Been using it a couple of years I print layout and take to allotment save trying to remember where I planted veg last time. Would like to have scrolling on plan instead of using side bar??

thanks for the review. You should be able to scroll from the plan: You can drag the plan with the mouse or you finger (if one a touch screen device). Just press the mouse button down over the plan and drag whilst holding the button down. Then let go of the button. Similar on touch screen just drag finger arround over the plan to move that way. Hope that helps.
Easy to use for straight forward…
Easy to use for straight forward vegetable gardens definitely recommend it. But in my case, I was struggling to design a circular herb garden with large rocks in it and had to switch to another design software for it.

Thanks for the feedback. I assume you tried the circular bed. We'll add in a rock or two to the structures menu. In the meantime If you add irregular gravel sections over the top of the bed it would have similar effect of the large rocks and the herbs and other plants would flow round them. thanks again .

The aid I was looking for.
Having just installed a new Veggie Gdn I realized that I needed to plan my planting to most efficiently utilize the limited space available. When looking for online tools I stumbled on the product - it appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. So far so good. Easy to use & fun working / playing with.

Great teacher if needed, epic planning tool if not. Great for any level.
As a total beginner, VegPlotter has been my saviour. From spacing to planting out. Tells me everything I need to know. It’s easy to use and interact with and has plenty of preloaded plants. Have just started experimenting with the custom plants so looking forward to much more to come.

Of great benefit
Very easy to use, although there are a few things I might personally like to be different it is a very useful tool for the vegetable plot. I use a laptop to update and have the phone down on the plot, a big benefit of that is that I not only do not need labels, always a problem, but providing I have kept notes up to date I know what the plant is, where it came from, the variety, and actions such as last feed or weed or even harvest results.
I feel I am in the early stages of use and there is more to learn.

I am loving using this site to configure the plan for a new charity kitchen garden project I’ve been involved with, it’s great to be able to sit with those you are collaborating with and make changes to your plan in readiness for implementation. I also found that when I had a question as to whether something could be done I was pointed in the right direction very swiftly. It’s a lovely, easy to use site.

This program is not conducive to square…
This program is not conducive to square foot gardening. The plants you place are oversized for an individual square plot. The programmer does not understand laying an individual bed for square foot gardening.

In VegPlotter, Plants have their own spacing that we have chosen to fit in with the spacing and to represent the size the plant will grow to. But the plant icon sizing is completely configurable by you. You can reduce the icon size of a plant icon if the default is not to your liking. If you select the planting SFG block that you've added and change the spacing you will see that the plant icon shrinks (see the spacing field with the note saying "also sets the size of the plant" in the planting details menu). The number of plants per block uses Mel's spacing guidance but is also completely customisable. You can set it to any number of plants per SFG block. You can also set it to add one, two or three plants per 2x2 block too. Thanks Richard
Additional Re. icon sizes: I've checked through the icon sizes of all the plants and I can see that some could be reduced. I have reduced the default size of those. Thanks. You can customise the size of the icons by selecting the plant on the plan and then changing the spacing value that says "also sets the size of the plant". That lets you scale the icons too. You can zoom in and out on the beds too. There are afew ways to do this. 1) use the zoom buttons bottom right of plan, 2) hold down ctrl (or cmd) on keyboard and scroll your mouse wheel, or 3) pinch your fingers to zoom out and vice versa to zoom in. As you and another recent review have mentioned the plant icon sizing I've since been through all the plant icons available and reduced any that may be too large. I have never used a garden planner…
I have never used a garden planner before and I'm not very tech-savcy, but this was very simple and easy to use. I am so glad I found such a great resource for planning my garden. I was so impressed I went ahead and bought the subscription for the year. It's going to be extremely helpful with tracking when to plant and when to harvest!
