I honestly had the BEST time!
I honestly had the BEST time!! Staff at rest stops were amazing and the lady I spoke with at registration was so friendly and helpful when I told her this was my first ultra- I managed to see her at the end for a hug!
Great customer service
I received great customer support today (from Dan), who could not have been more helpful.
Quick responses, polite interactions and a resolution - I'm a very happy customer.
I’m genuinely disappointed to be…
I’m genuinely disappointed to be writing this review, but I believe constructive feedback is necessary for change especially when a brand otherwise offers something meaningful.
I reached out to customer support to inquire about purchasing a one-off gift voucher as a surprise for someone (it would mean so very much to them on an important birthday). I was told that while they had trialed gift vouchers in the past, they were discontinued due to low popularity. I asked if an exception could be made, explaining the situation and the significance of the gift. The response? A flat and rather curt “sorry no.”
When I politely suggested that it might be helpful in future to explain why something isn’t possible, especially when someone is excited and hopeful about a purchase, I was met with an even more rigid reply: “If I do this for you, I have to do it for everyone.”
That statement struck me as the opposite of good customer service. It reinforced the sense that their policies are inflexible to the point of being robotic leaving no space for thoughtful, human-centered exceptions. From what I’ve seen in other reviews not just on TurstPilot this kind of dismissive customer support via email seems to be a recurring issue.
I fully understand the need for structure and policy. But strong customer service means balancing those with empathy and discernment especially when a customer is making a reasonable request that costs nothing but a little extra care. A gift voucher is a small ask, but the opportunity to create a meaningful moment was completely missed.
I value what this company does, which makes it even more disheartening that their support experience eroded my trust. It’s a reminder that no matter how good the events are, the way they treat people in moments like this really matters.
This was a small ask that could have made a big impact and it’s a shame the company didn’t see the value in that.
Brilliantly organised
Brilliantly organised. A very buzzy atmosphere. A genuine challenge in a beautiful setting.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Very friendly and helpful staff. Event well organised.
Lots of food at rest stops and finish line. Course mapped out really well. As a solo walker I didnt worry about going the wrong way.
Trek masters were life savers supporting those who may need help and encouragement. I wouldn't have finished without one. Great massage at finish line.
Will definitely do another event again.
Awesome events
Have always enjoyed these events and have done 14 x 100km, admittedly not all with Action Challenge but they are far and away the best organised and friendliest staff. The facilities are brilliant and the food is as good as you can get.
If you are thinking of joining your first event, don’t worry about the one star ratings, illness is unfortunately part of life and a chance you take. Don’t think anymore, sign up and challenge yourself to a wonderful experience. Just make sure you train well and get the maximum out of it.
Beautiful Bakewell challenging…
Had a really memorable time challenging myself on the beautiful Peak District! Did a 100k of undulating trails and every step was well signed! Super food and a lovely friendly atmosphere, despite my aches and blisters I am considering doing one again - elsewhere in 2026. Would recommend anyone to give it a go - you don’t know how far you can push yourself and being a solo walker I made friends along the way, so don’t fret about being alone… majority of folk were single walkers!
Did London 2 Brighton my first 100km…
Did London 2 Brighton my first 100km and Peak District afterwards. I had great time even I finished with small foot injury, medical staff was great. Just one small thing, after crossing finish line you offering glass of bubbles, I personally don't drink perhaps in future some nice cold 0 alcohol beer? Just suggestion.
Another Great Ultra Event
Their ultra events are always fantastic, very well organised with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. A great way to start your ultra run ning journey. I highly highly recommend the company and their events.
The Cotswolds Ultra Challenge was epic
The Cotswolds Ultra Challenge was epic. Epic challenge, epic course, epic hills, epic organisation, epic scenery, epic rest stops, epic to finish. Highly recommend
Couldnt fault the event organisation
Couldnt fault the event organisation. Polite and friendly staff, fantastic signage, well thought out check points and decent food offerings. They’ve really thought of everything and make a tough challenge just that little bit easier.
Cotswold Challenge - What a great first impression!
This was my first Ultra, in training for a charity event later this year. I have had no experience of these events previously but my walking partner has. I was suitably impressed by the whole experience and, in particular, the amount of support given by the organisers. Their attention to detail in managing the event, the helpful staff and trail markers helped make the whole day extremely enjoyable and rewarding. My fellow walker, who has literally done too many events to name, but including the MDS, says it's one of the best-run events she has experienced. There probably isn't better testimony than that!

