I am very pleased with the assistance given to me by the Village Hat Shop. We had a complex alopecia problem which they carefully solved with an appropriate hat. They were patient and efficient with our return of a product we had previously ordered as well. Excellent service. Where do you get that in 2023?

Poor returns process ! Hit you with a £5+ one off return fee even though it doesn't cost them that to send to you! Your not even allowed to drop off your item to their warehouse with them citing Health n Safety!!! Jokers! Buy from a company that doesn't try to rip you off if you want to return! Yes your an online company but you shouldn't rip customers off when/if they need to do a return!!!

I ordered a hat as a gift paid addional £3.50 for 1st class delivery 1 to 3 days .
I contacted the team after 3 days and they sent a standard email saying my item had been dispatched and could take 3 to 5 days. Obviously not sent 1st class. . They then processed a refund of 3.50 postage but no apology. Now 7 days and counting no hat as yet. Unfortunately the birthday is today. Very poor service. 😢

A great place to get a hat if you have a big head! Fantastic selection, I have just bought a bucket hat in xxl which has been great in this hot weather with lots of ventilation. Just don’t use Rebound if you need to return one as they are very slow. Fair play to Village you can use an alternative carrier such as EVRI.

8 days waiting for refund and tracked as

How can it be on the back of a van for over 24 hours
it's as if they are reluctent to issue a refund, they were quick enough to deduct £5.05 from refund for return
though.
Quick recap on my order return, the tracking system records final stage "in transit to retailer". This has not changed for 3 days so "transit to retailer"
must be by Tortoise.

Hat at £19 was very poor quality and virtually identical to one I had just returned on Amazon which cost only £5 but was wrong size. Worst still it will cost me over £5 to return it and then only if I drive some distance to drop it off. As other reviewers have said - avoid this company. I should have read the reviews first!

Shocking company do not use, purchased a hat and paid extra to get it delivered today, I’m away tomorrow, on the tracking it shows it’s been delivered to a white door, mine is grey, I’ve showed this to village hats, who’s response was go and look for the door in the photo, and unwilling to refund it, so I’ve put a PayPal claim in 😡😡😡😡😡

Very expensive returns cost.
Just had to return an unsuitable cap and the returns cost was 25% of the item value. I've returned heavy books at lower rates.

Just got myself a lone wolf cap from them.. It came 48 hours later on free post! Great hat great customer service.. Great company..

Ordered a hat and paid next day delivery with dpd.
My delivery never came the driver never even tried to deliver, took my package back to the main depot and then was told to wait 4 days on top the the 3 days I had already been waiting for.

I called village hats spoke to a French guy called casper and he was rude and very unhelpful.

I record all my phone calls and I wish I could upload the conversation so others can hear how this company runs.

They tried to charge me for sending the package back though I never received anything.

Told them due to not receiving a product I had paid for I requested a full refund with delivery cost sent to dpd for failure of delivery.

I am not paying for something I've never received yet I had originally paid for next day delivery.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from staff and failed company with alot of problems clearly. You only have to read these reviews to see there is a big problem with the village hats staff and dpd as a poor courier service.

Under legal sales rights and consumer law the company have a right to fully refund a sale that was failed on there part.

I strongly recommend others buy a digital voice recorder so as to record your phone calls so when things like this happen you the buyer has a leg to stand on...

Enough is enough now its time people make a stand against being ripped off

Ordered a hat that cost $43.66 as a gift. The hat ended up being too big for the recipient. The store makes you cover your own shipping for returns. So even though the hat weighed almost nothing, it was a bigger box due to the style of the hat. To ship it back for a "return" cost me $33 (which, per the return instructions, was the cheapest option available). So I'll get less than $10 back. I ended up ordering the hat in the correct size from a different retailer, so I've essentially bought this hat 3 times. I'm beyond unhappy with my experience with this shop.

My order never arrived, the tracking service is useless.
DO NOT buy anything from them. Scam

I bought two hats from village hat shop for the Black Friday sale. One was a corduroy kangol hat and the other a wool newsboy cap. Both came nicely packaged and in perfect condition. I was a bit nervous because I only saw negative reviews after I placed my order but my experience with village hat shop was positive despite what other reviews say. I will be happy to purchase from village hat shop again!

When I was in San Diego in June 2022, I was recommended the store for a Fedora hat. A Staff member explained every hat and got the light brown Fedora I was looking for. I just found the stores site online and ordered the white and black including the feathers.
I'm currently in Philadelphia and received them quick. I definitely recommend this place for purchasing a Fedora hat.

Good experience with this company, ordered hat, turns out I ordered wrong type, so instant refund, plus reordered new hat arrived in 3 days, happy with new hat, thank you village hats Les , Devon

Absolutely terrible customer services. My parcel never arrived, when I approached the company, I was treated as though I was lying! All I wanted was a new hat sent out or ultimately a refund. Very very poor service. When things go right all is well, when things go wrong do not expect any help whatsoever. There should be a law against it. Do not use this compan

I had a decent experience offering a bucket hat. That said, I didn't have to send the hat back. Looking into buying a second hat from them I realised you have to pay your own postage (almost £5) to return the hat. For a £20 hat it's a big chunk of the value to essentially try on a hat and realise it's not right for you.

So I guess that's my note of caution.
