Given Up on Westinghouse
I was limited to what I could purchase. I wanted a fully Bottled Gas stove due to where I live as I am not able to connect to mains gas supply.
I purchased a Bottled gas top with a supposedly fan forced electric oven as that was the only choice I had.
Now after a couple of years struggling with the horrible thing I have given up baking - I have baked since I was 12 years old and am now 78 and can honestly say this is the worst stove I have ever had the misfortune to own.
I have used very old gas stoves and ovens as well as new ones but this is the worst possible thing I have ever had the misfortune to purchase.
Today I put two cakes in which I mixed at the same time with a recipe I have been using for 45 years.
So much for fan forcing one is almost cooked the other is sitting there looking very sad and 'flat'' has not risen and is not cooking at the same rate as the other one. Nothing bakes as it should and as it has previously.
The top which is bottled gas is reasonable except for the design. I only had one design to choose from if I wanted gas I did not notice until I got home that the back of the top of the stove has vents flat reducing the area for pans. I have to juggle the sizes of pans I can use to ensure they are sitting on the actual gas flame. Who ever came up with the idea to put vents flat at the back of the top of the stove obviously does not cook.
Not only has this design reduced the area uses can use it has meant if I am not careful then spills and splashes from frying etc can go down the back of the stove - not down the wall but the inside back of the stove!!!!!!!
I place some foil along the back over this 'grill' which can be removed when baking this is to ensure the inside of the back of the stove does not collect smelly greasy splashes etc.
No upright splash back what a stupid idea!!!!'
I have decided baking is a no go I from now on after trying over the past couple of years since I purchased it.
Maybe I can find an old gas stove I can install outside and do my baking under the veranda and just keep the one inside for two pot cooking or three if the pans are small.

It appears my thermostat had died after one of your technicians came over. After months of waiting for parts & appointments made and cancelled and rescheduled and cancelled due to parts being no longer being available, why the hell say they were in the 1st place? I feel like the last one you could find was given to someone else. It won't be available ever again..it's not even that old. So a new one but it won't be yours after all this b.s. Very disappointed 😞

This company is the worse of the worse…
This company is the worse of the worse . I bought a brand new whirlpool end of April 2025 the the 2nd week in January 2026 my freezer broke down and I lost all the freezer food 1 day later the refrigerator stopped working out what I have outside because it was cold but list something’s out of the refrigerator I called their customer care 7 times they sent someone out they couldn’t fix it with the wasting they had with them so I have to wait 2 weeks for someone to come out so now I’m already 3 weeks with out a refrigerator so he came out again bought some parts with them it still didn’t work so he said I will be back next week now I’m 4 week without a refrigerator I called again to customer care they told me it wasn’t there problem and I said if your parts weren’t made in China there probably wouldn’t be having this issue and he said they are all made in America . The parts package said made in Mexico so there is a lie right there . Well the technician came out the following week still couldn’t fix it now I’m 6 weeks out and he said he couldn’t be back for 2 week which it will be 2 months no refrigerator , the weather is getting warmer I can’t leave food outside a friend of mine gave me a cooler but I’m buying ice every other day . I’m disabled 65 years old without a vehicle
And I can’t get anyone to help especially whirlpool. These people are useless so don’t buy anything from whirlpool there customer care people are horrible . I had to have it escalated to as far as it would go they wouldn’t help me so now I’m eating rice and bread because I’m keeping milk and butter and eggs in my cooler . That’s all I have except canned food but I used my EBT on ice and some food but list that when the wether got warmer so now I’m out of food can’t afford to buy more food and still no refrigerator . They won’t give me a new refrigerator or replace my food so now I have to wait til the 1st of the month to get some food but still no refrigerator till the middle of March , if they can fix it . So this is how they treat you . But the CEO got almost 30 million last year. They do not care that they sell crappy products as long as the ceo is making a ton of money.
NEVER TRUST WESTINGHOUSE
I purchase a new IGEN5000 from Westinghouse it has less than 1 hour running time and the instruction and warning decals shriveled up and are useless and the company refuses to replace them or even sell me new ones which I offered to pay for. NEVER TRUST WESTINGHOUSE
Don't buy a generator from Westinghouse
Planning to buy a generator from Westinghouse? Just throw your money in the trash.
Yours may show up like mine did: dead on arrival, impossible to start, impossible to repair, and Westinghouse ignoring calls for help/return.
