No Customer Interest

Ordered online but the address they booked with the delivery company was incorrect - had to liase with DPD 3 times to get them to use the correct address - emailed Wildcraft multiply times but no reply - looking at other reviews they don't seem to be interested in any form of customer service - would not recommend to get anything from them

Terrible service, but love that it's coeliac friendly

I love that these are gluten free, but I've had a lot of problems with delivery and things not being as pictured. I've also tried to write a number of reviews, but they seem to be screening anything negative. I tried to get in touch about my reviews not being published, but was ignored over and over. I'm disappointed to have to write a review like this, but they really have made it as difficult as possible. Here is my review of the non-biscoff donut that they refused to publish:

"The donut was unfortunately overwhelmingly dry, tasted of nothing but sugar, and no evidence of non-biscoff anywhere. It arrived in a complete state, just a wet brown ball (see image below, just minutes after delivery). Too sweet to eat more than a couple of mouthfuls. It does, however, make a much nicer sticky pudding if warmed up. Much better texture that way."

We've also had numerous issues with delivery – they are so different to the pictures and often smashed to bits in the boxes. It's a real shame because we need more gluten free places that coeliacs can enjoy, but it shouldn't come at the price of such terrible experience.

MORE SAVOURY PLEASE!

MORE SAVOURY PLEASE!
I was very excited to reserve the BOGOF offer for Christmas as I normally miss out, but was disappointed to have only one loaf and everything else was sweet, and not necessarily things I would have chosen. I would prefer something with more savoury options. And I didn't think it was especially good value due to that too.

Beware bad customer service, they don't respond to emails

I ordered a christmas mystery box on the 18th December. The company were on social media begging to help with food waste. I put an order in but they hadn't set up their website properly so, even though in the text of the item it promised to be dispatched on the 19th, the first date i could book was the 5th Jan. oh well, probably just a website error and they'll check for these orders manually, i thought. I sent them an email straight away anyway to check. But they never responsed. 4 emails in total, multiple Instagram DM's, comments on social media, and now reviews. I just want them to cancel the order. It was meant for some fun Christmas treats but it's now January. Honestly can't believe they're running a business without any customer service! I would never recommend ordering from this company.

Today I turned up for my table booking…

Today I turned up for my table booking and the whole place was closed
I had a booking and you can still book on line today but all the shutters are down
I provided my telephone number and email and have messaged the owners with a copy of my booking and asked for a call back
It was an hour and half journey here for my husbands birthday with the family so we are disappointed and looking forward to a call back

My order did not arrive

My order did not arrive. DHL said they couldn't deliver as we hadn't advised a safe space. We had left a clearly lit note outside the door! They next day they promised to deliver before 22.00. At 21.30 the tracking said it had been delivered at 21.59!!!!
Clearly this is the fault of DHL but Wildcraft have failed to respond to my three emails.

I did Email wildcraft when I had the email saying it was going to be late to see if the order would have lost its freshness & was told basicaly did you observe the terms on late del ! & it had to be 3 days late to recieve a 50% credit voucher. I am sorry but your customer service needs a review as That delivery is unedible & hard & I found you Rude.

A must for coeliacs when visiting Leeds.

Being coeliac is never a joy when it comes to baked goods when out, so to find an entirely gluten free bakery was amazing.
We scrambled egg on toast and the full breakfast. Followed by jam doughnuts to take away for the afternoon.
All were amazing and would highly recommend.
The staff were both friendly and helpful and not at all irritated when I took an age to decide between which things to have, not just having one gf item for once!
Now just need to get them to move down south so I can enjoy daily 😂

Bad experience

The staff member (Irish, male) didn’t want to serve me it seemed, my first visit here which I was excited about, and he told me they were closing in half an hour so couldn’t order food or sit down. I said I only wanted a takeaway coffee and a sweet treat, which I had been wanting to try for ages. He actually got annoyed and walked away to pass me on to another staff member. I felt so embarrassed. I left with a brownie but didn’t eat it as it had a really plastic taste as if it had plastic in it. :(

Really disappointed

Really disappointed - had ordered a surprise gluten free tea for my dad on his 85th Birthday. He waited in at the allocated time and the delivery didn’t arrive - what’s worse is I got a text message to say sorry we missed you. He was eagerly watching the door the whole time so there was no way he would have missed it. When I complained to the bakery I got a £5 gift card to make up for the clotted cream which was spoiled sue to the time it took to deliver, being so disappointed with the delivery and service in general I asked if I could be reimbursed for the cream instead as I had no intention of using Wildcraft again. Surprise surprise…. Have received no response at all. Shocking service

Hello Jemma,

I'm so sorry you were disappointed with the service you received from Wildcraft. As much as we would love to be able to hand deliver our baked goods to our customers all over the country, we have no choice but to entrust them to the care of our chosen logistics partners DPD. Having tried a number of other courier companies over the years, we have found them to be significantly more reliable than anyone else we've tried. However, things do sometimes go wrong. On Thursday 16th you dropped us an email to let us know that dpd said that your father had missed the driver and they were going to attempt to redeliver the parcel rhe next day and telling us to carry out a full investigation. We emailed DPD to find out what went wrong on their end and responded to your email on the Friday morning to let you know that DPD would be delivering that day and that the rest of the order would be fine and to dispose of the clotted cream which would be past its use by date. We apologised for the inconvenience caused and said we would be sending you a voucher by way of apology for the inconvenience caused. At 12:32 we emailed with a further apology and to give you the voucher code for £5 off a future order with Wildcraft. When you replied to our email to say that you would prefer a refund for the clotted cream, it was 3:34 on Friday afternoon. We had a farmers market to get ready for and don't respond to emails during our days off. As parents of multiple small children and families who we barely see during the week, we believe that prioritising our families during our days off is important. So I was rather surprised when i went to respond to emails this Monday evening (having not had the time to do so during the day due to staff shortges) to see that you had left us a 1 star review after not receiving a response to your email within 10.5 working hours of you sending it. I can only begin to understand how disappointed you must have been about the spoiled tub of clotted cream and missed delivery. So once again, I do sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.

