Stingy, unethical exploitation

I have little time for this awful company. They are a London company so don't expect much in the way of empathy or compassion from them. They are exploiting their shoppers. They see their shoppers are an infinite resource to be bled dry in a similar way to how miners used to think of coal. You are an abundant resource to this demeaning firm - a robot. To this company you are to be mined, until you are spent and used up. They don't care about your soul. You are merely another number to this dreadful company. You are exploited by this penny pinching company. When you are burned out, when they have finished chewing you up they simply spit you out and move onto the next person. They know that because they are a mystery shopping company and that people generally like shopping. They know they will always have a big supply of unwitting shoppers to use up. They take advantage of unemployment because they know people are desperate for work and money. This is what keeps awful companies like this in business. They have little moral or ethical concerns. To them you are merely a number, a figure. They don't see their shoppers as real human beings. They wring lots of work from you for virtually no money at all. People don't matter to this firm at all. This nasty company is a waste of space. I wouldn't give this dirty, unethical, stingy company the time of day.

Recovery

So I got my bank account details sorted, great customer support from Dee. Would have given 5 stars, but the bank account details requested on the website should be corrected, as it turned out it is BIC/ SWIFT not sort code needed. Will continue to carry on assignments for Them. Thanks!

Approach With Caution!

I have been a member for some years now, I get bombarded with email's about jobs offering "30p a mile to cover petrol costs if you take on the assignment" to be told when enquiring "the manager will not pay that mileage" Wasting my time and their time! I am disappointed in the way this company is turning out, it certainly does not pay well!

Hi Matthew,
I am sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction with Market Force. Mileage is only added to certain assignments. In particular, the ones that need completing urgently. We send out emails offering 30p per mile for that specific location only. Mileage is also always agreed with the coordinator prior to accepting an assignment, either by call or email. If you have any further questions or believe you are entitled to mileage for an assignment, please email europesupport@marketforce.com and address it to the ‘Completion Manager’.
Kind regards,
Market Force

Update on payment

The issue of my payment in which I wrote a very negative review has now been resolved. I received an email from Marketforce and also a phone call from the manager who had looked into the issue for me. The manager explained that I had keyed in wrong information which caused the payment to bounce back. I have now re-submitted my bank account details so that I can receive payment. I am very happy with how quickly my issue has been dealt with. It gives me confidence that Marketforce is a professional company which can be trusted.

They marketforce goods and services you wont pay for otherwise

I have been with Marketforce for 3 months and unlike other 8 companies that I shop with, their cafes and restaurant visits dont cover your costs, so it works more like a 80%-90% off the meals. that would be ok if the meals were of good quality but most often they're not. I went on a pub visit where the sunday roast was dry and to a high street cafe where they ran out of the sandwiches which I normally choose, so I had to take something I did not like and which was priced over this visit's reimbursement. It is also the only company which did not pay me for one of my visits - which it'd be ok with me if they did not pay my fee but they did not pay me for my food receipt as well. So I'd be very wary with them. It does look like they're promoting their clients' unsuccessful businesses at our expense.

Thank you for your feedback.
I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience and on behalf of our clients, I would like to apologise that you were not satisfied with the quality of the food. Your feedback is extremely important so that those brands can identify areas of improvement.
Also, please note, our reimbursement amounts are highlighted in the assignment notes prior to accepting a mystery shop however, I will ensure your comments are passed back to the team.

Avoid at all costs!

Waste of time, do not register yourself with this company. The pay is dreadful, they ask you to complete assignments which you do. You upload all the information they require and they do not pay you.

There was no issues with the information I uploaded, I visited the correct store and uploaded a picture as evidence to be told I would not receive payment.

Disgraceful website.

IGNORE THE REVIEWS

I have done 100's of assignments for Marketforce and have never had any problems. Yes they pay you not a lot but the idea is that you are doing jobs in places you are already visiting and are NOT making a special journey to do the job and on the subject of reports being bounced back I have never had this problem and to be honest you have to be a complete idiot for this to happen as the report process is fairly simple.

