Hey there

Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear Bob hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in terms of longevity and lather.

On average, our Bob community gets around 10–15 washes per bar. That can vary depending on how long you shower for, how big (or small) you are, and how hairy (or not) you are.

Our new formulas have been designed to be more lathering and highly moisturising. When these two things are combined, and depending on how long you wash for, bars can go down faster.

We recently introduced Bob bundles to tackle that issue, which offer more refills at a discounted cost, ensuring you have enough bars to last every month. We know how important value is, and we believe that this is a great option to get the most value out of our product.

In terms of lather, because our bars are made with naturally derived ingredients (and skip sulfates), they can feel a little different from standard supermarket soaps, but we know how important a good lather is.

You’ve explained the Bob experience brilliantly. You’re right that Bob doesn’t behave exactly like traditional shower gel, but we designed it to deliver a really clean, refreshed feeling without leaving your skin stripped or dried out. Hearing that your skin feels refreshed and clean after every shower is exactly what we hoped for when creating Bob.

We’re also really pleased to hear the holder has been a hit too — having Bob ready to go behind the shower curtain definitely makes life easier!

Lather can take a little getting used to as Bob is quite a different way to wash compared to traditional shower gels or soap bars. We’ve found that a quick, firm circular motion with the applicator usually helps build the lather up properly before spreading it across the body. Also, always ensure you have the bar raised sufficiently by pressing the little + button on the side of the applicator.

We’ve recently upgraded our formula to create a richer lather and stronger scent, and feedback like yours genuinely helps us continue improving the wash experience behind the shower curtain.

The holder was originally designed as part of the full system for convenience and portability, but we completely hear you that not everyone needs it, and feedback like yours is exactly what helps us improve how we offer Bob moving forward. The same goes for subscriptions; we know they’re not for everyone, which is why we’re always looking at ways to make our options more flexible.

It’s also great to hear the cap design has worked better than expected and avoided any drips — small wins we love to hear!

We’re glad to hear you can see the potential in the idea, although we’re sorry the overall experience hasn’t quite lived up to expectations for you.

In terms of the shower mount, it does work best on smooth, dry surfaces such as glass and certain tile types, but we completely appreciate that this can still be frustrating if it’s not holding properly in your setup. We’re actually developing an updated mount accessory designed to work across a wider range of shower surfaces, which is currently in testing.

We also hear your comments around the bar size and value. Our newer bars are designed to be highly lathering and moisturising, although we know longevity can vary depending on washing style and shower length, and we’re constantly reviewing feedback like this as we continue refining the product.
