DO NOT USE UKRCR!!!

DO NOT USE UKRCR!

They seem great and fast at communicating when they’re trying to get you to move in. Once you’re in and the flat stinks of cigarettes, there’s mouldy food left in the fridge, you have loudly curtains left in your wardrobe, keys don’t work and your flat is in a disgusting dirty state, they will par you off. Communication gets bounced around, they attest everything you say, with no resolution.

I moved in on the 5th of May and have spent countless hours going back and forth with Dee (useless) about what is or isn’t happening with the property. Communication is poor at best, you get passed on to different teams when someone gets fed up of emailing you. There’s no accountability or responsibility and I would never recommend using them.

Such an unfortunate way for tenants to be treated given how great they seemed initially! We asked for compensation from them for all of the issues and paid rent on time… they had the nerve to tell us we hadn’t paid and were in arrears, absolutely ridiculous.

UKRCR have incredibly poor standards…

UKRCR have incredibly poor standards and they lack any integrity. Often say they'll fix an issue but it takes weeks if not months for it to be resolved. Had cold water for weeks!

Their website lies where they say rooms come fully furnished - took them so long to sort a desk for my room when they said it'd be ready for me when I moved in! The person on their support email is so unhelpful.

Very, very frustrating

Impossible to get in touch with. Issues are ignored even after repeatedly being brought forward. WiFi has been cut off despite the property being advertised as having it included. Very frustrating experience.

Misleading Information, Poor Maintenance, and Lack of Basic Services

Before moving in, I specifically asked about the heating situation and was assured by the agent that a proper heating system was installed in the room. However, upon arrival, there was no such provision. I had to purchase my own electric heater and rely entirely on it throughout the peak winter months, which was both inconvenient and an added expense.

I was also informed that the room would be cleaned prior to my move-in date. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and I had to clean the room myself upon arrival.

More recently, our WiFi — which is included in the rent and part of the utilities we pay for — suddenly stopped working. After contacting the service provider, we discovered that the agency had failed to renew the contract, resulting in the service being suspended. It has now been over a week, and we have had to rely on our personal data plans, which is both unfair and avoidable.

What is most disappointing is the lack of promptness and accountability in addressing these issues. Despite multiple follow-ups, there has been little to no effective response or resolution. These are basic facilities that tenants should not have to struggle for.

Overall, this experience has been frustrating due to misleading information, poor upkeep, and inadequate management response.

Ukrcr sucks

Agents - really lovely. Responsive on WhatsApp.

Service/support - awful. When I first moved in, it took months to sort out issues despite constant emails to them.

-Some emails I never received replies to, others I had responses confirming things were being sorted but they weren’t!

-WiFi (despite being included in the contract) wasn’t setup for 2 months. I was advised this was a ‘complementary’ service being provided, so I shouldn’t complain about it taking ages? It says included in the contract!
- One of the rooms in my flat they’re renting out doesn’t even meet legal renting standards.
- when I first moved in, they hadn’t cleaned the property and my fridge was mouldy. They sent a cleaner one month after I flagged this (obviously I had cleaned it myself by then)
- until the May legislation comes into affect, they make you pay X amount of months up front to compensate for no deposit. Eg earn below a threshold salary then they ask for 3+ months rent upfront (the ‘low deposit’ for ‘remove moving to London difficulty’ spiel they have going on is BS)

Conclusion? If you want somewhere quick and easy to move into, ukrcr are great. If you also want it to be a well managed property and get your problems sorted within a reasonable time frame? Stay as far away from them as possible.

Typical Incompetence

Issues are repeatedly ignored/take way too long to fix. We had a broken washing machine for 3 months with emails going unread. They suddenly stopped providing us WiFi, without notice, despite the fact we pay them for it! General typical landlord incompetence.
