Woodland Trust into the future
After contacting the Woodland Trust, I was promptly sent a reply that was very constructive and helpful. They are an amazing organization and deserve full support!

Queen hornet or queen wasp?
Sorry, pressed the wrong star! Should have been the fifth, not the first.
Very useful information from James. I had suspected the insect to be a queen hornet, but not certain. Good to get confirmation from the experts?
Thanks again.

A good meaning to life
I have met honest, trustful people that have been giving a good meaning to their life - that I could communicate with - for the starter. A rare gem in the present days that indicates a true contribution to the real world!

Woodland Trust - fantastic charity
Woodland Trust always respond quickly to questions and are a pleasure to deal with. Working in the environmental sector, I see the importance of their work across the UK and have huge respect for the integrity with which they carry it out.

Complete time wasters
After setting up an application for a 94year old gentleman and them coming and viewing the field and giving the go ahead they said i cannot continue with the application and a relative will need to continue it, me being a friend of 20 years +,all this took about a year. We get a relative to do this and months later they cancel the project and wont answer the phone to us or provide a reason. I will make sure the guy doesn't donate any money to you on passing as he mentioned 250k to the woodland trust. Absolute shambles of a charity total and complete waste of time they are.
Edit, you can forget it the guy dont want to know now.
You have had your chance

Not recommended
I came across this company at a London exhibition, where I encountered a representative who was extremely pushy about signing me up as a member and making a donation. Despite politely declining and expressing that I would consider it later, his demeanor instantly changed—he became hostile and even accused me personally. It was an incredibly unprofessional and rude experience.
After reading online reviews, I feel fortunate to have walked away. It's disheartening to see individuals like this working for a charity focused on sustainability and biodiversity, as their behavior tarnishes the reputation of charitable organizations and discourages people who genuinely want to contribute to good causes.

dissapointed
ordered 4 packs of Christmas cards but was disappointed. On their site the cards looked wonderful, all looked as if they had a border around the picture, this wasn't so, the colours were more muted and the pictures not so sharp - quite blurred. I bought cards from woodland trust last year and was happy with them but I wont be supporting them next year.

Beware!
Beware!
During a recent visit to Cwm Mynach, Bontddu, Gwynedd we parked our car in the main car park for this site, neatly and tidily in the corner opposite the main gate. On returning to the car two hours later we were shocked to find that the gate had been closed and padlocked! This was perplexing as it was clearly a car park, complete with "Crosoe-Welcome" sign and a very useful information board showing a map and the usual helpful stuff. What there wasn't was any indication at all that the gate may be locked at any time, trapping you inside! After the initial panic of what to do next and having no signal in this remote location I discovered that the gates hinges were fortunately not secure and I was able to lift it off and so escape our unlawful imprisonment. Other folk may not be so fortunate and consequences may be different. I raised a complaint with the woodland trust, who informed me that there is no carpark at this location (there is!) and the gate would have been locked by contractors, even though it would have been obvious that they were locking a car in!
Very unsatisfactory!
Now run by a Woke-riddled
Now run by a Woke-riddled, wimin only bunch of extreme left wing zealots.

Avoid
Package late, too many excuses. Arrived in poor condition. Communication stopped.
Trees purchased not as described
Trees purchased not as described. Biggest sapling of the lot is 50cm tall at best and width about 3mm so extremely puny. Described at purchase as 1 metre tall or 70cm if pruned for health.
Spent £35 on these, never again!
Buyer beware and go to your local nursery.
Toxic organisation avoid donating
Toxic organisation avoid donating, very divisive.
Great service for tree order
Native trees (bare root whips) arrived in good condition, dispatched within three days, overnight Fed-Ex and well packaged. Quantity prices are reasonably competitive.
Great new circular and co eco mug
Great new circular and co eco mug. Wrapped with care and delivered very fast 👌👍💕
Poor practice
This company are selling Christmas cards with good discounts, but then when I tried to cancel my order within minutes (having realised the P&P costs cancelled out the discount) they claimed it had already been processed. However, my attempt to cancel was so quick that there is no way they had time to process anything. They told me to return them for a refund, which is fine, but I would still lose out as the P&P costs would mean I had lost money on the purchase. I was buying four packs of cards, so they could at least offer an incentive, such as free P&P. I am also a member, so you would think that would warrant free P&P. I will certainly not be renewing my membership or buying Christmas cards from them again. Avoid this company.
Two dead trees
My friend very kindly bought a small holly tree from the Woodland Trust as a present for me last Christmas, 2022. When it arrived it was very small, around 8 inches in height. I planted it and by 23 May 2023 I realized it was quite brown and had died.
My friend contacted the Woodland Trust and they offered a replacement. There was only a small choice and I chose a bird cherry sapllng. This was planted on 2 June. By 26 July, I realized this too had died.
My friend was very disappointed and was told by the person she contacted at the Woodland Trust that there would be no refund or replacement. They even suggested I should have my soil tested.
I am quite taken aback by this.
I have had gardens all my adult life (I'm now 80). I have had success and have never had a tree or bush die- apart from the two from the Woodland Trust.
I have been living in my present home for two years and there was nothing planted. Over the past two years I have created a lovely garden, full of colour, small trees and shrubs. Nothing has died, except of course the plants which are annuals. My perennials, trees and shrubs are all healthy and strong.
I think you have not fulfilled your obligation to supply young trees which are good specimens, disease free and healthy.
I am very unhappy that my friend was not offered a refund when she bought me a present, in good faith, which failed to survive and grow,
I had to give a star on the Trust Pilot system in order to write a review. If there had been a way to give no stars I would have given none at all.