My son ordered a Westinghouse iGen4000dfc inverter generator for me on March 3, 2025. It never worked: never ran, never even started. Called Westinghouse support multiple times. No help. I reminded them that Westinghouse says its warranty covers iGen generators for repairs or replacement for factory defects for up to three years. They said they’d call me back. Never did. When I kept calling, they’d put me on hold and never pick up. I considered taking it to a small engine repair shop. There are many in Portland OR where I live. None would agree to even look at it. It’s impossible, they said, to get replacement parts from Westinghouse. One suggested I try replacing the battery: part # 504896. I tried, but replacements are not available: not from Westinghouse, Amazon, eBay, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Batteries Plus, Interstate Batteries, UPS Battery Center or Battery Clerk. Bottom line: do not buy a generator from Westinghouse.
Terrible warranty
Bought a generator in Canada. It worked, but the starting mechanism never worked properly. Westinghouse sent me to a Canadian comapny for warranty. It is now 6 weeks into the interchange and they have done nothing. Continually ask for more information, don't answer the messages... frustrating. Westinghouse in US tells me that in order to get warranty, I need to get a US address, they will send parts and I can forward it to Canada. They won't fix it, just send parts
Westinghouse generator
Bought a Westinghouse generator in June, got it home was running rough and the rope to start wasn't working right. Called the warranty dept, filled out what was needed so i can get my brand new generator working right. Took to a shop in June, Westinghouse is horrible letting you know what is going on. After two months I got the generator back but I had to pay for the labor when it was not working from the start. I will never buy Westinghouse products every again. Horrible company.

I recently bought four fans the same one same model from Walmart.
All four have been working well I came home last night and the pictures will show what happened.
This is how I found my phone only one and one less fan when it's 100° outside it's torture.
So I think this will be my first time buying this product and my last.
Apparently I can't add pictures on this site.
Washing machine repair and terrible service from Westinghouse
I have had my washing for just over a year and it has a 2 year warranty. It was the last one available when I brought it, it was top loader with the older style with the proper agitator. I should have complained about it in the beginning but I found it very difficult to understand the cycles. Then, because I have a very small unit and live on my own with not a lot of washing I was putting the dirty washing in the machine till I tracked down the terrible smell in the bathroom. I traced it to the machine which was leaking cold water into the machine. Then I called for a service which was still covered by warranty. He replaced the cold water valve, tested the machine and it would not fill up. He left and because he had managed to get it to fill but for me after I had put my dirty clothes in to wash it only filled a small amount. He had said it was a faulty motherboard and wold have to order another. I have had to take dripping wet clothes out and hang them up for the SECOND time. I am disabled, aged and half blind. I have now been without a washer for 4 weeks, the dirty clothes are piling up and I am at a lloss to know why it takes so long to get parts. Come on Westinghouse provide a better machine
My Westinghouse fridge stopped working…
My Westinghouse fridge stopped working about 6 months out of warranty which was 12 months. I contacted my service agent who in turn suggested I contact Westinghouse as it was the compressor. I rang them and then an email was sent outlining the repairs required. They were amazing apart from the initial callous fee the covered everything. No hesitation in recommending Westinghouse products fantastic to deal with as we're Barclay's.
Worst customer service
This has been one of the worst dealings that I've ever had with a company. I purchased a WSE6630SA back in June, 2018. In the last two weeks it has had a major fault. I paid $299 including parts and services to have someone sent out and they informed us it was a major fault and could not be repaired.
They then sent an invoice to us for $165. My credit card has not been refunded the difference. I have opened a ticket but no one has responded to me. I called them yesterday on their hotline, requested a callback and heard nothing back. I now have to go to the trouble of requesting a chargeback from my bank.
Then, there is the bigger issue of a major fault and their paltry response. I was only offered a $550 pro-rata on one of their fridges at RRP. No compensation, no refund, nothing. I can get a discount at that rate at a retailer. An expected effective life of a fridge is 12 years and they don't even meet those standards.
I thought I was buying from a reputable company but instead, I got Temu customer service and I have to now spend all this extra time lodging to QCAT Small Claims and making an ACL complaint whilst my fridge food goes stale.
impossible, frustrating and nonsensical customer service
My Westinghouse freestanding oven/induction cooktop started glitching 2 months after installation. I purchased from The Good Guys so called them who told me to deal with Westinghouse under their manufacturing warrantee…
Called Westinghouse.. there is only an overseas call centre for the contact. I arranged an assessment and a technician turned up… I had a text informing me they would be there between 9am-1pm. The only number I had was the overseas call centre so had no direct line with the technician which was very frustrating as they didn’t turn up until 5pm.
Initially he said it was my cookware that was the problem (it was expensive induction cookware) but I pushed back, obviously. It was only when he brought in his own saucepan and it glitched again that he acknowledged the unit was faulty. He said he’d put it into his report and I would hear back “soon” about a changeover.
I didn’t hear anything more so called back in a week. Again, the overseas call centre.
They had the report and arranged the changeover. They said my unit would be replaced by a different model. It would be the same (induction and oven) but their upgraded model. I asked for the model number and we ended the call.
