Do not use - bunch of thieves!

Do not use ValueBasket - they are the worst online company i have ever dealt with online. I am now following up my complaint with the manufacturers of the product i ordered, the trading standards and the police. I ordered my products on the 4th of may 2016. By early june they told me they had run out of stock, and i have been awaiting my refund now for 5 weeks. I contact them daily, and all they say is that "my request has been escalated to accounts". 9 weeks they have had my money. Truly a bunch of thieves and i wonder how many other people they have done the same too.... 000's i am sure. Fitbit are also being made aware not to use these thieves as a supplier.

A very dubious online retailer.

The reason for the cancellation of purchase and a refund of payment resulted from an unsatisfactory attempt by Value Basket to provide me with a prompt and genuine service.

My obvious choice in entering into a sales transaction with Value Basket on the 18th May 2016, was their attractively advertised prices - should've double-checked the authenticity of their seemingly professionally designed website which I innocently assumed was a reputable UK based company. To cut a long, angst-ridden story short, the items which were a set of expensive photographic lenses totaling €3286.70 that I paid for via my Visa Debit card, gradually began to fade from sight via a string of stock-scribed responses to my anxious inquiries about a delivery.

Phone calls to the website's number found me discussing the issue with what sounded like, Chinese-speaking customer reps, presumably in their Hong Kong office. This and a subsequent browse of the site's business history eventually led me to believe that Value Basket was, to all intents and purposes, a fraudulent operation who have been duping other, gullible customers with their flashy website and bargain prices...

..And I am now allegedly, one of their recent victims!

I have now made another desperate attempt to cancel the full order with an immediate refund, only to receive another one if their repetitious, stock replies about, "Your request has been submitted to our accounts team and will be processed asap...However due to recent system restructuring this time frame may vary."

I now require a positive means of claiming back my full payment, so that I can purchase the goods from a reputable retailer.

Any viable suggestions?

LIARS. Do not use this company. No stock.

I've been waiting 45 days for the order to ship so far.
I've contacted them numerous times trying to get a date they will get new stock in or ship my order, or anything. (any information to show they are doing something)

So far nothing but apologies for the delay. No indication that anything at all is progressing.

I will soon be seeking a refund.
If they are slow to refund (as I believe they will be, or may never intend to refund the money) I will have to pass on the case to my credit card company for them to persue it.

After 4 month waiting on my cámara

I have ordered on 13 March 2016 a cámara. By the end of March I have received the welcome Mail to the customer service and another mail apologizing for the delay.
Well I am still waiting for the delivery and after my last angry mail I receive an offer to choose another camara.
Why should I change my mind? Because there were never 5 camaras on stock like it said so on the offer when I put in my order.

Terrible service

Ordered speakers, still waiting. Customer service no help. All very vague. Given them till Friday then will cancel and ask for money back. Judging by other reviews I will need to go direct to credit card company to get my money. This was a present, birthday was last week!

Absolutely terrible

I purchased two phones from them on 9 June with the promised 2-3 days for dispatch. The promise wasn't met and I received emails about the backlog, expediting my delivery etc etc until I got completely fed up with their lies and cancelled my order. My order was cancelled on 21 June and I was promised a refund within 5 business day, surprise surprise, this hasn't happened either. I have had the usual excuse about the change in their systems and can I be patient. I have rung every other day and gotten nowhere. This company is a complete scam. I have now lodged dispute forms with my bank and I will be calling Consumer Protection to report them as a fraudulent company. Do not do business with this company, save yourself the hassle.

Do Not Use This Website - Waste of time and possibly money

I placed an order for a Sony Z5 on the 27th of April. After the 5-8 day expected delivery, I received an email stating that there has been a delay and that the phone would be delivered by the 19th. Fair enough i thought and at least they've given me a date.....
This date passes and still no phone, so popped an email over to Value Basket customer service who offer a free 32gb usb for my troubles but no longer able to offer a date of delivery.
The phone has been in stock the whole time on the website and the price has been reduced by £50 probably due to the value of the phone becoming less after such a time passing.
I really regret not purchasing the phone from somewhere else and spending the extra 5-10% it would have cost because I'm not sure if this phone I've already paid for was ever going to arrive and from the sounds of things, people who have applied for deposits have also struggled actually getting that too.

I submitted for a refund on the 27th of june after giving up waiting. ValueBasket said I will be emailing me in the next few days and a refund will be released following that.... Still nothing and from reading other reviews, I have no hope in seeing that money again.

I will take the advise of another reviewer here who claims to have got a refund by submitting a report to the Chinese Embassy in London(contact details available on their website), use their registered address, Hong Kong Unit 1505 15/F Yu Sung, Boon Building , 107-111 Des Voeux Road Central. Also CC ValueBasket in the email.
I advise all others waiting for a refund to do the same and hopefully something may finally be done about this website wasting peoples time and money.

