Using the RAC Vehicle check stopped me from buying a car which had a previous finance issue which had not been highlighted. The flip side is I am about to buy a car that has been given a clean bill of health. Money well spent, peace of mind.

Was looking at buying a mercedes it was fairly cheap compared to the valuation when I spoke to the seller he said it was finance free and not a category car and that he would only accept cash no transfers, so, I used RAC history checker and it told me everything I needed to know. I found out the car had outstanding finance, who the finance company was, that the finance was for 60 months and that it was taken out 6 month prior. The seller insisted there was no finance on the car even after I sent him the evidence so I called the finance company who confirmed they had a financial interest in the vehicle. Thank you RAC for helping me NOT make a very expensive mistake, I will definitely use you again when buying a car.

it gave me a detailed report from when the car was new, including a numberplate change what the car was worth and any outstanding finance on the car.