Don't know why the bad reviews! !! Really good company

I've been Working for Retaileyes as they were formerly Known and now Marketforce for about 10 years and never had any issues. As far as I can tell, in order not to get paid then people mustn't be following the guidelines- I've never not been paid. I get the jobs done to the spec and send in a report and photos, how hard can that be? ! Fair enough it's not alot of pay but then none of the companies I work for offer mega money so I only do jobs if I'm in an area and want a free meal/hotel stay/visit to a retail store etc. As mentioned before by someone else, the more points you have the better the jobs you're offered so you have to do small jobs to start with. Fine by me if you don't want to do them though-more for me! ;-)

Worst paying mystery shopping company

I have been with market force for around 10 years but very rarely do any work for them due to their poor pay rates which do not fairly reimburse for the time and effort required to do the shops. Many mystery shopping companies now pay a minimum of £10, some are even £25, but the average is around £15 and I will not work for less than £10. Twice I have filled in their online surveys asking how we feel about the work and the pay rates, but yet still the same poor pay rates..Recently I completed a job for an opticians for £10 but only because I needed an eye test and new specs

Low fees and useless coordinators.

I work for several mystery shopping companies and it is interesting to see that the bad jobs always end up at Market Force with severely reduced fees.

Why on earth would anyone want to eat at a pizza restaurant and pay more than you if you used a freely available 2 for 1 voucher! And have to write a review in to the bargain!

Aldi used to pay £8.50 plus travel expenses for a relatively straightforward job with no queries at another company. MarketForce rate - £2 plus up to £2 reimbursement.

Stella Artois used to pay £5 plus reimbursement plus travel at another company with no restrictions on time or requirement to drink the product. MarketForce rate -£3.50 plus up to £5 reimbursement.

They really do scrape the barrel and often restaurants and sandwich shops will cost you money to perform.

I have accepted jobs on their site only to be told I must contact a coordinator Monday to Friday when it is a Saturday!

Coordinators do not reply to messages!

Very unprofessional.

Ignore the bad reviews

I've had a couple of problems with this company but only as much as spelling/puntuation queries. Most of the reviews are saying 'you don't get paid enough' - well then don't sign up.

The assignments get better and better as you complete more and build up your points score. Once this is built up, you become a 'trusted' reviewer, which means that better assignments come up.

Nothing wrong with the company as far as I'm concerned.

This company has gone downhill!! I would not recommend anyone bother with them

I have completed many assignments for this company over recent years. The money has never been great but was fairly enjoyable. After a short break I've returned to find that the quality of jobs has gone down considerably as has the sum that Marketforce pays you. All of the allowances have dropped from the already pitiful sums. For example to earn a fee of £4 they expect approx 4 hours of detailed work and out of the £4 you have to pay your own travel expenses. One of the most frustrating developments is that now matter how carefully you write the reports, the proofreader find an excuse to reject them and bounce them back. This is usually asking you to reword something that already answers the question asked. The boundaries of what is expected change and sometimes ask for obscure details that weren't even requested in the questionnaire. I have a feeling they are paid for spotting mistakes so just look for any reason to bounce the report back. I don't trust this company and I would advise anyone thinking of working for them to keep looking for a more professional company.

Don't waste your time with these people!

They weasel out of paying you for any reason they can find, report was ten minutes late, receipt had a crease in it, apparently referring to a shop assistant as impolite and unhelpful is insulting and therefore they don't have to pay you. They'll try their best to not pay you so don't even bother

Stay away

If you want to be working for very little money this is the company for you, I worked for Marketforce on and off for 5 years now, They pay you £2fee and £2 reimbursement for visiting Aldi, so what you need to work out how far is the Aldi from you and is it worth your time and fuel costs to get there?.
Once completed the report will go off to proof reading, who if it’s bad will sent it back to you, asking for more information here is an example “ I said an Aldi I just did, did not do the greeting or adjust the speed when there was a visible queue” I got return asking for more information and how I knew they had not adjusted the speed??, the proof readers try and turn your true and honest view of the service into something the client wants!.

