HI Weldrick Ltd is a family-owned company registered in England and based in Doncaster, Yorkshire- we have had an internet presence since 1998. We fully pay UK taxes and we do not divulge your personal data to any third parties. We have a pharmacy tradition dating back to the 1930s when our late founders' grandmother opened her first pharmacy in Doncaster Town Centre. Remaining true to his vision our business remains 100% family-owned. With a commitment to community healthcare and staff training we have steadily grown to 59 pharmacies in the South Yorkshire area. We employ over 600 formally trained staff among who are more than 80 pharmacists, including 9 clinical pharmacists. While our aim is not to make any mistakes we recognise they will happen occasionally and if they do we commit to communicating with our customers, do our best to put the problem right, identify the cause of the error and learn from it.

Royal Mail did not deliver my pets…

Royal Mail did not deliver my pets prescription despite the envelope having £1.70 in stamps. Weldricks have been incredibly helpful with regard to this matter and our Border Terrier will get his medication on time. Many thanks Weldricks

I've used Weldricks a lot and they've…

I've used Weldricks a lot and they've been fine but my last order contained the wrong Gaviscon. I emailed them 3 times with no response and tried calling today but the phone just rings off the hook and no reply. Hopefully this review will get some attention. No doubt they'll say my emails went to spam.

I was truly sorry to read in your review that, due to our dispatch error, you received the wrong flavour of your product. Please accept my sincerest apologies for this mistake.
While we have a rigorous three-stage checking process in place before orders are sent out, it’s clear that, on this occasion, the error went unnoticed. When mistakes happen, we conduct a full review within our team to ensure they don't recur. I understand the frustration and inconvenience this has caused you, and I want to assure you we are taking steps to improve our procedures.
As a gesture of goodwill, I will arrange for the correct item to be sent to you at no additional charge. You are, of course, welcome to keep the incorrect item as well, as we appreciate your patience in resolving this matter.
Regarding your attempts to contact us via email: I’ve thoroughly reviewed our email logs and, unfortunately, as you have correctly guessed, your messages were mistakenly filtered into our spam folder. I apologise for this oversight and can assure you we’ve now restored these emails. I’ve also alerted our IT team to investigate the issue further to prevent this from happening again.
Additionally, I note that you tried to reach us by phone yesterday but were unable to get through. We had some short notice, temporary disruption due to essential maintenance work on our telephone lines which I’m sincerely sorry for.

Consistently Reliable

I have been an online customer for several years, firstly on behalf of my mother and now for Veterinary prescriptions. Whenever I’ve needed to make contact, customer support is always very good. Mostly though, I just order online and a few days later the stuff arrives intact.

Terrible experience with Weldricks

Terrible experience with Weldricks, and this is the second time I have had problems with them. Their customer support is absolutely awful. I ordered heart meds for my critically ill dog and they stated they would be despatched within 3 days if I paid for 72 hour delivery. After 3 days they stated they take up to 5 working days to PROCESS the order - This is not stated anywhere on the website, or I would not have placed an order with them. . on the 6th working day they sent me an email saying their supplier had let them down and they did not have the medication but it was on order. The next day I asked them to chase this up and confirm when I should receive the drugs. I received a really rude email saying I could not jump the queue because it would not be fair on all their 'poorly pets' - I had not asked to jump the queue. After nearly 2 weeks I cancelled the order. I did not receive an apologies from Weldricks just rude emails from someone called Corrine. I then ordered the same drug from Hyperdrug for a tenth of the price, an they kept me updated every step of the way - they even called my vet to verify the prescription so as not to delay the life saving medication. The difference in the 2 companies is night and day. I would not ever deal with Weldricks again. THe lack of care for my pet shocked and upset me

As a family-owned, local business that has been in pharmacy for almost 100 years, we always strive to provide our customers with the best possible service from our well-trained and committed colleagues.

I have reviewed the full details of your order which we received on Wednesday, 8th October, at 9:24am. I can see that your order was dispatched on Thursday, 16th October, at 10:59am.

While this is longer than we take with most prescriptions, it is within the maximum dispensing, despatch and delivery time frames that are clearly displayed on our website during the ordering process.

While most of our orders are delivered within a few days, we clearly state on our website at the time of ordering that processing can take 3-5 working days, with DPD delivery time added on top. I understand your disappointment but I do want to reassure you that we were on track to deliver your order within the time frames we clearly provide.

