We still haven’t received the part we ordered. It was due for delivery on Friday and the tracking said it was 2 stops away at 12 noon. Only for the parcel to never be delivered with a notification in the evening to say the courier was unable to gain access to deliver which is absolutely ridiculous as we are open until 10pm. Extremely disappointed

A really easy experience. Ordered for collection on Monday evening from the local branch and it was there on Tuesday morning when I needed it the following morning.

My delivery address is a mail box account to avoid the need for my attendance when accepting goods. They provide a professional service and I thought I remembered informing them of the planned returns collection not long after I received the duplicate delivery. Following my call to you I e-mailed my contact and here below is my outgoing message and the reply in chronological order.
I also sent a complaint about the fact that contacting RS numerous times by phone about this failed delivery has cost me £50.00 + in premium phone calls. And I learned this after my call to you which added another £10.00 + at around £1.00 per minute. There is NO warning about these extortionist costs, and as every call after the first order placement was as a consequence of RS error I have paid more in calls for these correction errors than for the goods.
With this one small order I do not think it possible to make more mistakes than RS have made. Please confirm my account status is reinstated.

I have spoken to my colleague in our accounts department, she has advised, once the original goods have been received and processed within RS, a credit will be raised and this will counteract the invoice as the invoice has been raised on your account. My colleague has put a note on your account to ensure you do not receive any further ‘Final notice’ emails or letters as this was not your fault and not something you should worry about.

Yet again the parcel was lost and not delivered. So far this year RS has over a 90% fail rate for service and delivery. Having both phoned and Emailed complaints reguarding the poor service No One has come back to me. This service has been getting worse for the last 3 years and back then I was assured it would not happen again on several occations. It is now nearly every order this is a disgrace and RS does not seem to be interested in correcting it. The packageing comes open, and some times parts missing or damaged, yes you are replaceing them at further delays which cost us money and RS don't think of it other than proffit. I know I am not the only one complaining yet you are doing nothing to improve it. I have been dealing with RS for over 35 years and it was never as bad as this is!!

I run a company producing lighting upgrades for vintage and classic cars and use a soldering iron every day. I have bought Weller 201 units from RS for over 20 years. When one failed recently, I ordered 2 new heating elements from RS. One turned up after a few days. The other is still not here after 2 weeks. I fitted the element and something was wrong. The whole metal of the soldering was red hot. I Googled this and was told that a temp sensor was not working as it should automatically regulate the temperature. I bought another soldering iron to tide me over. Today, I tried to get some help from RS and first of all encountered a useless chatbot, that asked me questions, ignored the answers and then asked me if there was anything else it could do to help. Then I got transferred to a human who couldn't tell me whether the part was wrong or faulty or what to do next. I was told to wait for an email and I still am.

Poor communication
Purchase an item from RS components, after a week I hadn't heard anything so I got in touch. I was told the item was out of stock but would restocked next week, I was happy to wait. The date provided came and went and I still hadn't heard anything so I got in touch again. They told me it hasn't been delivered and wouldn't be restock for over a month now. I was offered an alternative which I accepted but was then told they couldn't process it so they would have to cancel the order and I'd then have to pay the difference.
I wouldn't have left a bad review if it weren't for the fact that at no point in this whole process had they reached out to me. I had to chase every single time, really poor communication and customer service. Wouldn't purchase here again.

I have recently had bad service from your establishment with the delivery of products ordered , the delivery was attempted at 19:30 in the evening and then sent back without any second attempt . Obviously I was not there at this time and have now stopped using your services .

I’ve used RS many times over the years, they stock a great range of everything you could ever want, many items have multiple options of quality & price, must items are in stock ready for next day delivery. This time I only needed a plastic enclosure with a clear lid, good quality and no more expensive than other suppliers.
Well worth the wait!
Bought beard nets online; best quality nets I've tried - very strong and effective. Would have been 5* but for the relatively long delivery time and salty postage cost.

I've been a customer of RS since the 70's. Always been very happy with the quality of their products and speed of delivery. Strongly recommend anyone serious about electronics would do well to open an account with them!
DHL nightmare
The issue was the courier DHL and possibly RS.
Order 3017230313 was collected @ 16:15 31st March
Order 3017317233 was collected @ 22:27 7th April Both orders were expected to be with me the following day, but both were delayed and didn't make it to the local depot.
I traveled to the depot on both occasions as I could not speak to anyone at DHL, I called RS regarding the first order as after I agreed with the depot to collect the parcel but I later received a message saying it would be delivered in 7 days!!!
Both orders were time critical and I placed my order with RS as I always received my orders next day and have come to rely on this. DHL were a nightmare to deal with, the only route other than travelling to the depot (which I did twice at a time when fuel was scarce and expensive) was to wait for someone from DHL to get in contact via WhatsApp, this took around 24 hours, which is no good when I have customers wanting updates.

Misleading returns statement
I think it is misleading to say there is a returns policy of 30 days 'Don't worry, whatever the reason, we're happy to arrange the return of your products within 30 days of you receiving them' - but when you try to return items, it is not possible to return some of them
