Great service greet staff always there to help

Have hired a few vehicles through Abacus and the company have always been flexible and vehicles are always in good condition / very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Booking online was super easy, unfortunately I had to cancel the booking due to the event being cancelled and Jaie was so helpful and arranged a refund right away. Great service

Hired a van for the weekend at very last minute, was a easy pick up and the front desk was very helpful with return timings etc.

I needed to hire a van to collect my new sofas, the assistant was extremely helpful i gave measurements and found me a suitable sized van. Polite and professional staff, thank you Abacus will definately use again and recommend to others. Five star service.

Thank you so much Abacus, very easy rental. Reception staff were very friendly, car was very clean and very efficient. Enjoyed the free coffee whilst I was waiting for the car to be brought round to me. Also very easy return process via the key chute!

AVOID!!Taking to social media for reviews is not something I usually do, however, in this case, given the level of stress and damage to business caused to me and my business partner I was left with no choice.

I just wish we had done thorough checks on previously reviews etc before opting to go with Abacus for our work vehicle. It seems the majority of the reviews on t.pilot mirror the abysmal service we have had from this company. We have used several hire firms in our 15 years in business together and I can honestly say I have never experienced such poor.

Issues to note:

•Rude volatile customer service staff
•Threats of police action if they weren’t getting their way
• Lack of communication between staff members
• Random unauthorised payment attempts on the card they have on file (randomly attempted to take extra money, without authorisation, on more than one occasion which I have an apology for)

Hired a van for a house move, visited the website then decided to call the office as I was unsure of the vehicle type I could drive confidently.

Very helpful lady talked me through the process then offered me the free night before collection so managed to get loaded up before I exchanged the next day.

Took the pressure off massively freeing up my time to clean my new property before I moved in.
Unloaded the van & returned the keys through the drop box that night.

Absolutely appalling company, absolute zero respect for their customers. Was booked for long term hire, nothing but issues due to lack of communication with staff. Supposedly undercharged with no one realising for the first month, random payments attempted from my card, early payments attempted without permission, supposedly placing me in B&M for over a week, which was obviously not the case as the vehicle was hired for WORK PURPOSES. Told on the day, that the truck would be collected and was reported STOLEN! All because I couldn’t respond to the appointment with a technician at the drop of a hat, insurance purchased for 12 months last week, vehicle demanded back yesterday leaving me with a policy but no vehicle and £800 out of pocket as well as over £2,000 in loss of earnings.

Appreciate it wasn’t the smoothest of rides throughout the lease, but every payment was always made within a day of the due date and I was nothing but cooperative with the staff from day 1.

Absolute nightmare experience.

Been using Abacus for 17 years now, now my longest relationship after my blood family. Don't have any complaints with the service (could say maybe change the new peugeot fleet as they dashboard is not as great as the previous models, especially navigation and usb)

I always get a reminder call on the day I am supposed to pick up the car, the cars have always been clean and they have always been fair with me if I go above the required daily mileage or bring back the car with less fuel than I took the car with and they take what they need to take from my deposits accordingly, so surprised by other reviews on here about this issue as it's never been the case with me and I have been using them for nearly 2 decades. When I return the car back after-hours, there's a chute you can put the keys through for their staff to collect and record when they come in to work the next morning.

I have introduced several friends and family members to Abacus and none of them have ever made a complaint to me to my knowledge about them.

Overall I will still continue using them when required.

Abacus has always been A*, always extremely helpful even when I have called on short notice. Van/car is always ready and waiting, very easy with checking car back in. A* all the way

I was slightly cautious to hire a car from Abacus due to the not stellar reviews here but I was really pleasantly surprised. Lovely service, lovely staff, everything was easy. Didn't experience any hidden charges or anything like that. I had asked if I could collect the night before and they were really great about that.

Have been hiring mini buses for a number of years from the Ferndown branch. Staff always helpful and courteous and the vans always clean, tidy and mechanically good.
