Even though we canceled your wedding due to the pandemic you no longer have a say in choosing your date or us keeping our word in the contract

If i could give Canyon Creek Country Club no stars you better believe I would! Back in 2018 we signed a contract to be married and hold our reception there. Working with Cammie Peel was awesome! She was extremely courteous and well suited for her job. Cammie left the club and obtained another job. Now Rose had taken her place. The country club used the term “canceled” when Rose told me via her personal cellphone in mid March due to the Coronavirus. I was in tears two days, then my fiancé and me texted and emailed Rose we had chosen 10/10/20 as our new date. Mind you they had $8,500 of our money and a signed contract. Rose shared she had a contract out with another couple for that same day. I told her via text we would be willing to start our wedding at noon and she responded it was perfect. Two days later we can’t marry on that date and they had no available Saturdays in September or October. We were back and forth with Rose trying to have a wedding date in nice weather because I wanted an outdoor wedding. I have chronic pain syndrome and disabled in my right foot and ankle. I take medication everyday. And cold months I’m in a lot more pain and walk with a limp! Canyon Creek Country Club was not accommodating to their cancellation of our wedding and nor did Rose care making things right with us! Long story short I asked for a refund to hurry and find another venue in the fall. Which in email, right then Rose used force majuere in the contract! They determined although we had a contract they could not provide a substitute location like written in the contract or hold our wedding. They were our only vendors who took money away from us! 1,500 to be exact even though they breached our contract. You have been warned this country club isn’t champagne and caviar like I assumed. It’s all about money and not caring about their customers, future customers and reputation. I believe they only care about getting your money! We will marry in September at another venue and Canyon Creek Country Club did us a favor! Wedding Spot needs to truly investigate and read reviews of all the businesses they advertise. Because this establishment I just shared with you about isn’t honest!