Good luck everyone out there trying to get their money back, please don't make the same mistake I did and ignore these reviews.

Edit: Now Value basket are trying to hide this post by stating I've already reviewed this company, as you can see by this review I have only 1 review to my name, this one! I had previously reviewed the company with 2 stars but deleted it since that was clearly inaccurate.

Absence of post-sale customer service

My smartphone stoppend working after 10 days of use. I've requested full refund. They wanted to organise a local pick up. My parcel has been ready with all paperwork but courier has not picked it up yet - every day during last 14 days I've been contacting them, every day I have been promised to have it organised.. no result yet... Unaccapetable service

No item, no refund (Refund now processed from Bank) - Do not use this company

About 10 days ago or so I contacted my bank to dispute the transaction and initiate a chageback on my visa debit card- they sent me a form to complete together with any correspondence with Valuebasket.

Today I received a full refund from my bank (I am guessing they will claim this back against the bank used by Valuebasket).

A little advice - I told my bank that I had not received the goods (after about 3 weeks of delays) the bank were ready to refund the amount straight away. But once I had clarified that I had cancelled the transaction I had to provide further information.

So my advice would be do not cancel your order with Valuebasket (it may not be possible to do this because there site is not accessible at the moment.)

But contact your bank and say you have not received the goods in the time stated and would like to initiate a chargeback. I would say you are more likely to get your money back quicker. Be warned though that Valuebasket then have 60 days to dispute this (so they may say they have shipped the item - you all know how bad they are).

As for what is going on currently I would say they are currently in the process of winding down and moving to another company name - though this is purely speculation. It would nice if they explained what was going on but their customer service is just lip service.

My advice would be not to buy from Valuebasket under any circumstances.

Firstly apologies this may be a long read…!

I thought I would include my experience with Valuebasket in the hope that it would provide further information for people considering buying from this company.

I intially placed my order on 27/05/2016 for an LG G3 priced at 179.99, stock availability was shown on the website and I was encouraged by their supposedly fast dispatch and delivery times "ready to be shipped 2 - 5 working days", "Delivered 5 -8 working days".

Now I had previously ordered from Valuebasket and got my item within that time frame so no problem I thought.

Alarm bells started ringing when I started to enquire about the order status and delivery times frames:-

Order status emails were sent a total of 6 times between 08/06/2016 to 22/06/2016 with each reply stating pretty much what everyone else has been getting.:-

As of yet I have not received any email relating to a "refund confirmation" by Valuebasket and going by what other people have experienced who knows when this may be.

If I do not have any indication of a refund from Valuebasket I will have no option but to contact the local authorities as well as UK Action Fraud.

TL:DR: Don’t buy anything from Valuebasket they do not dispatch items when they say they will and hold on to your money for weeks.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

I ordered a product on the 2016-04-24 and have still not received it. After chasing them weekly, you just get a canned response that the product is going to be shipped. On 2016-06-17 I requested that the order is cancelled and they confirmed that my money will take around "2-3 days" to make it to my account. Today is 2016-7-01. I have still not received any money, just more excuses when calling. Not sure why this company is allowed to trade in the UK/EU.

No phone and no refund

Not happy with this company. I ordered a Samsung S7 which was apparently in stock and would take 5 to 7 working days. 10 days later I still hadn't received my phone. I emailed twice and the excuse was a back log. After reading the poor reviews I decided to cancel the order and requested my money back. Two weeks later and I'm still waiting. Another poor excuse about restructuring their
payments or something. A really poor level of service and excuses. Do not use or trust. I would not recommend to anyone.

Thieves

After cancelling an order, they suppose to refund my money in 2-5 business day. I sent them several e mail, claiming my money and the answer was always the same. "Please wait few more days" . Absolutely unacceptable. The customer service is poor and useless. After more then 10 days my money are still not there and i don't have any e mail who is confirming my refund. I will dispute the transaction with my bank. Maybe the only way to see your money back.

Been waiting months

I purchased a Nikon 200-500 lens I needed for an upcoming photo project. I had no worries about value basket as I have had used them before with good service, however this time round I am utterly shocked at the way they have handled my order.

I ordered on the 20th April and the order was confirmed a few days later. The item was displayed on their site as in stock and to be delivered 2-5 working days. After giving them the benefit of the doubt and extending my patience I sent my first email back to them on the 16th May asking for an update.

I have copied and pasted it below:

"Dear Paul,

Thanks for your email.

We humbly apologize for any inconvenience, we brought you with this matter. We are now working diligently to ship your order as soon as possible. We can only expect a dispatch any day this week. Once dispatch, we will notify you with the tracking details so that you can track it online.

For the meantime, your patience and understanding with this matter is highly appreciated."

This is pretty much the same reply I got after another 8 emails (almost feels automated). When I asked for a refund instead they make you fill out forms (of which I did and returned immediately). Now I get the new response of:

"Dear Paul ,

I apologize for the delay in processing your refund. I appreciate this mustn't be easy for you, but can assure you that I am doing everything I can to have your refund prioritized.