Also don’t forgot you need to give them your phone number they say in case they need to contact you regarding results, real reason its so they can bombbarred you when a job in the area needs doing, remember its them that has taken the work from the said company, not you so if you don’t want to do it, tell them NO and hang the phone up, and when they call again just don’t pick up. They don’t get the message like I had 13 calls in one day.. I actually blocked their number thank god the Samsung has that feature, then got an email saying my number is invalided lol, no its not just your blocked haha.

Scam Alert!! MarketForce AKA Certified Field Associates AKA CastForce

Avoid this company, they make nearly impossible to get paid, you have to wait OVER a month to get paid. They will constantly return you work submissions and they will do so near payday, as not to pay you by payday and make you wait a whole new month after correcting the issue. They are a close to a SCAM as they come!

That's why they constantly use other Names ( MarketForce AKA Certified Field Associates AKA CastForce), cause people are getting wise to them so they have to use other names.

Very poor Rates!

The work is Okay from Cheap Brand Supermarkets to Whitbread pubs, But you won’t become rich any time soon, They pay you a Reimbursement which sometimes won’t cover the cost of the meal they want you to buy, They claim that the £2 fee for the cheap supermarket is okay then why in Ireland does the same company offer £5? And they charge Aldi £20 per visit!! When its you the shopper that does all the work, they just sit in Milton Keynes and put jobs online and summit the report. The proof readers don’t have a clue what they are doing, they sent a query on one job I did I sent the same answer back and wow it was accepted!. Some staff are nice, and some staff are up their own arses, depends who you speak to, The best one I have spoken too Is Siobhan Gallie who does Aldi among others she is always friendly and helpful.

Had no problems

I've been doing assignments for Marketforce for a few months now and haven't had any problems. They pay promptly twice a month. Occasionally they query something really simple which is annoying but not a big deal.

Reporting is a bit tedious with their system but I've used worse.

You get a good variety of assignments and they don't harass you to take them. I don't do a great deal, just the odd one here and there if I'm going to be in the area, so it's some good freebies and a little extra money in the bank.

I wouldn't expect to make a career out of it, but it gets me out and about and the assignments are usually quite open to being able to take other people or kids which is nice.

Not to be trusted

I used to do assignment for this company for almost a year now. But I found out they give themselves the right to remove payments from your account time-to-time. Recently they just removed 2 payments of my assignment claiming I didn't follow the instructions. The funny part is they confirmed the payment and gave me full score for it, it is just all of a sudden after a week they contacted me and saying they are not going to pay me! They are totally scam as they even don't honour their terms and conditions! Beware if you are going to do anything for them to make them richer...

friendly staff and prompt payment

I found the company quite fair, they always pay on time and there are lots of different assignments. The customer service is very good, staff is friendly and solve problems really quickly.
They pay every two weeks. the questionnaires are nicely structured and easy to complete but sometimes lengthy. They process the questionnaire usually within 24hours so you get paid in the next payment round. I really like that staff dont bother with phone calls and dont harass mistery shoppers.
if you have any questions you can always call the coordinator and they solve the problem/answer queires very quickly.

Big minus is that the fees are low, usually you get reimbursement so your expenses are paid but you wont earn anything. you get a lot of freebies though.

Poor pay rates/slow reporting "accordian" system

The pay rates are the lowest of six companies I do work for. Lots of the worthwhile
visits no longer appear eg Hotel stays so unless you like fast food especially at
airports/railway stations, or betting shops or a £2 fee for a budget supermarket there
is little to commend it. They also have the slowest, most tedious reporting system,
why on earth anyone thought the "accordion" was a good idea escapes me. Worst
of all the proof readers at times at times seem to have little or no understanding
of the questions asked and an inability to read the answers correctly. If challenged
they invariably back down, I find that sending them an e-mail inviting them to explain
which bit of my answer they did not understand usually results in the assignment
being suddenly cleared for payment. On a positive note I find the Managers who
look after projects to be very friendly, helpful and competent.
