Really bad experience, paid twice

Really had bad experience with UPS, i initiate request online to send parcel and guy come to collect parcel on 3rd day, then there was different updates on tracking delivery of delayed and it keeps changing every day, most worst thing when package to deliver they ask another payment for delivery, so i had to pay twice for one package, i kept ringing them about issue they never answered.

Absolutely horrendous service

Absolutely horrendous service. I would give zero stars if possible one is too generous. Delivery date changed multiple times on the day due. Now told it'll arrive Friday I don't believe them. It's a special gift I need on Saturday. The virtual assistant is no help whatsoever. Communication is terrible. Never again will I buy from a company that uses them, An Post is better.

No attempts to deliver, no communication, no customer service.

Multiple “attempts” to deliver my package were made while I was home, but neither my doorbell nor phone was rang, no delivery timeframe had been communicated to me, and no “InfoNotice” had been left meaning that I couldn’t possibly know that these delivery “attempts” were even being made.

My package has now been stuck in a warehouse for the last six days and scanned four times, but my four emails requesting support on this matter remain unanswered.

I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with this exact situation multiple times and would genuinely pay double for delivery if it meant that my packages would never be handled by UPS.

Extremely disappointed with UPS

Extremely disappointed with UPS. This isn’t the first time their driver has failed to deliver my packages correctly, even after being told multiple times to leave them in the clearly marked parcel container. Once again, the driver ignored this and left my package on the ground. My dog got to it and destroyed the contents—a children’s Christmas gift I now have to replace. This was completely avoidable. The repeated lack of care, attention, and respect for delivery instructions is unacceptable. I’m tired of dealing with the same issue over and over with no improvement.

NEVER use UPS parcel service!

I have had an absolutely terrible experience with UPS, and I feel compelled to warn others before they end up in the same situation...
I purchased the largest pre-paid UPS shipping label available online—rated for up to 20 kg—for a large return package. I printed the label, brought the package to my local drop-off point, and they scanned it with no issues. Pickup was supposed to happen the next morning.

On the day of pickup, UPS charged my bank card an extra €160 without my authorization! I do not have a UPS account, and at no point did I authorize any additional charges beyond the label I had already purchased. This was not in the terms I agreed to. If they felt the package required a surcharge—though it did not exceed the size or weight—then the correct procedure would have been to contact me before picking it up, or leave the parcel behind until they could reach me. They did neither.

Their justification was also incorrect: the driver measured only the longest and widest points of an irregularly shaped package and treated the entire parcel as if it filled that volume, which is completely unreasonable. But regardless of shape, nothing justifies taking money from a customer’s card without consent.

My package was collected on September 19 and UPS charged my card the extra €160 that same day. They only sent me the invoice for this surcharge weeks later—after the money had already been taken. In total, they attempted to charge me €215 for a return package I had already paid to send.

I immediately contacted UPS and opened a ticket to dispute the charge. For three weeks, they did not respond. No updates. No communication, nothing. Finally I received in the post the end of October, they issued a credit note for the surcharge. I waited for the refund to reach my bank for weeks… only to discover that UPS refunded the original postage cost instead of the surcharge! Which was only 55 euro... Completely unacceptable
I opened yet another ticket, and as of 18 November, I still have not received my money back or any explanation or communication.

To make matters even worse, when you try to contact UPS by phone about anything—including charges they have wrongly imposed—they charge 4.2 cents per minute plus VAT just to speak to their customer service team. So not only do they take unauthorized payments, but they also make you pay a tariff to try to fix their mistakes.

I also contacted my bank to see if I could contest the charges. They told me I had to go to UPS first. They also said the only way to prevent further unauthorized charges would be to freeze my card entirely, but by then the charges had already gone through. The most shocking part: the bank informed me the UPS charge was processed as a subscription payment. I never agreed to any subscription, recurring payment, or stored card authorization of any kind. Classifying a one-off shipping label purchase as a subscription to push additional charges through is deplorable, unethical, and potentially illegal.

UPS customer service is genuinely shocking. Their practices feel predatory. They quietly surcharge customers, rely on them not noticing, make it extremely difficult to get refunds, and classify unauthorized payments as “subscriptions” to force them through. And if you do challenge them, expect months of waiting—if you ever see your money again.

I will never use UPS again, and I strongly advise others to avoid them unless they enjoy being overcharged, ignored, and left chasing their own money.
UPDATE: Apart from the reply to this review I have had no further communication from UPS Ireland
BUT the remainder of the promised refund has arrived in our bank account, so that's a huge relief! Finally!