We use special individual sized catering portions of clotted cream that are much smaller than you can find in the supermarket. However I've taken the liberty of refunding you the cost of a much larger tub of clotted cream at Waitrose which is £1.55. I have left the £5 gift voucher on your account should you wish to place another order with us in the future and thank you for choosing Wildcraft.

Kind regards,

Mina

The best gluten free donuts

I've ordered several times from here now and not once been disappointed. Tried several doughnuts, cookies and the Babka buns. All have been amazing, but for us it's the doughnuts that are the stand out items.

Having sampled some recently from another brand who deliver (they were not good at all) wildcraft have the best doughnuts. Great quality and good value for money that we really feel you would not tell they are gluten free. Looking forward to ordering more.

Absolutely over the moon with my order

Absolutely over the moon with my order, packaged perfectly all the goodies look like they do on the website. Just tried a cinamon bun as I was the most excited about this an it tastes perfect. Didn't taste like gluten free...perfect

It was burnt. :(

Normally I find Wildcraft products to be really good (if quite pricey) so I was excited to put in a Christmas order.

A lot less excited to open up the £12.50 Panettone to find that it had a black tinge on top and tasted burnt. The rest of it tasted dry which was probably because it had spent too long in the oven.

I've emailed and had a response after chasing. It was mostly about how busy they are- I appreciate that people are busy (I'm a virologist in a pandemic, I'm not quiet either) but they decided it was fine (tasted like charcoal) but offered a £5 gift voucher. Less than half the cost of the uneaten item and less than the cost of delivery for a new order.

Really disappointed and don't think I'll be using them again. Too risky if something goes wrong.

Thank you so much for saying how much you have enjoyed your Wildcraft products to date (after you spent nearly £200 with us in 4 months, we had guessed you loved our products but it was lovely to hear regardless!)

I'm sorry that my response to your email wasn't what you had wanted. The email was received on Thursday the 16th and I wasn't able to respond to it until Tuesday morning. 3 working days is normally longer than it takes me to respond to emails but hey....it's Christmas in a bakery! I figured that as you had waited a week to email about the "burnt" panettone a few more days wouldn't make much of a difference.

I baked and dispatched around 80 panettone in the same batch as the one you received and not only have we not had a single complaint, other customers actually emailed us to say how amazing it was! In the years I've been running Wildcraft, I've learned that despite our best efforts, we won't necessarily please everyone and that's ok.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

For context, this is the email Kip is referring to and the only 'reply' I have received was this 2 star review:

Hello

Sorry for the delay in responding to your email. I've been stretched unbelievably thin over the last few weeks. I've been dealing with emails, coordinating bakers and running the bakehouse, having to bake full time, run a farmers market on Saturday as well taking over the running of the cafe and doing year end tax returns while parenting 3 small children. It's a lot for one person to juggle!

As for the panetonne, depending on where it is in the oven, it can impact the final colour on top. I've had a look at the picture you sent and it's within acceptable tolerance levels. The inside can feel a little dry but if you pop it in the toaster to warm up (you don't need to actually toast it), it goes really soft and moist again. Hope that answers your questions!

As an apology for the delay in responding to your email, I'll arrange for a £5 gift voucher to be emailed to you.

Have a lovely Christmas

Kind regards,

Mina

Definitely worth a try

I placed a big order after buying some things from the bakery at the NEC. The order came on the day it was meant too and everything tasted great. The cookies are the best cookies, I've tasted in a long time, very soft and chewy. Will definitely be ordering again, and if I'm every in Leeds would love to visit the cafe.

Officially the best jam donut EVER

As someone who never writes reviews, I just had to write this one to explain how this donut has literally made my year.. I can cook and have tried everything possible to make a donut that tastes like a real donut and never come close to this amazing piece of art… all of the celiacs out there will understand we get tired of the same stuff “gluten free cake” terrible bread and steak in restaurants with sorbet for desert
this donut made me so happy I had tears in my eyes !!!
I will be putting this on social media the world needs to try and please can you come to the free from show so it can get the attention it deserves

Absolutely delicious

Absolutely delicious, a good gluten free doughnut is always hard to find, and these guys know what they have going for them, can not fault. Just a shame the delivery caused for them to be thrown all over the place and not look as good

Consistently good

The orders I’ve placed have always arrived as expected and have been delicious. I particularly recommend the doughnuts!
Customer service wise - they are very pleasant when visiting the shop but I’ve never really had to flag any issues so have no idea how they’d be dealt with.
Bit sad they got rid of local delivery but accept this was probably time consuming and niche.
