So, Haris...we think that's a really odd review?

You buy one ticket at £4.99 into a draw for a BMW X5 M50d on the 26th October 2020 and because you didn't win...it's rigged? Interesting way to go about life.

We believe that you might need to revisit a few things before deciding that you want to damage our business, our integrity and any trust we've built since we started the business back in February 2020...not to mention what damage you could do to the livelihoods of ourselves and our families. (Yep, we're real people, with real lives!)

So, we had 9499 tickets available on the BMW X5 competition that you entered and despite only selling 3101 the draw still went ahead, like all our competition draws, as they are guaranteed to go ahead regardless of ticket sales!

Your number can be found on that list....it was 5256 if you missed it. You had and still have access to the list, as it remains on our website.

But....we understand that because you didn't win, you think it rigged???....Can you see why we think that you may not have thought about the review before placing it?

You probably won't revise or delete this review, but I have responded so that anyone who might be thinking about having a 'bit of fun' and entering our competitions in the future, can see that you have clearly got it wrong.

We love what we do, it's only times like this that we feel really sad and disappointed.

So, we wish you well, but ask that if you decide to ever enter another competition (not with us of course!), and you don't win...that you please take time to think about your review before leaving it and potentially damaging the lives of the people behind the business.

Dear Will,

As a valued customer, we are gutted by your 1 Star review, so we thought we would make contact to see if we can help to clarify the mailing / marketing preferences that we have as a business. Therefore, we have sent you an email directly, which we hope will answer your questions.

However, for the benefit of anyone reading this review, we have outlined our processes below and we have provided links to our Privacy Policy, which clearly outlines our work to ensure that data is handled with the utmost care and respecting the customers' preferences.

1. “Would not let me buy without me agreeing to join the Facebook mailing”

The only thing that you MUST agree to when purchasing a ticket, are our ‘Terms & Conditions‘, but I’m afraid this is a legal requirement and therefore not something that we can alter – but this gives people the option of whether they want to buy a ticket or not. If they do not agree to our terms & conditions, which we are legally obligated to show, then we understand that they may not enter, which we have to accept.

We only use one communications platform for marketing emails and that is a system called Mailchimp. With Mailchimp we cover all the regulatory guidelines that are required, namely GDPR. This means that we do not send emails out to people who have expressed that they ‘do not’ want to ‘subscribe’.

We currently only have 70.2% of our customers subscribed to the mailing list we hold on Mailchimp, this means that 29.8% are unsubscribed and have expressed they would not like to receive marketing emails from us, which we will always honour.

We always advise that you do subscribe, as this is how we are able to communicate the following information: upcoming competitions, recent winners and offers that we may have for our customers. But I will be clear, we DO NOT contact anyone who has not subscribed in the first instance or indeed has subsequently unsubscribed to the mailing service. In fact, this is the advantage of using systems such as Mailchimp, as it simply will not allow us to send emails to those people.

Upon checkout on our website, you’ll see two areas that have the use of a 'checkbox':

A. The first checkbox is there for you to choose to subscribe or not. By simply clicking the box, you can subscribe or not subscribe – and no matter what you choose, your entry will be accepted.
B. The second checkbox needs to be ticked to demonstrate that you have read and understood our privacy policy and our terms & conditions of entering. This is the section that is a legal requirement for us to display. If you do not agree to the terms & conditions, you can’t play…this is because these T&C’s are in place to protect you as the consumer and us as a business. But again, we will reinforce, this is a legal requirement that we MUST carry T&C’s and they must be accepted in order for you to enter our competitions.

If you subscribe by accident and receive a marketing email, you will see at the bottom of the email there are two options:

A. A link for you to unsubscribe.
B. A link for you to update your marketing preferences with us.

2. “also wanted to use my data for unassisted marketing”

We will confirm again, we do not and never will conduct any marketing that isn’t done or authorised by us without your express permission. The only marketing we do directly to you is through our Mailchimp platform, as outlined above. Aside from this we do of course advertise on Google, Facebook & other advertising platforms to generate new customers, but this is just that, advertising…and it doesn’t use any personal data of our customers.

Once again, you are a valued customer, so we really do hope that we have put your mind at rest and that you can be assured that we do not use you data in any way that you wouldn’t allow. As further back up on our processes, please take the time to read our privacy policy, which clearly outlines that we will NEVER use your data without your express permission.