UPS deliver V bad service

UPS deliver V bad service. Driver doesn’t knock on door just left parcel at the door in the public eye. Customer service no help either as no one was home at time of delivery. I was on to a customer service provider called Sarah and all she could say to me was “What do you want me to do, he is no longer in the area”. Parcel could easily be lifted from my garden and also have it all on my ring door bell.

Awful experience with UPS Ireland

I had a parcel expected to be delivered last Friday. I stayed at home so I could receive the package, the main door to the apartment block was open all day. Then I get a notification around 1pm, saying they tried to deliver it at 12:15pm. No phone call, and the door was open all day…after this happened I changed the delivery address to my workplace because there is a person there 24/7 and could receive it on my behalf. I sent the request on Friday at 1:09pm and I still haven’t got a new delivery date. Tried calling twice yesterday and was told I should get a new date within 24 hours on the first business day after the weekend since I sent the delivery change request on Friday. Communication is terrible, my parcel was urgent and I had no idea UPS was this bad. At this point I don’t know what else to do, I asked could I get it dropped off to a collection point and the operator told me they don’t know where the package is. I’m very disappointed with UPS, will try to avoid them from now on.

Sent a parcel to Canada with UPS/excess fees

Sent a parcel to Canada with UPS. Delivery and timing were perfect.
My complaint is that on the day of delivery I received 3 texts one minute apart stating I need to pay further charges or they would add additional fees at the destination door. No invoice, no mention what these fees were for. Just pay. There was no duty as parcel was a gift and worth €25. The extra fees were about the same amount as the original cost for delivery. I paid and then contacted UPS to ask for an invoice so I know what these charges are for. To date I have been in contact with four UPS contacts and they all say nothing to do with them and pass it on to someone else. Still no info. And no interest.
Will not use again.

Another delivery fail by UPS

EDIT: 2 days later, I received a valid PIN code for my delivery, after some back and forth with the customer care team. Updated to 4 stars for the effort of the customer care team - Raja, Connor, and anyone else who participated in resolving the issue, including the backend team.
However, a big minus to the UPS CSTS Ireland Ltd, who fail to identify themselves when calling from what seems to be scam phone number that cannot be called back. UPS Ireland - ladies and gentlemen, I'm fully confident that you are capable of putting a better effort for the last-mile delivery and communication thereof, so please, make that effort.

I used the option to deliver to an automated delivery box location. Getting an error when entering the tracking number for 4 days straight. Customer support in India mentions a "PIN code" that I was suposed to get but clearly didn't... another disgraceful fail by UPS!

Absolutely awful service

Absolutely awful service. I had flyers ordered for an event for my business which were ordered over a week before. The flyers were delivered the day after the event took place. They were due to be delivered on Thursday before the Sunday event. I spoke to no one who was helpful on the phone, I lodged a complaint and no one from the complaints team contacted me, despite the fact I was told multiple times they would within 2 hours.

I absolutely do not recommend.

Couldn't deliver my item 2 times

Couldn't deliver my item 2 times - says driver can't call. I live in an apartment and the driver would need to be granted access by me to get inside. Called and asked why they didn't call when they were at the property and they said the drivers don't have receiver's details. I asked if they have a holding facility where I could go and collect and no, they shipped it back to the sender, This happened twice for the same order. Ended up cancelling it and ordering a refund, I don't think I would have gotten my order.
Did not appreciate the lack of effort to communicate with me and arrange any alternatives.

Please DO NOT USE UPS!!

Please DO NOT USE UPS!!! Delivery service is just simply unacceptable! I had lost items, had to wait for refund for months...
Also had damaged items, where I was told the process takes weeks so I gave up on that...
Now my item was delivered to some random address and received an item not belonging to me! Rang UPS (30 mins waiting) and was told driver will be back within an hour, that was 3 days ago!!!

Avoid where and when possible

Horrendous delivery in our local area, to the point where I avoid ordering from places that I know use UPS. Customer care are helpful in getting the package redirected to a pick up point, but this isn't possible if a signature is required.

There is no one to share feedback about improving what is obviously a very broken system. Both my partner and I have tried to work with them and give feedback, but it falls on deaf ears. We reckon the delivery driver for our area does not attempt to make deliveries when they say they do - and no one in UPS seems to care!
