Was a well priced check that tells you all to know about the vehicle you are searching for. Very simple, very easy to do. Highly recommend if you’re looking to see the history of your car.

Completed in minutes and the layout was really easy to understand. I felt comfortable using the RAC since it is a reputable company and I knew I wasn’t getting scammed by some fake website.

I was buying a second hand van and wanted a full check, the RAC vehicle check was easy to use and gave all the checks I needed. It highlighted something from MOT checks which I was able to have done before purchasing. Very good and would highly recommend

We bought a used car through Car gurus and had an inspection done by the RAC. We chose the advanced option and although one might think it expensive, it’s definitely worth every penny. The engineer called and went through the report in detail and also send us the written report. They also use their own engineers and do not sub it out. Best decision ever and highly recommended!

Very helpful information and easy to understand

I paid for a comprehensive vehicle inspection at a cost of over £260 for a car I wanted to buy, but was unable to view as it was sited at some distance from my home, and thought using the RAC would give me peace of mind. I received a verbal update from the inspector on the day of the inspection and he stated that he had no real concerns about the car and that there were mainly minor issues - needed oil change and brakes needed checking and was overall, quite enthusiastic about the car, saying it was the in the best condition he had seen for this make/model of used car. As the comprehensive inspection includes the inspector driving the car for a few miles, I was surprised, when I first drove the car that there appeared to be a problem with either the clutch or the gear box and that this hadn't been mentioned by the inspector. I took the car to a local mechanic who informed me immediately that the clutch was very low and either needed adjusting or replacing. It turns out that it needed to be replaced, at a cost of over £1000, which, had I known, I would never have bought the car in the first place. The garage I bought the car from would only help if I returned the car to them but, given that it was so far away, this was not practicable. So, the very reason that I used the RAC inspection service, to check the new vehicle for any major costly faults, let me down badly and I am very disappointed and would not recommend or use the service again. It also took 2 days to receive the written report, after having to chase for it, which also made no mention of any problems with the clutch. Very poor.

It's beneficial to have all the information in one report, although in the case of variables like CAT S, it can't provide specific details about the damage or repairs.

Very quick and easy to check a car before buying it

Good value for money. I found out that a car I was looking at buying had an undisclosed cat s write off. The seller didn't deny when I asked them about it but they also couldn't provide proof that it had been properly inspected and repaired. Their only assurance was an MOT which wasn't enough for me to proceed with the purchase. Money (and potentially lives) saved by using this service

I have tried different but best rated HPI chek unfortunately they charged me for full check but didn’t send or show result.RAC gave so quick and helpful information.Meantime £30.000 cover gives you peace of mind.

I was buying a vehicle and it flagged potential outstanding finance. It gave me the details, so I was able to follow up and check it was not valid and have the marker taken off the vehicle. This is better for me in the future should I sell the vehicle on.

As in previous years, used RAC to check a car I was buying. Ver quick, on the spot response. What you want when you are on the forecourt! Used my membership to reduce the cost. Very satisfied.

Conducting a vehicle check, HPI was simple and gave us peace of mind when purchasing our campervan privately. The small amount we paid for the check was worth every penny, considering the amount that the camper was.. Lucky for us, the check came back all good with more detail than we expected.