Had great fun, easy to follow . Friendly staff. Plenty of snacks and water . Highly recommend.
A great experience & great organising team
A great experience doing the Isle of Wight challenge in May! I thought the aid stations, the route and the event centre were done excellently. All volunteers were so friendly and helpful - and Dan was very flexible in helping me out with getting a tent slot (even though I was accidentally well past closure date...!). Big thanks to the team!

I just wanted to say a huge 'Thank You'.
I completed the London to Brighton 100km 2day and the organisation was fantastic and the support from the event staff was amazing. In particular I would like to thank the medics, the massage really helped and Michelle for her help and support when I really need it!
London2Brighton 75km challenge
I ran the London2Brighton 3/4 challenge (75km). My review is a tale of two halves because the pre-race preparation is pretty terrible but the race itself is very well managed. As the majority of people run the 100km, the race info almost exclusively caters for that distance. Be prepared to calculate all your own distances. I emailed to ask for a 75km GPX file but didn’t get a response so I edited my own. Worth noting that the GPX file is not very accurate, but the course is incredibly well signposted so there’s nothing to worry about. The app with all the pre-race info is garbage. Hard to find the info you need and the documents don’t all agree with each other.
At the race, two people I spoke to had lost their bags as the bag drop info was wrong - at 25km you needed to transfer your own bag, but the person accepting bags said you didn’t have to. That was rough for finishers as they were freezing and had to navigate the admin and time of locating their bags, with a very rude staff member in Brighton. At race start you’ll get a lanyard with a qr code which has to be scanned at every point for your time. The system isn’t very accurate as people aren’t always in post to scan so I occasionally went looking for them. The final results are more to do with where in the QR code queue you stood, rather than when you crossed a barrier. That doesn’t bother me, but worth knowing. The aid stations were great - everything you need and loads of toilets. The course is beautiful and varied. I ran 78.3km rather than 75km, probably 1km was my own fault as I got a little lost in a field, having missed a marker. Overall it was a great experience and I do recommend it. Just don’t expect customer service.
I was unable to attend the event due to…
I was unable to attend the event due to a medical emergency that occurred the evening before. I was prepared to provide medical documentation to prove my situation and was willing to pay the £50 defer fee to participate in a different event this year. However, I was informed that this request could not be accommodated due to their T&C's.
Having participated in your event five years ago, where my friend and I successfully raised over £2500, I had high expectations of this company's understanding and support in unforeseen circumstances. It is disheartening to feel that the focus is more on financial gain rather than supporting participants who genuinely wish to contribute to your cause.

Brilliant
The entire team that support us on these events are fabulous, including the admin side. Very approachable and helpful.
I love these events and recommend to anyone and everyone!
Ultrachallenge Bath 50
I have just completed the 29k option of the Bath 50 which was my 73rd ultrachallenge event since I began in 2015. As always, the organisation was first class. Coffee and biscuits were provided at the start line, and there were two rest stops along the route with drinks, pastries, fruit and energy bars, before an amazing two course hot meal at the end.
The Bath 50 was a new event in the ultrachallenge calendar and it was a beautiful walk, mostly on rural paths but also taking us through the city. It is almost impossible to get lost as the routes are always well signposted, whilst there are marshals at key points. There is a warm welcome at the finish line where participants receive a great medal and souvenir tee shirt. I can't praise ultrachallenge highly enough and am already looking forward to my next event!
Bath Ultra challenge
It was a challenging route as Bath is very hilly. However, cannot fault the organisation and venue. Very well signposted along the way and lots to see as well. Amazing views! Rest stops had plenty of snacks and drinks (apart from stop 3 which was a bit depleted), great lunch. Amazing food post race as well. Organisation overall was so good I’m mentioning again - fantastic
