Strange Policies and a Frustrating Experience

I attempted to place an order on Abt today, Black Friday, after successfully making purchases from multiple other websites without any issues. My first order was rejected because they don’t allow shipping to a last-mile delivery service (Fetch) address. Surprisingly, this was the first time I encountered such a restriction. They asked me to wire the payment if I wanted the order shipped to that address—quite an interesting policy! My second attempt, using a different address, also failed. This time, the reason given was "security reason that I can't tell you." Their approach seemed odd, and customer service was unhelpful in resolving the matter.

The live Chat rep.

The live Chat rep., Josh Leff was fantastic! So, polite, professional and extremely helpful. Also, Carmen was extremely efficient, and helpful in getting a small credit issued to my credit card. The entire experience was wonderful. And, I received my complete order within 2 days.

Awesome place to buy from including awesome customer service, sales and installation.

The Whirlpool WRS325SDZSS side by side refrigerator was installed on Friday, 11.22.2024, by Abt Electronics. The installation service was awesome. Both Brian Oeun and Santino Bianchi are amazing as I have a crawlspace and this is where the existing water line to the existing ice maker is located at. Brian made sure that I was up to date in having the proper components for a successful ice maker installation. Brian and Santino make sure that I understood what was done, and asked repeatedly if I have any questions and went over how to operate the refrigerator from changing temperature, how to care for the cooper water line behind the refrigerator, what product to use to clean the stainless steel doors, how to flush out the water dispenser, in cleaning the condenser coils. They was careful in removing the existing refrigerator and bringing in the new refrigerator thru the multiple door openings. Delivery was on time. My concerns has been noted in the delivery ticket of the refrigerator door seal bulging out and asking for a replacement refrigerator door. Installer Brian Oeun took photos of the problem of the refrigerator door of the seal bulging inside as well as Santino have seen the bulging seal.

The sale person are amazing especially the internet sale. I had questions of replacing my existing Kenmore Elite side by side refrigerator and Michael Lopez was amazing to corresponding back and forth via e-mail with specs, model number of refrigerator that is similar to Kenmore Elite. Michael have referred me to an in house sale person when I visit Abt but the sale person was not available at 9:00a.m and start at 10:00a.m. so I was referred to Doris Bogdanescu. Doris was awesome in showing the different models that fit my criteria and of the existing Kenmore Elite refrigerator.

I have heard fabulous things of Abt and it was highly recommended to go to Abt Electronics from several of my coworkers. My boss have mentioned he wish he had purchased his refrigerator from Abt Electronics instead of Lowes. It was highly recommend as Abt Electronics does crawl spaces as part of the ice maker installation charge unlike Home Depot who does not do crawl spaces and I would have to hire a separate plumber. This will be the place to buy future appliances. You will not be disappointed with the services from sale people to installation and calling customer services.

Shopping with Abt was great

Shopping with Abt was great. It was easy to find the product I was looking for & there was detailed information about the item, as I'd hoped. I bought this as a Christmas gift, so I don't yet know how it works, but I've certainly been impressed by the ratings. I'm looking forward to seeing this in action.

Not easy peasy.

Not an easy spot to insert oven/microwave. Even more difficult to insert new one. Lots of measuring and careful work. They were amazing.

Very smooth process

Very smooth process. Shippers communicated well, and came when promised. Second major appliance from Abt. Was not an issue for me, as this refrigerator was going IN the garage, but if you do not order enhanced delivery , what you get a big box in your garage.

A good outcome

I recently purchased 2 dehumidifiers from ABT using their online website. The online literature describing the dehumidifiers stated (in two places) that drainage hoses were included. When the product arrived, there were no hoses. I called customer service and was told hoses were, in fact, not included; directly contradicting their online literature. The customer service agent instead offered to sell me hoses at a discounted price. I found this insulting. After posting a not so favorable review on Trustpilot concerning this matter, I received a call from ABT and spoke with an individual who not only apologized for their website’s misstatement but readily agreed to provide the hoses in question at no additional cost to me. Having had a career in a service industry, I know mistakes happen. But often times it’s how the mistakes are addressed and made right that makes the difference. In this case ABT made things right and I am happy to acknowledge their efforts.