Afterwards I looked up the model number of the replacement and it was a gas cooktop. I rang them again and the person on the phone pretty much gaslit me (no pun lol) telling me that I was wrong and the model number was induction. I was like, well ok then…
But, of course it wasn’t.. it was a gas cooktop.
I rang again and just told them plainly, replace my unit with the same model number. I won’t accept anything else.
After this, I didn’t hear from them again so called them (o/s call centre all they way… no escalation to their local Victorian warehouse or branch at all throughout this palaver)
This time they informed me that there were no units in Victoria and I would have to wait a month. THEN they actually called me and told me I would have to wait a further almost 2 months (for clarity, my oven was assessed in early November 2024, I was initially told they would be back in stock December 9, 2024 then told no, it will be January 27, 2025)
Meanwhile I get a random call from a Westinghouse delivery guy who told me he had my unit to deliver… He was just abrupt and pretty much like, I have it, I’m coming over tomorrow..what time can I deliver. I told him it’s not convenient, can we make another time. Then I asked.. so you’ll take the faulty unit and install the new one? He said no, nothing to do with me. You have to arrange that via the o/s call centre. I was like no way not a chance. Then as it turns out he had the gas cooktop for me anyway! Far out.
So I wait it out. End of January comes and goes, no contact. I call them again. First of all the operator tells me I have the gas cooktop lined up as a replacement (wtf) I correct her and then she tells me that they are, again, out of stock on my model number and to call back in three weeks.
Then I get another call from the same stroppy delivery driver telling me he has got my unit and again, wants to deliver asap with no clarity (I’m just the delivery guy!) no timeline, just the o/s call centre to arrange a local install. It’s now April 20, I’ve still got a faulty unit which is pretty much non functioning now.
I’m having trouble getting any kind of accountability from Good Guys except empty promises but that’s another story…
Blender broke after one year of use
Blender broke after one year of use. Asked for them to consider if the EU right to repair could be applied. The brand directed me to a Hong Kong representative (presumably the factory), who directed me to the retailer where the answer appears stuck. Let's see how this develops
As I have a westinghouse oven I cannot…
As I have a westinghouse oven I cannot find a seal for,for coming up 7 weeks.Scourd throughout nz and even rang the helpline in NZ,Australia being connected to the helpline in the Philippines. Advised there where parts in certain suppliers who upon ringing was not true.In fact waiting since the beginning of the year and since Westinghouse closed down their nz base last year they have also failed to obtain parts.I would be wary of buying another westinghouse product in NZ because of this issue.
Awful quality of fridge
Awful quality of fridge. Does not work properly. Customer supports did not help. Avoid!
I purchased a Westinghouse microwave
I purchased a Westinghouse microwave. When I used it, it made an awful noise every time. The crappy warranty says I have to pay to ship it to them and for them to send it back. Why should I pay extra for them to fix it? Beware all the Bad companies insist that you pay extra. How greedy can they get.
THEIR 1 YEAR WARRANTY IS COMPLETE BS - REPORTED TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU
THEIR 1 YEAR WARRANTY IS COMPLETE BS. My unit would not turn on and was leaking oil everywhere. Their service center said that oil was never added to the engine which is completely FALSE. Oil was leaking everywhere all over my drive way.
I also purchased All State Insurance to cover the purchase. They are denying the claim too, saying that it is Westinghouse's responsibility.
Both parties are not being helpful at all. Clearly they sold me a machine that has issues. And now I'm out $1K for a piece of junk.
UPDATE 1/3: I reported to the Better Business Bureau. They still declined. I offered to visit the service center and demonstrate how I added motor oil and how it leaks everywhere.
Eric at Electric Generators Direct was…
Eric at Electric Generators Direct was knowledgeable and professional. I received my generator is absolute perfect condition and I received the generator in less than 2 weeks from when I ordered it.
The Westinghouse is a very robust and powerful generator. I run the WenGen dual fuel 7500 on 4 100-pound propane tanks. By using propane, the engine runs cooler, the spark plug last indefinitely and there are less emissions. Slightly less power wattage running on propane as compared to gasoline, but in my opinion, propane is much safer.
The generator Is relatively quiet for the power output. The outlets are weather protected with rubber boots that cover them. The simplicity, overall build quality and price point made this the generator for my wife and I.
The manual is an easy read and informative. The control panel on the generator informs the owner when oil changes, air filters and other service maintenance is required. No more guess work with this generator, which makes me feel that Westinghouse wants the gen set to last years into the future. Lots of features and function that work well and that are practical. Extremely easy assembly of the wheels and feet. I had the generator out of the box with axles, wheels, feet and battery hooked up in 15 minutes. I looked at every portable generator on the market and this was the one for me,
An excellent choice.
