BUYER BEWARE

Had an issue with my truck and took it to a GMC dealer. They told me what the issue was and I contacted United Car Care. They sent a 3rd party adjusted to look at my truck. GMC called and said that United Car Care rejected my claim becuase of "dirt and debris" which is excluded from my warranty. Now I am out $1550 to get my vehicle fixed, have a completely useless $4500 warranty through this joke of a company, and feel screwed. So I would recommend avoiding this company becuase they will take your money and think long and hard, they can deny everything becuase vehicles get dirty driving down the road. I do not take my vehicle off road and stay on paved roads 98% of the time, so this can happen to you as well. Buyer beware!

Update - Response to Owner: There was an issue with my car, not caused by me and you will not cover. You refuse (deny) and GMC refuses to pay, so I am left paying. I purchased an extended warranty and you chose to deny the claim, your reasoining is a lame excuse. We dont have to worry about any of this any longer becuase I have gone to the dealer last week and canceled my policy. I am just bummed I paid the small amount that I paid.

Hi Kenneth,
Thank you for your somewhat honest, if rather puzzling feedback. To clarify this situation, we did not deny your claim - and nor have we ever denied any claim - due to the vehicle's exterior being dirty. Frankly, we couldn't care less whether your vehicle's exterior is dirty or clean and, similarly, we do not deny claims due to the exterior of internal components being dirty. Your claim was denied because there was dirt and debris INSIDE the fuel tank's vent tubes, and to be very specific, the vent tubes are meant to vent fumes out of the fuel tank, NOT draw in air, so nothing should be going into or clogging these tubes. As our adjuster explained to you, the reason this component is not covered by your contract is because this failure is a manufacturer defect, meaning that GM, your vehicle's manufacturer, needs to issue a recall to address the problem; these components are not working as GM intended. As for the $1,550 you paid out, we suggest contacting GM for reimbursement - again, this failure is common with this specific GM part and needs to be addressed by GM.

Update - 7/20/22 Response to Reviewer: It is unfortunate that GM is not covering the cost of repairs for a component that they know is failing (they issued a TSB (technical service bulletin) highlighting the fact that many owners of the same model vehicle were experiencing the exact failure that occurred in your vehicle); however, that particular repair was not, at any point, included for coverage under your policy with us. Moreover, we are not responsible for GM's mistakes. Again, GM is well aware of the problem and they need to issue a recall to fix their mistake.

Smooth with no denials

The best part of my experience, was no delays in getting my car repaired. I just had the $100 deductible and that was it. Very smooth transaction. Nothing denied. All approved!

Happy with this transaction

Happy with this transaction. The transmission valve body went out on my 2018 F150. United Car Care covered the replacement minus the $250 co-pay.

No complaints.

So last June United Car Care replaced…

So last June United Car Care replaced my transmission with myself only having to pay the deductible which was great. However, this past weekend my transmission started bouncing in and out of gear while trying to accelerate. I took it back to the same place that did the repair initially and, due to mileage exceeding the contract amount-though we only have been driving it around town- there is no warranty on the transmission United provided. I do not know where they received the aftermarket transmission but it did not even last a year before failing. Had I known this was going to be the end result, I would have just paid for a new transmission first and not even deal with United Car Care.

UPDATE: The mechanic did reach out to try to talk with someone and they were told that unfortunately you were unable to help.

"Hi Kris,
We have to admit that we're a little confused by your review. We spoke to you on 5/2 and indicated that we needed to hear from your mechanic to go over the repair, but we never heard from anyone else. Right now, we have no confirmation of your vehicle's current mileage or the failures you're experiencing. We have not denied your claim, as we have not had the opportunity to review this information, so we encourage you to have your mechanic contact us."

Update: Hi Kris,
We have not heard from anyone regarding this claim other than you on 5/2. Again, we encourage you to have your mechanic contact our claims department so that we can review.

Recently non factory warranty work

Recently I. needed some repairs on my 2017 Ram Pickup that was not covered under my factory warranty. Thankfully my additional United Car Care covered it 100% with zero hassles , deductible or delay. Fantastic coverage and I will continue with United for all my future vehicle warranty needs.

Was happy I purchased a warranty

Was happy I purchased a warranty, but it took 2 days for the inspector to show up to evaluate the car and then another day to approve. I did not have my car for 5 days. Hourly rates maximum are below industry standards and need to be updated.

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!

My car has been in the repair show for 14 days as of today awaiting approval from United Car Care to be fixed. I have been without a car this entire time. No rental! I've called numerous times and was told they would call back and neither I nor the repair shop has heard from them. My warranty expires in less than two weeks. I truly feel like if that wasn't the case I would be treated much better than this! PLUS, my car was in the repair shop earlier this month for the same issue, they made me wait 15 days for a USED part to arrive. I had a rental car for 12 days and they would only cover 7, saying that was the max. My car was in the repair shop that long because it took them that long to approve and find the part, then have it shipped!!! Not my fault! They refused the new part that the repair shop could get in 24 hours. Now that USED part was bad and I'm back in the this same cycle. Calling the supervisor is proving to be a joke as he will not return my call. I am at a loss and don't know what else I can do at this point. This is beyond unacceptable!

Great to have a CarShield Plan!

It has been a long process. The check engine light came on in August of 2021. Unfortunately due to supply chain issues and the like it has been a longer than normal process. That said I am extremely glad I have a CarShield plan. It has been determined the engine needs to be replaced. For the $100 deductible I get a new engine. Of course due to the state of things that will take longer than normal, not CarShields fault. My 2012 Grand Cherokee has just under 85k miles. Never thought the engine would ever need replacing. I was very wrong and again extremely glad I have a CarShield plan. I highly recommend getting a CarShield plan
I bought my Jeep used and even bought the extended warranty from the dealer which I canceled when I checked out the plan from CarShield.which was a superior plan.

One of the most painless phone calls I have ever had to make. I am a service advisor and I make these calls daily, by far this was one of the best most easiest experiences I have ever had. I summited the claim for payment and had a rep call and pay literally 2 seconds after emailing.
