Using WordPress to design my new website
Using WordPress to design my new website was very smooth. The chat AI function is very impressive and responsive. I am new to designing a website and it was able to interpret my clumsy requests and do what I wanted, even if I could not describe things well. And if things didn't work the first time, they stuck with it - sometimes four or more times - until the system did what it should. I rarely understood what they were saying, but it didn't matter, which I truly appreciated. I have already recommended Wordpress to many people; great product!

The current version is less intuitive than the preceding one. I'd prefer to never have to spend time on new tech/design/functionality because my needs are so basic (an online cv).

The Decline of WordPress Over 12 Years!
Over the past 12 years with WordPress.com, I've experienced a sharp decline in the support offered in my early days using WordPress.
Starting off on the Premium Plan, then upgrading to the expensive Business Plan that advertised "live 24/7 chat support", a couple of weeks after I paid for the upgrade, the rules changed. Support became AI support, which was woeful, and then it was rarely a human on chat support. It was always, "We'll get back to you by email", but most times, this took days of waiting for support, with one time taking 5 days! Not acceptable for a business website.
But that's not all that's declined. WP pushes out updates without thorough testing and expects its users to find and report bugs, saving WP time and money. It's pathetic!
Deciding to migrate my site to LiquidWeb, where my other site is hosted, today, I contacted support and finally had a human on chat. I was advised that WP does not pro-rata or give a refund even on a 2-year Business Plan subscription, even though I have 1 year and 4 months left. Ouch! The final sting! No wonder WP is losing customers!
My experience over the past decade-plus is that WP has got greedier while providing less support. I'm definitely migrating my site to LiquidWeb, as the support provided is live 24/7 with a human, and I can't fault this host after almost 3 years with my other business website.
