it up, I discovered two things: 1. They didn't put a new waterproof seal in. 2. They didn't put all the screws back in and one that they did use is nonstandard so I can't even get it out. It has to come out before the battery can be replaced.
If I wanted a haphazardly rigged fix, which this absolutely was, I'd have done myself the first time instead of paying nearly $300 for them to do it.
Never ever go here. I will certainly never darken their doorstep again.