Abt going bad to worst they will sell…

Abt going bad to worst they will sell you warranty for the half the price of washing machine and Kitchen appliances and when it will come to do the service they will make you run for the money after weeks waiting for someone to visit for new one year old dryer which is stopped working they changed my service call timing on the day of service call last minute and customer service person are like doing me favor sending service team to fix faulty dryer when I called them.
They become big and now need to look for other service providers my 11 years old relationship ended after bad customer service.

Don’t buy there warranty it’s like scam from abt.

Deceiving sales

Deceiving sales, sent me an Customer Appreciation email ends on 10/27 . One item was a Samsung tv 55" for 318 but I chose the bigger one 60" 367.00 and extended warranty. But every time with this company I add items to cart and extra money added to cart. A shipping charge of 172.50. Say what? I don't know of any store who charges that nowadays. Needless to say that explains why I don't use their card anymore. I never completed the transaction. It's ridiculous.

We offer free local delivery within 100 miles of our store in the suburbs of Chicago. If you live beyond that area, we have thousands of products that ship for free. Some items do have shipping cost related to the size and location the item is being shipped to. All of this information should be easily identifiable on our website or through a sales representative.

They claim price match guarantee...But there is always excuse... not local retailers...found gas range locally 30% cheaper..the sales comment was , very good deal..You should buy it!!! No price match mention...what I'm saying...BS price match

Customer satisfaction


We recently completed a major HVAC project at our home in Riverwoods, Illinois, and who would've known it but to our surprise, we heard that ABT was in the HVAC business. After shopping around, we decided to go with ABT and purchased a 4 ton and 5 ton HVAC units, a boiler, and a tankless water heater.

This was a complicated project, from an aesthetics standpoint it came out great, It should be featured in Better Homes & Gardens of utility rooms, it's a real piece of art!

Although this is not a perfect story, the process wasn’t without its challenges, as we had team after team come out to troubleshoot issues, it was at that point I came to realize that if we had chosen any of the other companies, they likely would have walked away after receiving our payment. However, when it comes to customer service and wanting to make a customer happy any business could take a page from these guys.

ABT’s commitment to customer service was truly impressive. From day one, Service Manager, Dan Raysby, assured us they wouldn’t leave the job until we were completely satisfied. One persistent issue was with the dampers not closing properly, which required multiple visits to resolve. At one point, I thought I’d have to settle for a less than perfect system, but Dan reminded me of his original promise. He ended up delivering on that promise by involving the manufacturer, along with his team, they finally got everything working to our satisfaction.

The bottom line: if I had gone with any other company, I highly doubt I would have received this level of service and dedication. It’s rare to find a company that will come back again and again on their own time and expense to ensure the job is done right. I highly recommend ABT!

Exemplary customer service

I accidentally ordered the wrong microwave trim kit 2 times. Customer service was top notch with really fast response times.

They gave me return shipping labels complimentary and thrn credited my card back promptly.

I did a purchase first they send email…

I did a purchase first they send email to show prove or address and card… them didn’t hear nothing from them moths laters they send a unexpected email sending a tracking…. After they had reversed they payment…. They charge again to my card me no wanting the product no more, ups come grind the package leave it outside the door no one was home, I tell abt that they say I’m reposible for my package told them ya should be more responsible for the company who ya will choose as a delivery company… lady say that not they problem that I should contact my bank and hang up the phone

Jose- When you placed the order it was noted that it was not in stock and was on order. We reached out on 5/23 to inform you that the item had to ship to the bill to address at this time you did not cancel the order. We reached out about the ETA in early July and the unit would be in stock shortly. The order was shipped on 7/3 and was delivered to your address on 7/6 and left at your unit door. We were not notified the order was not delivered nor a tracer was issued. You did a chargeback with your bank and they found in our favor. We apologize for any inconvenience.
