Unlocking my car

My car locked itself with the key card still inside.
I had used We've Got the Key previously and found on both occasions the service to be excellent.
The operator I spoke to on the phone, Pierce, was extremely helpful and patient as I was in a remote spot and having trouble with signal on my mobile.
When I managed to confirm my order someone was with me in less than an hour and I was updated on their progress on route to me.
Entry was gained to my car speedily and cleanly and I was on.my way again.
Excellent service.

Terrible company

Was directed to this company from rac and they were nothing but terrible.
Paid the fee in full over the phone and was told that the locksmith would be with me within two hours. Four hours later I rang the company and was told there locksmith was still going to be over two hours away and if I wanted to cancel they are going to keep every penny of my money. Had my partner ring them after another hour and they told her that they’d given another job to the locksmith as it was in the same city as his last job. Adding another two and an half hours on and the person on the phone said it was because of traffic. Phone operator was smarmy when I asked about a refund and why do they keep the money and just said that’s the policy.

Faulty key

I purchased a spare key as my second original had broken battery fittings. It worked for a couple of weeks, then failed. I had a second visit and the man was unable to fix it,I am refused a refund, they tell me its a fault with the car, my original key works perfectly. They tell me to get the car checked at a main dealership, that would cost more than the faulty key

Our expert locksmiths attended your vehicle one more than one occasion to be certain that the failure to supply a key was due to an underlying vehicle issue—not within our control, unfortunately—and that your vehicle would be required to attend the dealership for further examination out-with the scope of an auto locksmith.

Although an unfortunate outcome, this is nothing we have control of, therefore our call-out service fee remains, and perhaps your 1 star rating is unfairly misplaced here.

Be warned avoid this company at all…

Be warned avoid this company at all costs.Can't write to much at the moment as I'm taking legal action against them but was lucky enough to have evidence and recorded phone calls from there staff.Never thought that I would need them.Also never pay them upfront that kind of way to conduct business speaks volumes

Brilliant Service

I was forwarded on to WGTK by RAC and i was not disappointed.
Cost is not excessive in my opinion (and i was talked through how to pay despite purse being locked in car too)
I was kept well informed of expected arrival time and the locksmith turned up sooner than expected.
Very helpful, polite and chatty, and opened my car super fast, no damage or hassle.
I would 100% use again and recommend to everyone. Thankyou WGTK!

Highly recommended!!

I got locked out of my car while in work as I was in a rush. Needless to say after eight hours the battery had insufficient charge to allow my fob to work and the manual blade would not work
Control room team very efficient and extremely knowledgeable about about the service they provide. Their locksmith “Carl” kept me well informed about how far away he was from my location. When he arrived the pick kits wouldn’t open the door lock on my Toyota so he had those “old school “ with air jacks and a long hook. He got my car open and jumpstarted within 15 minutes of arrival. I am so grateful. Thanks again Carl you’re a legend and thank you to the rest of the team too. I will definitely recommend you guys.

Great service!

My experience with this service was fantastic! I think the guys name was Ash who came to my rescue, he was friendly, helpful and got me back into my van in a matter of minutes!
Only thing I thought was a bit strange, was that he had a balaclava on and it was a very hot day! Won't let that ruin this experience anyway! 😂😂😂

Fantastic company!

I initially had my doubts, there aren't many companies willing to work on old Jeeps with obscure security systems, but after speaking with the Technician (Dan) on site, I knew I was in good hands. Really knew his stuff, was really quick and efficient. Hopefully I'll not need your services again, but I'll recommend your company to others. The price was really fair considering the distance travelled and the knowledge and skills offered. Big thanks WGTK and Dan the man!

One star — Misleading, Unfair Charges, and Poor Customer Service

I purchased a service from We’ve Got The Key which I no longer needed, so I cancelled shortly after. It was only after I had made payment that I was told over the phone there would be a cancellation fee - a charge that was never mentioned beforehand. I specifically requested a copy of the original call recording, which clearly confirms that the payment was taken before any mention of cancellation fees. Despite this, the company has refused to refund the full amount. Totally misleading and unacceptable business practice. Avoid.

With regards to our cancellation fee, a cancellation fee for a mobile auto-works service is common practice in the industry, as the attendances often require considerable travel, and on occasion, parts are sourced and paid-for behind the scenes by ourselves in order to fulfil the purchased service. All of your leading mobile-service businesses do also apply a cancellation fee.

On 02/06/2025 at 16:59 you purchased was processed with our staff member, Matt, who had discussed the cancellation fee with you prior to purchase, and you were content with this component of the service and accepted the terms, before paying for the service.

If you can get in touch with our complaints team, your call can be released to you, this is no problem at all. If you have already requested this via our complaints team, then this will be processed to you in due course.

Highway robbery.

RAC put me through to this company re a lost key.Charged £336.00 for someone to call out the following afternoon.Asked what would happen if the key was found.Told if we phoned back within an hour to cancel there would be an admin fee only.
Key found .Attempted to phone back but no one answers.Got through eventually within the hour.Cancelled and requested email for confirmation.After an hour,realised no email and none came.
Have been trying to contact the company on numerous occasions but fobbed off, cut off or left hanging numerous times.After speaking with someone this am who could not give me any information re refund, I see this afternoon I have been refunded £216 so in all have been charged £120. for nothing.
Website unavailable !! So no terms or conditions available.
Now will apply for subject access request for log of calls.

Dont go with these jokers

Im called Carkeyhero and these jokers set up a web page called Mycarkeyhero stealing my traffic. Any firm doing this is disgusting. They also dont have locksmiths themselves. Ring round and get locksmith to you but charge on top.

This firm are liars. Read their reply. They are scammers and if you fool for their we will do you a good job, more fool you.

Advertising as mycarkeyhero and then redirecting calls from one webpage to their weve got the keys site. Thats fraudulent. Trying to steal my work.