Your order is on queue for refund as we speak and has been escalated to our payment partners to expedite the process. A member of our customer service team will contact you by email as soon as it is completed.

Many thanks in advance for your extended patience in this matter. I will be in touch should we be able to process your refund sooner. "

I have had this response 3 times via email and twice over the phone. They pass the responsibility to their finance department who do absolutely nothing.

At this moment in time I am still waiting for a refund and doubt I'll ever get it. Promise after promise broken.

Very disappointed

I processed my order on June, 3rd through ValueBasket.es and I have the same experience as Gediminas and Gernot: the web publishes the same periods of delivery and provide the same answers in the Spanish web. I thus conclude that is their standardised procedure to deal with dissatisfied customers around the world. I've just cancelled my order and I'm quite worry about the money I have paid, 600 €, which for me is quite a lot. As the money went into an account in Gibraltar, a well-known off-shore location, the very same day of the purchase, I now see frustrated my need of having a tablet and the lost of my time waiting for it.

They were unable to process the order within 3+ weeks, money hold for one month and no refund process initiated in a week after cancellation. This must be a scam. Don't order from this place - save your time (time costs money).

No-Value Basket

The story begins with an online purchase of a camera - from what seems like a reputable company with fabulous deals. Oh, how wrong I was....

I realised an hour after my purchase that I had been scammed. As predicted, the item never arrived. I was sent into a spiral of 'apologies for the inconvenience caused' posts. But I highly doubt the validity of this apology.

At the end of 8 long, working days I contacted Mastercard, who already knew of ValueBasket's dodgy online antics. The gentleman on the phone had actually had a call about Value Basket that very same day!! Thank you to Mastercard for saving the day and refunding my £600 - it was most certainly lost in the Value Basket scam pit. I feared it lost for ever in a haze of emails.

I must reiterate - this company is NO-VALUE Basket. (If you have already purchased something here, contact your card provider immediately!).

How to get your money back; Shocking & debilitating experience

I saw all the bad reviews, but being a hopeless optimist I thought they are exaggerations. I called first to make sure that they have the Samsung phone in the stock and I was assured that they do have it and the order will be processes 3-5 working days and arrive after 5-8 days.

2 months later and after at least 50 calls/ emails I got no confirmation of the delivery date nor the date of the refund. The e-mails seem to be standard replies and not to have too much connection with what one writes and the phone line is the most of the time not working.

The only way I managed to get my money back was to report them to the Chinese Embassy in London: you will find the 3 email addresses (embassy, consulate & press) on their website

I got my money back in 48h from the date I wrote to the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in London with Value basket in cc

I found the experience shocking and debilitating so think several times if you want to take the risk and do the same mistake as me to doubt people who wrote the worst reviews here. I have to apology to everyone who made the effort to write the warnings which I didn't listen to.

Valuebasket tried to block my review telling to the Trustpilot that I was not their customer, so I have to prove that they lie.

Good luck to everyone to get your money back and if you don't succeed otherwise try my method.

Why are you charging?

Why did you charge me for a Samsung phone S7 edge on the 2016-05-03 that you allready know you are not going to ship in the next few Days. It is nothing but fraud!! You sent me this on the 21th of june saying:"Good news! Your order (1046297) left our warehouse and is in transit to your local depot for final delivery. You will receive another email with the tracking number once processed. Stay tuned! " And now i read on my status that it is delayed. IS IT ON ITS WAY OR NOT????
I supose to bring it on my 4 week vacation in my home in Spain on the 1st of june were i need a dual-sim phone are you going to deliver what you said you allreday had on the 3rd of may?

Save yourself the disappointment and order elsewhere

Do not order from ValueBasket.com. On the 3rd of May, I placed an order for a FitBit Blaze. I chose ValueBasket as they were one of a few companies that were charging a lower price for this product. I was given an estimated shipping time of 2-5 days and an estimated delivery time of 5-8 days, just in time for my birthday. On the 18th of May, I had still not received any information as to when my product was being delivered, so I decided to contact the company. I was reassured that the product would be delivered to me, they just had a small backlog due to unforeseen increases in orders. I was fine with this and continued to wait for my product. The next time I contacted ValueBasket was the 24th of May, to which I was given the same response and was also told that my order would be moved to priority listing, so still I waited. I contacted ValueBasket again on the 31st of May and the 8th of June where they were unable to present me with any new information, at this point I was feeling as if they has stolen money out of my account and they were unwilling to provide any new information to me. Eventually, on the 20th of June, they finally admitted that they had, in fact, ran out of stock for the FitBit Blaze and would not be getting any more in stock. They tried to resolve the issue by telling me I could have a different product, which I denied as I have lost all faith in the company. So take this as a warning, do not buy items that you want from ValueBasket as they will more than likely not arrive.
