Great resource

Great resource. The team are responsive and extremely helpful. I find this much more successful than other diets as the concept is so simple...if you burn more calories than you consume then you will lose weight. Its brilliantly flexible as well and works for any lifestyle weather you are stationary or very active. I really recommend this to anyone.

Straightforward Food and Exercise Diary

I have used this website in the past and like the honest food recording - enter what you have eaten and calories left are counted down until the end of the day, while a simple nutrition pie-chart shows you if you are on track that day or over any time period with key nutrients. You can easily add your own food favourites and recipes to the database and you can participate in various weight loss and exercise challenges and topic based forums if you wish. It also links to various fitness trackers. If I had a very minor criticism it would be that I would like to record more nutrients - sugars, sodium and omega 3 are important to me.

We don't have a native app available for download but we do have a great mobile web application which can be added to your home screen... This means there's nothing to download and you don't have to worry about updates, but you can access the site from your phone home-screen directly (like you would an app), and it's designed to be finger friendly and work much in the same way an app would.


Saving the mobile web app to you home screen on your device is quick and easy:


Open your internet browser (normally Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet etc), head over to https://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/lostart.htm and log in to your account.


iPhone - Once logged in, look for a button that looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards. Tap this and a new menu will pop up, tap 'add to home-screen' then to confirm tap 'add' when prompted.


Android - Tap the browser menu button at the top right hand corner (three dots), and then tap 'add to home-screen'.

I find WLR a really useful tool for…

I find WLR a really useful tool for tracking my calories, food intake and exercise, even though I also have a Fitbit. It’s easy to find and log food and to record the calories from my own recipes and I particularly enjoy the nutritional breakdown of what I have eaten, it motivates me to eat more fruit and veg and fibre!

So simple and easy to follow but…

So simple and easy to follow but without the online programme it wouldn't have worked for me. Great results, no cravings and nothing is off limits as long as you stick within your range. A good incentive to exercise more too.

I always steered clear of counting…

I always steered clear of counting calories as I always felt it was such a hard slog to do so but WLR is brilliant! It takes all the hard work out of it and once you get to grips with all the different information and how it all works it is fab.

An extensive weight loss resource

I always come back to this site. The main advantage to all similar online resources is that there are thousands of foods listed in the database, so you hardly ever have to add your own. You can make up a 'plan' of meals you have regularly, to save time, and even add your own recipes. The help team are fantastic, and there is a lot of support available via the home page, support team, and other users. Challenges are available to help motivation, which make it fun. It is also one of the most cost effective sites out there. Highly recommended for those who are prepared to log their foods.

It is well designed and easy to use

It is well designed and easy to use. For me the only slight difficulty is that I use all my own recipes and rarely by ready made food. This means in order to get a reasonably accurate daily reading I need to load all the ingredients and weights for each meal.

I have really enjoyed logging my…

I have really enjoyed logging my calories. I did it to loose weight and continue with it to maintain my weight. Being able to know how I’m doing with my macro nutrients is key for keeping me healthy. I intend to continue to use Weight Loss Resources for a very long time as I like the fact that I know exactly what I’m eating. I would recommend anyone to try them as it’s easy to use regardless of wether it’s to loose weight or to keep your diet healthy.

I signed up with WLR after a free 7 day…

I signed up with WLR after a free 7 day trial. I find the website really helpful and recording what I eat and how much I exercise is really helping me to focus on making healthy choices and keep myself on track. I can find out the calories in my food and upload my own recipes quickly and easily so that I can add them into my daily record very simply. I am very happy that if have become a member of WLR and think it's very good value for money. I also need to mention the Helpteam who have replied quickly to all my questions and have been very supportive. Thank you.

It works!

Purchase is easy (CPA but never had any issues with it) and the site is great. Food database is good (and not littered with many inaccurate entries for one food unlike a certain “Fitness Pal”!) and well moderated by the support staff.

Forums are also very friendly and as a community it’s welcoming; if you want to lose weight then forget magic points or syns or other made up nonsense; stick to science-based weight loss - which WLR is.

I am enjoying being involved with WLR

I found WLR helpful fifteen years ago. It worked! I lost weight easily; so when my weight started to creep up recently I returned to the website. I am really enjoying using the site and it is helping me understand where I need to adjust portions. I know I eat healthily. It is an enhancement to my day and I am gradually losing weight without dieting or angst. It is enjoyable reflecting on what I am eating and noting the exercising I am doing. It is motivational I am not eating weight gaining snacks and I am finding new ways to develop my exercise regime. In fact it is fun and I know there is support around if I need it. If you like analysis, graphs and data or if you like reflecting and writing or sharing ideas and experience sharing with others, you will not be disappointed. I know I will not get bored and hopefully my knees will feel the benefits and my shape will become “just right” as baby bear said.

Answer to a food lover's prayer

For someone like me who likes to cook my own favourite recipes and doesn't want to follow meal plans, this is the perfect weight loss tool. The food database is excellent and the food diary really keeps me on track. No banned foods, just careful planning.