I have also reviewed the emails exchanged between you and my customer service team and I am sorry that the tone did not meet your expectations. I will speak with my colleagues to ensure that future communications are more empathetic and clearer. Although phrases like "jumping the queue" were not used, I understand how our language might have come across as unnecessarily clinical and I will discuss how we can improve this going forward.

Please rest assured that we are committed to providing excellent service to all our customers and I truly appreciate your feedback.

easy to use website

easy to use website. good customer experience-i was telephoned when i had made a mistake n line by a very pleasant person. I am not very computor literate, i don't know how to scan my dog's script over, but Wendricks are fine with me ordering it on line-then sending the script on by post.

Great service

Have been a customer for a few years and always have great service (had to contact re an issue with my order this time and Corinne was superb in dealing with the replacement). Items always sent out very quickly and very good prices too.

I use Weldricks for my dog's…

I use Weldricks for my dog's medication, so much cheaper than from the vet.
Just get a written prescription from the vet and send to Weldricks, then reorder each month.

The best Chemist.

We are very fortunate in Edenthorpe to have a very well run Weldricks chemist.
Although constantly busy, they always have the time for you.
Its a warm friendly atmosphere ,nothing is too much trouble for them.
The staff work well together,giving Edenthorpe a brilliant service.

Use Pharmacy2U - FREE Prescription Delivery

Called them as a family member has been getting meds in pharmacy for a long time asking for a delivery for her as she's elderly, their call centre directed me to a paid service called Leedale who wanted £10 a month to deliver medication. There are free services which werent a consideration such as Pharmacy2U. Clearly directing people to paid services to prioritise profit over peoples wellbeing.

To clarify, our delivery service, completed by our Leedale branch, is free, we do not charge for the delivery of NHS prescriptions in original packs. However, our more advanced Medicines Support Service, which includes ordering on the patient's behalf, reconciling any medication changes, as well as delivery, is chargeable at £10 per month for aspects that are not covered by NHS funding. I apologise if this was not communicated properly and if you wish to discuss this further, or make arrangements for your relative, please contact us directly.

Postage expensive and slow

Postage expensive and slow. I think £3.49 p&p is excessive for 200ml of liquid and was shocked to find that my parcel did not arrive until 7 days after supplying prescription, despite most online orders taking 1 - 2 days. The postage box was huge compared to the product inside, which seemed wasteful of cardboard and transportation space. No issue with product itself.

I am sorry you feel that that our delivery charges are expensive, by way of explanation and not intended as an excuse I would like to explain how we came to the delivery rates we charge. We regularly review carriage charges with our delivery partners to strike the right balance between cost and quality of service. Our current pricing reflects our commitment to providing a tracked delivery service, which we believe is essential for customer peace of mind. For medicines, tracking is also a regulatory requirement from the GPhC to ensure safe delivery to the intended recipient.
We’ve chosen not to offer cheaper, untracked delivery options for these reasons.
Although we subsidise postage and packaging to remain competitive, our charges are still lower than the actual cost we incur. While our management supports this approach, we must also ensure that losses on delivery do not compromise our ability to offer low retail prices.
Regarding the time taken to process your order, I can see that it was placed on Tuesday 23rd September at 4:26pm, however we only received the prescription on Thursday 25th September, we began processing it the next working day. As veterinary items are prescription-only, legal and clinical checks are required before dispatch. Your order was completed and dispatched on Tuesday 30th September at 3:21pm, within five working days as stated on our website, using the standard 48-hour Royal Mail service you selected.
We aim to use packaging that is secure enough to withstand delivery while avoiding unnecessary waste. I appreciate your feedback about excessive packaging on this occasion and apologise for that. I’ve already shared your comments with our team to ensure better packaging choices in future.

Order takes up to 5 days before dispatch

Ordered online because I urgently needed this due to pain in my arm. Phoned up two days later to be advised they don't hold the items in stock and are awaiting a delivery from their supplier - should be about 5 days! Great! Now in agony and don't even have a dispatch date for this.

UPDATE: Ordered on 8th October - didn't turn up until 16th October, please don't bother to order here if your in pain and/or check the very small print.

Happy ordering

Easy to order online. Helps immensely by allowing prescription to be downloaded with order.
