Dont activate early credit/debit cards or your can get trapped far from home!!

Just so you know, Visa also changed their url to USA.VISA to hide all the negative reviews they are getting.

If you have VISA debit cards or credit cards that are being changed out early, DO NOT ACTIVATE new cards, or you can get trapped far from home, with zero resources to get you back!!
••Example of early change, a credit card says expires 12/28 but due to some reason, they send a replacement early with new card design but same card# but new expiration date and cciv#.
If you activate the new cards, you will end up with the same chaos my family went through, trapping us three hours from home, with no working card to access our accounts.
Visa made a change and had institutions change all cards out. When the new cards that retain the old card numbers are activated, they all stop working, because Visa's servers swap out the new expiration dates with the old and there is nothing your bank can do to fix this. Its VISAs problem they brush responsibility on the banks, and to hide this issue, they changed their website forwards so looking up their url will get you a new address which causes report websites like this, to not show their true bad reports. Usa.visa shows 4 reports when they have complaints in the thousands due to this issue.

Shocking company

Shocking company! In what world can a payment processor decide what entertainment I should and shouldn't have access to?

What people legally choose to entertain themselves with is their free choice. And if they can start censoring video game access and the expression of artists then what next? Maybe they'll block access to political websites, maybe they'll take down onlyfans and prevent women from monetising themselves, maybe they'll deny access to certain brands of clothing.

At what point does a payment clerk get to decide if you're allowed to buy something in an allegedly free world?

And then flat out lie about it in their public response to the situation.

Hope they're ready for some pretty big lawsuits for loss of income from video game companies!

Censorship and power abuse

To be clear, I do not enjoy the content that is being censored by Visa, I think it is generally bad for public consumption, but I will be DAMNED if a COMPANY thinks they can tell people what to do or spend their money on, or control what people sell, you are not a government entity, reverse this policy and stop listening to the vocal minority of Karens, if this policy is not reversed by my next payday, I will be taking my business to American Express, or any other number of companies who do what you do without thinking they are some sort of paragon of virtue. We all know that tweet is a lie, and your support teams are handling this pathetically. Reverse and put my money to the people who actually provide something or collapse and start putting the fries in the bag.

Illegally dictating and revoking payments

Refusing to process payments over false claims of legality and problematic content. Withholding payment from artists, developers, and authors who create world with "problematic content", like Game of Thrones and the Bible contains. Mistreatment of customers and consumers, yelling threats and accusations at those who dare ask them about why they're refusing to process payments, as a payment processor should.

You're not the goverment. You're a service provider!

Both Visa and Mastercard are using their power to censor media that isn't Illegal nor a problem. They are taking away freedom from consumers based on their own preferences and desires. This is disgusting and shouldn't be allowed. Whats next to come? Will you stop us from buying luxuries you don't like? stop people traveling to places you don't and people to go to?

They think they own the market

They think they own the market and the law and want to dictate what we should and shouldn't buy with our money. They're pressuring video game companies to censor games with adult content.

A complaint for Visa

They want to decide what's legitimate business and what isn't, Visa does not decide thats what the law is for!

Screw arbitrary censorship, Screw your attempts to push blame on others, Screw your LIES, You do NOT have the right to control what we buy, To decide what is appropriate and what isn't, And you most CERTAINLY do not have the right to pressure your business partners to push YOUR censorship agenda.

People deserve the right to pay for and enjoy legal content regardless of your businesses irrelevant feelings and the complaints of a bunch of nagging Karen's who'd rather push censorship onto platforms that are not aimed at children rather than actually parent themselves.

And in case you didn't get the message, SCREW YOU.

Don't Censor Us. We'll fight back.

Visa, you're a disappointment. Just like other payment processors, you are censoring legal content on other sites because it doesn't align with your company's morals. How long will it take for you to decline payments for someone's electricity or water bill because they bought a video game or other product you found "problematic?" Do you see where this will go? Or maybe you'll wait until everyone sees how constant you and other payment processors are lying about censorship on behalf of other companies without their consent.

Nonexistent Customer Service

Customer service agents on their phone line repeatedly and quite stroppily tell you to send an email instead. Why do they have a phone line if they expect all customer service to be conducted by email?

Dictator internet censorship simulation

Visa are trying to be authoritarian content moderators on the internet, threatening websites and web services with prevention of the use of their payment services because of arbitrary vague guide lines on what is not acceptable. Visa needs to stick with simply being a payment processing company and stop trying to play a dictator internet censorship simulation.

Corporate scum with no brain or morals just fake ones.

A payment company that refuses to greenlight a legal product you buy. I dont know how this is even happening. But this should be straight up illegal what Visa is doing.
Btw this is not just now. They are doing this for years.
Visa for you: "You are a dirty money company with no morals and high interest charghes. How about you focus on doing your dam job?"

Exposing shady practices

They think they can dictate what you can and can’t spend your money on. They believe that because they sit at the top of a duopoly, they have the power to censor entire markets at the whim of a lobby. They hide behind “policy” while stripping away your freedom of choice, deciding which games you’re allowed to buy on Steam, itch.io, and beyond.

But financial giants are not moral arbiters, they’re service providers. And when they weaponize their position to push someone else’s agenda, it’s not just censorship; it’s economic coercion.

If Visa thinks they can silence creators and control consumers, they owe us more than an explanation. They owe us an apology.

Scammers, Liars, and Censors

Dear Visa Customer Service,

I am writing to express my utter disgust and anger at your recent statement claiming that Visa "does not moderate sold content" in response to your blatant censorship of Steam and itch.io. This is a shameless lie and an insult to our collective intelligence. Your actions have demonstrated beyond any doubt that you are indeed moderating, censoring, and arbitrarily deciding what content is acceptable.

As a mere payment processor, your role is limited to processing transactions, nothing more. You are not a God, government, law enforcement, or a parent. It is not your place to decide what is or isn't appropriate for adults. By falsely accusing companies with no criminal records or history of selling illegal content as an "elevated risk of illegal activity," you have shown an appalling lack of respect for these businesses and an ignorance of the law.

Your company should be held legally and financially accountable for the slanderous remarks you've made against these platforms. Accusing them of engaging in illegal activities when they have done nothing of the sort is a gross misrepresentation and a violation of their rights.

I, along with the entire gaming community, demand that you immediately reverse the actions taken against Steam and itch.io. If you fail to do so, we will take our frustration to the next level. We will not rest until we have inflicted more damage to your brand's reputation than any video game ever censored from those platforms could have caused.

Visa, you have poked the bear, and now you must face the consequences. The gaming community is unified in its opposition to your censorship and overreach. If you choose to use censorship as a weapon, we are ready to go to war with your company.

This is not a threat, but a promise. Reconsider your actions and restore the neutrality that once defined your brand, or face the wrath of millions of gamers worldwide.

Sincerely,
Justin Hand
