Poor communication after making a purchase, tracking numbers up the day after it delivered, and they use Amazon for delivery. I don't do business with Amazon, so unfortunately, I cannot do business with Abe Books. I will be steering clear from now on.

Would give less than one star if I could. Poorly labeled a book on their website, and didn’t accept any sort of return. Poor customer service, poor website. Definitely won’t use again.

Purchased two books. One listed as "excellent" whose hard cover fell off when I first opened it, and the second was listed as a "hardcover" but it was a softcover. Unacceptable. Will never be using AbeBooks again.

Trash!!!
Fraudulent sellers who were banned from other decent sites, like Amazon or Ebay will cheat and swindle you.
NO REFUNDS FOR DELIBERATELY FALSLY DESCIRBED BOOKS.
When you receive, and see it is NOT what was said in description, even if you return it and provide tracking number, they will NEVER REFUND YOU MONEY!!!

0 Customer Service after Not Sending the Correct Book.
Purchased one book, received another from "Sell Back Your Book" @sellbackyourbook.com> they refused to deliver the actual book. Their reply was:

They took my $60 and never delivered my book. Stick with Amazon. UPS shows something was delivered to Redondo, CA. When does mail ever arrive with just a city and state? Abebooks.com has the full address; otherwise, the credit card information would have been rejected. I rarely post reviews, but I am moved to warn the public. From a professional perspective, their phone number is non-existent, and emails for support have been requested more than once to no avail.

I'd like to give zero star or negative star. I purchased books from them twice, and on each occasion I had to return the item. First case: the book was advertised as 'new', but what I received was a used library copy, with library seal, card holder and everything. . Second case: Again advertised as 'new', but what I got looked like a used book (damaged spine, dirty book edge). I could get better quality used copy at a fraction of a price. What's more I had to spend about 20 dollars in total for returning the two books by USPS, which is also irritating. Probably the site is good for used book, but I will never buy new books here.

Ordered a book which was advertised as good condition. It arrived in poor condition because of old and very yellowing pages, pen writing and green highlighting. To the touch, the book felt unpleasant as if it was poorly stored in conditions without care. All this was detailed in emails without response. Since AbeBooks knew I needed it urgently, their lack of response only caused me to buy the book again elsewhere. They did not refund the money. The book probably belongs in the garbage because I won't use it.

Brutal company with non-existent customer service. I used to be a regular customer until my experience with Gold Books, a book seller 'supposedly' operating out of Denver, CO. I ordered a NEW book, yet I received not only the wrong edition, but a used copy from a Goodwill store in Texas. After contacting the bookseller, they sent me another copy -- also the wrong edition and shop-worn, not new. This time it came from Arizona. SCAM!

Impossible to get service from Abe Books. No email or phone number. Will never shop on Abe Books again. Looks like I'm back to Amazon - they stand behind their customers.

I have ordered from ABE numerous times with no issues. That has certainly ended!!! Books no delivered, multiple inquiries result with nothing but a run around and double talk. ABE holds no accountability for their sellers. DO NOT USE THE ABE SITE. EVER.

I've used AbeBooks for some years now and have had many book bargains, and no real problems at all. A vast treasury of second-hand books to search through, many in excellent condition and at bargain prices. I can highly recommend the site.

Never ever buy any book from this company. They don’t have any customer help phone nor email. Their customer help is automated bs, looping around itself. Seller never shipped the book but sent 2 different tracking numbers showing books not shipped after a month. Requested a refund and AbeBooks automatic help says book has been shipped. This company sucks and deserved to be bankrupted.

I ordered a book, ABE books had correct mailing label, but the barcode label was incorrect. It kept getting delivered to the wrong address. They made me deal with USPS to get the issue corrected. It arrived 2 weeks after it was scheduled, so missed giving it as a gift to a family member. They own delivery, but they made me sort it out. Lame.

ordered a 2024 edition, got a 2010 and they refuse to accept a return..... Scam of a site. Biggest fraud is the star rating..... all it is it the percent of the books not reurned and since they refuse returns ...... voila 5 stars... DO NOT BUY From ABES for any reason

I've used Abebooks since 2016 and have been pleasantly surprised 99% of the time. Only recently I'd I have a problem with the Seller themselves not Abebooks. I received the book .timely and beautiful condition. Was not satisfied with the content itself. Language dictionary. I wanted the return it....sent multiple emails to the seller in Australia to no avail....I was ignored completely.

Lies, lies and more lies. Sent same email 4 times telling me I had received a refund which I hadn’t. These morons couldn’t care less about customer service or honesty. AVOID at all costs.

Buyers Beware! I purchased a book, paid online, received a confirmation with a date to expect arrival and days later received an email stating that they would not ship the book to me unless I agreed to pay an additional $15 for the book. It was a book that had been written by a dear friend of mine in 2015, who recently passed away. It was more sentimental than anything. I refused. This site uses deceptive sales tactics. Again, Buyers Beware!

Cave! Be careful!

Whoever looking for an old breviary with fortune, be careful with this company! the worst book buying experience in my life. The German seller returned my book after I return and kept my money. The breviary I received beyond worst and fragile. The arrogant seller said that my returned book is at the Custom office and he has no car to pick it up. Ha, I don’t know how he made reship it to ma again! Fraud! I lost almost $150. Greedy, bad merchant!

Pure juice of scam and fraud. It is incredible it is an amazon.com subsidiary.
My order never made it to my address, even days after the long shipping period of 2 months.

They don't even try to argue so evident their scam or incompetence.

I have only the highest respect and appreciation for Abebooks. I've done business with them for over 20 years and any book I've bought is sold in the same condition as described on their website by it's many honest, conscientious, and dedicated sellers the world over. Their iron-clad money-back policy of customer satisfaction with every purchase is second to none in the used books industry. I whole-heartedly recommend Abebooks if you're a used book collector and a bookworm like me!
